Integrate eclipse and oracle ebusiness suite - oracle

How to use Oracle Ebusiness suite 11i with eclipse?
How do we integrate the suite so that I may use eclipse IDE [Helios] to perform development with regards to the .jsp and .java files present on the Server.
Server is Linux based.
Please let me know.. Thank you.

11i uses Apache Jserv, so you would have to try to find an Eclipse plugin that supports that. There doesn't seem to by anything on the plugin site. If you're looking to upgrade to R12 (11i goes on extended support this year), then it uses oc4j which looks like it has some plugin support. The 11i technology stack is pretty old.

Is there a recent version of Apache Derby that is supported in OSGi?

I am using Derby 10.8.2 which requires Gemini DBAcess. These versions are very old (circa 2011) and do not work with JRE > 1.8.
As the title asks, does anyone know of a more recent version that will work in an OSGi evnironment?
Thanks
The Derby community have an open Enhancement Request to support OSGi on the most recent versions of Derby: DERBY-7056
There are a set of proposed changes to provide this support.
My understanding is that the primary blocker on this is access to somebody who is relatively familiar with OSGi and could test the support, as none of the Derby committers are users of OSGi.
So perhaps you could volunteer to work with the Derby community and help get the OSGi support tested and committed?

SonarQube Integration with IBM Websphere commerce

I need to integrate SonarQube with IBM Websphere Commerce.
How can it be done? I have googled and read multiple articles and blogs but there is no clear guideline to follow, If anyone here has experience of SonarQube integration with IBM WCS, please let me know where to start from and what to do to get code coverage.
I have read somewhere that there is a Sonar plugin for IBM RAD but it was also written that it is deprecated now, then what is now being used in place of that plugin?
The SonarQube platform offers static code analysis, so not only is there no need for integration, but there's also no possibility.
As I remember, WebSphere runs Java code, so you simply need to check out your project, compile it, and analyze it.
That assumes you've set up a SonarQube server (it's a free download). Then you're ready to analyze.

Installer tools suggestions

I need to create an Installer for my company's product. Can anyone please suggest some tools to start with.
Requirements are:
Support for copying/editing/extracting etc
Support for Ant based targets
Support for adding custom Java code in the workflow
If JRE can be bundled along.
Need to bundle following application server: JBoss, Weblogic, Websphere
Cross platform support (Win/Linux/Solaris)
Support 32-bit and 64-bit platforms
Cloud support - To check for upgrades, download and install. Check for available patches etc.
Customizable by customers for adding their custom changes
Suggestions please.
Regards,
I have used Opsware (now HP)before, but it's not free. It will basically kick off RPMs or batch scripts to do the job. But you can simply create those without the product.

Impacts of using Jetty 9.2 with Spark-Java

I want to use Spark-Java 2.0 with Jetty 9.2. The trick here is that the Maven repository for Spark has dependency on jetty 9.0. The reason is that we already have working code using 9.2. When we bind/load the Spark jar at runtime there are class load errors.
The question is what issues may arise for Spark if I do a build to use jetty 9.2?
They other question could be, can I use excludes some how to load Jetty 9.2 over the 'requested' 9.0 classes? Is that possible, or will it cause me more bother?
Let me know if you think of other considerations. Also let me know where to find release notes for Jetty if you can? I looked for Jetty release notes here: Jetty Documentation hub; it is a little disappointing because they simply link to updated manuals. I look for Release Notes to show me what's different and changed between versions -- A new manual won't help unless I have a way to do 'diff' on the two manuals.
My thinking is that a jump between 9.0 to 9.2 should be a valid increment. My thanks in advance for your insights.

integrate commerce server with a Continuous integration server

Our main application uses Commerce Server 2002, we are currently in the process of upgrading to 2009. I am looking into setting up CC.net for both apps. I have it pulling from SVN and starting the build but it will fail because Commerce Server is not installed so the DLL's are not there.
I don't really want to do a full install of Commerce Server on the CI Server if I can avoid it. Does anyone have any experience / advice on setting up the CI Server / repo / project so that It would build without CS installed. currently we do not have any unit tests so that part is not an issue, its getting it to build and being able to do things like FXCop, etc.
Thanks
As far as I can see, there is no problem in put just the core DLLs of Commerce Server in a "References" directory created under the same structure of your source code.
I have been using this approach in many projects without problems so far.
Maybe, the only problem you'll have now (since you are not using this approach) is that you'll need to refactor a bit your solution to put the references.

Alex
