GWT, Maven, Spring - Getting com.thoughtworks.qdox.parser.ParseException: syntax error on Maven Build - spring

I am trying to integrate the code from this demo: http://code.google.com/p/gwt-spring-starter-app/ into my main Spring application. I am able to run the gwt-spring-start-app as itself but when I integrate it into an existing Spring app that has a lot of non-GWT classes I am getting the error (on maven build): com.thoughtworks.qdox.parser.ParseException: syntax error
I've spent a while searching on this and seems others have the same problem but I just can't comprehend what they say to do to fix it.. I believe its an issue with the pom and some sort of dependency declaration that shouldn't be there or something but can't figure out what.. I would greatly appreciate if anyone can take a look at the pom below and let me know if you know what could be causing this. Thanks

The /home/user/Desktop/JFDemoGWTFork/src/main/java/org/apache/lucene/queryParser/QueryParser.java is just some apache lib file that I included as source.. from the other posts I found that were sort of for the same issue it seems it will do this for many / all (?) classes that aren't the specific GWT RPC related classes

Change the gwt-maven-plugin version to 2.1.0-1.

I don't know if it is my jar's the problem or what.
Why you use 3.0-alpha-1 ?
Try this :
<dependency>
<groupId>javax</groupId>
<artifactId>javaee-api</artifactId>
<version>6.0</version>
<scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>javax.servlet</groupId>
<artifactId>servlet-api</artifactId>
<version>2.5</version>
<scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>
I finally solve the problem. In fact there was a problem with the servlet-api version. I'm using spring configuration class not the xml configuration so it works for Servlet 3.0 + but the scope in the dependency was provided meaning that the dependency was solved by the system at compile time( probably by tomcat). I just change the dependency and remove the scope provided.
<!--Servlet-->
<dependency>
<groupId>javax.servlet</groupId>
<artifactId>javax.servlet-api</artifactId>
<version>4.0.0-b01</version>
</dependency>
Another soluion can be using spring-boot

Error while building Spring MVC application

I am new at Spring framework. I have Spring Tool Suite Version 3.1.0 installed with JDK 1.7 on my system.
Recently I imported into my IDE a pre-built Spring MVC project already working on another system. But when I am trying to build it, it is giving the following error :-

Even when I am importing the project as a Maven Project, after retrieving listings, it giving the following errors :-
Can you check the contents of the folder in following path.
C:\Users\{your computer user name}\.m2\repository\org\apache\maven\plugins\maven-resources-plugin\2.5
If you didn't find this folder or there is no content there then you must check the proxy configurations of the eclipse or you might be referencing to a wrong settings.xml file of maven.
Hope this helps you.

Maven + Spring + Hibernate: hibernate3-maven-plugin hbm2ddl fails for reason "Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException"

I had to downgrade Hibernate from version 4 to version 3 (3.3.2.GA to be specific), due to current lack of support for Hibernate 4 within Spring, and now the project fails to build when it attempts to generate schema with hbm2ddl. The error is too vague, and Google-ing it hasn't yielded much.
Here's my pom.xml:

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this!
I faced the same problem while trying to make maven bootstrap a database from a hibernate model (issue described in Generate database schema (Hibernate) on maven test).
I got hbm2ddl working quite well with the following combination of versions:
Hibernate (runtime): 4.1.7.Final
hibernate3-maven-plugin: 3.6.10.Final, specified plugin version 2.2
hibernate3-maven-plugin's hibernate-validator dependency: 4.2.0.Final
Below the relevant parts of the pom:
Versions:
<properties>
<org.hibernate.version>4.1.7.Final</org.hibernate.version>
<hibernate.maven.plugin.version>3.6.10.Final</hibernate.maven.plugin.version>

I hope this helps.
For a large project (more than 250 Entities), I use the following pom.xml witch works fine and generate the schema during the compile phase.
Note : persistence.xml specifies the database dialect.

Running org.mule.MuleServer in Maven causing a SecurityException

I have the following maven build profile:
<profile>
<id>runMule</id>
<activation>
<property>
<name>runMule</name>
</property>
</activation>
<build>
<plugins>

<argument>-config</argument>
<argument>mule-config.xml</argument>
</arguments>
</configuration>
</plugin>
</plugins>
</build>
</profile>
If I execute:
mvn exec:exec -DrunMule
I end with the following error:

I think it is a maven dependency conflict, but I'm not sure.
Any idea what is causing the error?
I agree, this looks like a dependency conflict. Do you have eclipse? If you do you can see the conflicts in the "Dependency hierarchy" tab of your pom. Here is a screenshot of my dependency hierarchy.
Please be mindful of others :) You're already using maven, run 'mvn dependency:tree' and 'mvn dependency:list' to troubleshoot dependency issues, this way you can also post results here.
