I'm trying to use the tag <preference> for saving the state of a <menulist>. But I can't find out of what i'm doing wrong.
Here's my code:
<preferences>
<preference id="selectpref1" name="preference.name" type="int" />
</preferences>
<menulist>
<menupopup preference="selectpref1">
<menuitem label="option 1" value="1"/>
<menuitem label="option 2" value="2"/>
<menuitem label="option 3" value="3"/>
<menuitem label="option 4" value="4"/>
</menupopup>
</menulist>
You can do it, here's code from my extension:
<hbox align="center">
<label value="Log Level" control="loglevellist" />
<menulist id="loglevellist" preference="loglevel" preference-editable="true">
<menupopup>
<menuitem label="Full" value="0" />
<menuitem label="Relevant" value ="1" />
<menuitem label="Warning" value="2" />
<menuitem label="Error" value="3" />
<menuitem label="Critical" value="4" />
</menupopup>
</menulist>
</hbox>
loglevel preference is integer. Basically I think you're only missing preference-editable attribute
EDIT:
I didn't see properly, you had preference attribute on menupopup instead on menulist - preference should go on menulist.
I'm pretty sure you can't do that. You just need to add an oncommand to each of the menuitems, which changes the preference. You might also want to add a listener for the "popupshowing" event, which checks the preference and puts a checkmark by whichever one is currently selected.

Does it have any way to make a custom path for some Show buttons?
I have a ReferecenManyField that has 2 types of components underneath and I want to redirect to the Show page of each of these components.
In my CollectionShow I have
<Show title={<CollectionTitle />} actions={<CollectionShowActions />} {...props}>
<SimpleShowLayout>
...
<ReferenceManyField label="Itens" target="collection_id" reference="collection_items">
<Datagrid bodyOptions={{ showRowHover: true }}>
<TextField source="id" />
<TextField label="Tipo" source="collectionable_type" />
<TextField label="Nome" source="collectionable.name" sortable={false} />
<TextField label="Privacidade" source="collectionable.privacy" sortable={false} />
<ShowButton />
</Datagrid>
</ReferenceManyField>
... where my collectionable_type can be either another Collection or a LearningObject.
Is there any way to make a customable URL for the ShowButton?
Maybe something like:
<ShowButton basePath={"/${collectionable_type}/${collectionable.id}"} />
The <ShowButton /> component is dedicated to creating links to a show view managed by admin-on-rest.
To make a customable URL in your Datagrid, you should create a dedicated field component as explained in the documentation Writing Your Own Field Component
I've got my customizations.xml importing ok, but when I open the Advanced Find Dialog, it tell me "Ribbon XML Validation Error":
I can't seem to get any more info than that. Below is my customizations.xml text, I've tried to simplify it as much as possible.

For others looking to find the solution, or at least something to take note of if you're having a similar problem.
My problem was that the id for the different elements were the same. You must have unique id's even among different elements. And "Mscrm.AdvancedFind.Groups.Debug._children" should have been "Mscrm.AdvancedFind.Groups.Debug.Controls._children"
Title sounds like a real mouthful, so let me try to explain this. I'm very strong with grinding out Web Forms and this is my second crack at using a framework and MVC (don't ask about the first one). Start with a table like this:
Title: Milestones
Id int - Auto, PK
Project_Id int - FK, Many Milestones to One Project, Provided static for now
Number int
Name varchar(50)
Status_Id int - FK One Status to One Milestone
PlannedDate date
LatestEstimate date
MilestoneType_ID int - FK One Type to One Milestone
These all sit on an SQL server, are pulled in by an Entity and then are pulled in by an ObjectDataSource, like this:
<asp:ObjectDataSource runat="server" ID="MilestonesObjectSource" SelectMethod="GetByProject"
DeleteMethod="DeleteMilestone" TypeName="TCProjectManagement.Models.MilestonesAddition">
<SelectParameters>
<asp:Parameter DefaultValue="6" Name="ProjectID" Type="Int32" />
</SelectParameters>
<DeleteParameters>
<asp:Parameter Type="Int32" Name="Id" />
</DeleteParameters>
<UpdateParameters>
<asp:Parameter Type="Int32" Name="Id" />
<asp:Parameter Type="Int32" Name="Number" />
<asp:Parameter Type="String" Name="Name" />
<asp:Parameter Type="Int32" Name="Status_Id" />
<asp:Parameter Type="DateTime" Name="PlannedDate" />
<asp:Parameter Type="DateTime" Name="LatestEstimate" />
<asp:Parameter Type="Int32" Name="MilestoneType_ID" />
</UpdateParameters>
</asp:ObjectDataSource>
Sofar so good. Data pull seems to work out okay. I've got a couple more Object Sources that deal exclusively with the Foriegn Keys, so I'll skip those since they seem to be working.
The problems I have are attempting to stitch together many examples that don't seem to go together well. My objectives, in no paticular order:
1) Pin Editing: Click a button to edit, click it again to confirm. Rather do this than have somebody infer to double click for a change. Sofar, this sorta works.
2) Drop Downs for Foriegn Keys: While not in edit mode, should display the "Name" field of the FK. While in edit it should be a Drop Down for options (there's only three). This stays blank dispite what I do.
3) Deletion: Press a button to blow away a row. I put the button there but it's a copy of the JS for editing. What do I need to use to have it be deletion?
4) Dates: This doesn't work at all. One of the weird parts is that from the SQL server's type of Date, it gets changed to DateTime in the Entity and stays that way throughout. However, I cannot get the desired control of ext:DateField to cooperate with the provided data since it displays a time and completely blanks out when editing.. I know I'm doing something wrong here.
5) Saving Changes: Not quite sure I set it up right (or at all).
Provisions of Javascript:
<script type="text/javascript">
var pinEditors = function (btn, pressed) {
var columnConfig = btn.column,
column = columnConfig.column;
if (pressed) {
column.pinOverComponent();
column.showComponent(columnConfig.record, true);
} else {
column.unpinOverComponent();
column.hideComponent(true);
}
};
var pinDeleters = function (btn, pressed) { };
</script>
And ASP Code:

I have a 2010 Excel Spreadsheet (OpenXML) with a textbox "LengthVariableTextBox" on it. I wish to change the textbox value (currently ##.# just as a placeholder) using the openxml SDK with VB.Net (perfered) or C#. Below is a XML fragment from drawing7.xml showing the textbox.
Thanks for the Help!

Here is the answer:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/oxmlsdk/thread/3eb9075a-de13-4f4a-a83d-c42cdb6b8e98
I'm creating a Visual Studio 2010 extension using a Package template, not an Add-in.
I want to add a menu item to the "Organize Usings" menu group that appears when you right-click in a .cs file. To do this, I need the guid and the id of that menu group.
<Button guid="myCmdSet" id="myButton" priority="0x0100" type="Button">
<Parent guid="guidSHLMainMenu (I think?)" id="???" />
<Icon guid="guidImages" id="bmpPic1" />
<Strings>
<CommandName>myCommand</CommandName>
<ButtonText>Do Stuff</ButtonText>
</Strings>
</Button>
I have looked here and here and here. Basically all around MSDN. Are these published, and does anyone know what they are?
EDIT: I found the related menu via this method, but I still don't have a way to find the menu group GUID/ID, which is what I really want.
OMG, I've spend 3 hours on this :D Here's the solution:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<CommandTable xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/2005-10-18/CommandTable" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
<Extern href="stdidcmd.h"/>
<Extern href="vsshlids.h"/>
<Extern href="msobtnid.h"/>
<Commands package="guidVSPackage1Pkg">
<Buttons>
<Button guid="guidCSharpGrpId" id="mySuperCommand" priority="0x0200" type="Button">
<Parent guid="guidCSharpGrpId" id="IDG_CSHARP_CTX_ORGANIZE" />
<Icon guid="guidImages" id="bmpPic1" />
<Strings>
<CommandName>mySuperCommand</CommandName>
<ButtonText>My super command</ButtonText>
</Strings>
</Button>
</Buttons>
<Bitmaps>
<Bitmap guid="guidImages" href="Resources\Images_32bit.bmp" usedList="bmpPic1, bmpPic2, bmpPicSearch, bmpPicX, bmpPicArrows"/>
</Bitmaps>
</Commands>
<Symbols>
<!-- This is the package guid. -->
<GuidSymbol name="guidVSPackage1Pkg" value="{F066e284-dcab-11d2-b551-00c04f68d4db}" />
<GuidSymbol name="guidCSharpGrpId" value="{5d7e7f65-a63f-46ee-84f1-990b2cab23f9}">
<IDSymbol name="IDG_CSHARP_CTX_ORGANIZE" value="0x3618" />
<IDSymbol name="mySuperCommand" value="0x0100" />
</GuidSymbol>
<GuidSymbol name="guidImages" value="{cff24f4c-767f-48ee-aff4-6bdf8218cba0}" >
<IDSymbol name="bmpPic1" value="1" />
<IDSymbol name="bmpPic2" value="2" />
<IDSymbol name="bmpPicSearch" value="3" />
<IDSymbol name="bmpPicX" value="4" />
<IDSymbol name="bmpPicArrows" value="5" />
</GuidSymbol>
</Symbols>
</CommandTable>
You must place guidCSharpGrpId and IDG_CSHARP_CTX_ORGANIZE because they're not available in "standard" set of id's. By "standard" I'mean those placed in VisualStudioIntegration\Common\Inc directory within *.h files. They're hidden in cslangsvcui.dll library.
To get these ID's I've used VS Command Table PowerToy. You can download it from here:
http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/VSCTPowerToy
Check this also as this thread:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vsx/thread/697245ac-1596-4d6a-b55c-f5b01b69a583
In case that this solution won't work for you because some guids, etc. I've put zipped project on my SkyDrive:
https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=6A19F3A9B7B8E017&id=6A19F3A9B7B8E017!16486
Hope this helps :)
