I managed to use jEditable selects, inputs and textareas quite easily, but I have problems with uploading files :
I can't manage to send $_POST values along with the $_FILES values, and no extra data is passed through submitdata...
Here is my code :
$(".photo").editable("class/save.php",
{
indicator : "<img src='img/indicator.gif'>",
type : 'ajaxupload',
submit : 'Envoyer',
cancel : 'Annuler',
tooltip : "Cliquer pour modifier...",
submitdata : {row: "photo"}
});
When I do a print_r($GLOBALS);, $_GET and $_POST arrays are empty...
Did I miss something ?
Thank you
The jeditable.ajaxupload plugin does not submit the 'submitdata' setting's.
I did some modification to the plugin to include submitdata and also the element's id in the submission (through querystring). You have to use $_GET to get the extra data.
Here is the link : https://github.com/tuupola/jquery_jeditable/pull/38/files
or you could just set the
$.ajaxFileUpload({
url: settings.target,
secureuri:false,
/// Add the following line
data : settings.submitdata,
fileElementId: 'upload',
dataType: 'html',
success: function (data, status) {
alert(data);
$(original).html(data);
original.editing = false;
},
error: function (data, status, e) {
alert(e);
}
});

I'm trying to set up a token on ajax post but is not getting recognized by the controllers method. The javascrip looks as it follows
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
jQuery('#source').change(function() {
jQuery('#fileupload').addClass('fileupload-processing');
var data = jQuery('#source option:selected').val();
jQuery.post('index.php', {
'option': 'com_tieraerzte',
'task': 'parser.importColumns',
'tmpl': 'component',
'token':'<?php echo JUtility::getToken()?>',
'app': data,
'dataType': 'html',
}, function(result) {
jQuery('td.add_column').html(result);
jQuery('button#parse.btn').show();
//edit the result here
return;
});
});
the token is getting generated and posted
in the controller I check the existance of toke but throws me Invalid Token
controller check toke
JRequest::checkToken('request') or jexit( 'Invalid Token' );
You're almost there, it's just a little mixed up. The Joomla! Form Token is generated and submitted as a input name with a value of 1. So, the token looks like this in your form:
<input type="hidden" name="1LKJFO39UKSDJF1LO8UFANL34R" value="1" />
With that in mind, when submitting via AJAX, you need to set the parameter name to your token name, with a value of 1. I accomplish something similar by just using the jQuery('selector').serialize() method:
Joomla.autoSave = function () {
jQuery.ajax({
url: "index.php?option=com_gazebos&task=product.apply&tmpl=component",
type: "POST",
data: jQuery("#product-form").serialize(),
success: function (data) {
console.log("autosaved");
}
});
};
Doing this pulls in all the form data (including the form token from the hidden input) and formats it as a query string, then sends it with the request. However, it seems to me that you might not want to do that and you are really only wanting to submit a single bit of data, not the whole form. So, let's rework your code a little bit to get the desired effect:
/**
* First, let's alias $ to jQuery inside this block,
* then setup a var to hold our select list dom object.
*/
jQuery(document).ready(function ($) {
var sourceSelect = $('#source');
sourceSelect.change(function () {
$('#fileupload').addClass('fileupload-processing');
/**
* Use the token as a parameter name and 1 as the value,
* and move the dataType param to after the success method.
*/
$.post('index.php',
{
'option': 'com_tieraerzte',
'task': 'parser.importColumns',
'tmpl': 'component',
'app': sourceSelect.val(),
'<?php echo JSession::getFormToken()?>': 1
},
function(result) {
$('td.add_column').html(result);
$('button#parse.btn').show();
//edit the result here
return;
},
'html'
);
});
});
Finally, this code is assuming you have this js code either in your view.html.php or in your views/parser/tmpl/default.php. If you have it in a separate .js file, then your php code won't execute and give you the token.
In your ajax call method use url as :
$.ajax({
url: '/index.php?option=com_itemreview&task=item.userReviewVote&<?php echo JSession::getFormToken(); ?>=1',
type: 'post',
data: {'data': submitvalue},
dataType: 'json',
success: function(response) {
}
});

Isend the some aruguments to controller using ajax but it does not return the value.
My concept : selected #html.dropdownlist value i send to the controller , using this value thats perfrom the get the valus for bind the property to another dropdownlist using mvc3
IGot this answer : verfif given link
verfif given link
you are passing type option in ajax twice and the url is not formatted properly
function onChange(bookid) {
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: '#Url.Action("books","subject")',
data : { bookid: bookid},
dataType: "json",
success: function (result) {
alert('success');
//do whatever you want
},
error: function(result){
}
});
};
You are passing dataType as json. So, if you want to hit the success result for $.ajax, you need to return Json from your action result instead of returning as View.
When you return as View it gives error always.
public ActionResult books(string bookid)
{
var books= service.books(projectId);
// books are stored in list format
return Json(books);
}
Hope it helps you.
I'm using Symfony2.1 with Doctrine2.1
I'd like to use AJAX for many features on my site , editing a title , rate an article , create an entity on the fly , etc.
My question is simple :
Do I need to create a JQuery function for each functionnality , like this :
$('#specific-functionality').bind('click', function(e){
var element = $(this);
e.preventDefault();
// the call
$.ajax({
url: element.attr('href'),
cache: false,
dataType: 'json',
success: function(data){
// some custom stuff : remove a loader , show some value, change some css
}
});
});
It sounds very heavy to me, so I was wondering if there's any framework on JS side, or a specific method I can use to avoid this. I was thinking about regrouping items by type of response (html_content , boolean, integer) but maybe something already exists to handle it nicely !
From what I understand, you are asking for lighter version of JQuery ajax method. There are direct get/post methods instead of using ajax.
$.get(element.attr('href'), {'id': '123'},
function(data) {
alert(data);
}
);
To configure error function
$.get(element.attr('href'), {'id': '123'}, function(data) {alert(data);})
.error(function (XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) {
var msg = jQuery.parseJSON(XMLHttpRequest.responseText);
alert(msg.Message);
});
Also, you can pass callback function to do any synchronous operations like
function LoadData(cb)
{
$.get(element.attr('href'), { 'test': test }, cb);
}
And call
LoadData(function(data) {
alert(data);
otherstatements;
});
For progress bar, you use JQuery ajaxStart and ajaxStop functions instead of manually hiding and showing it. Note, it gets fired for every JQuery AJAX operation on the page.
$('#progress')
.ajaxStart(function () {
//disable the submit button
$(this).show();
})
.ajaxStop(function () {
//enable the button
$(this).hide();
});
Instead of $('#specific-functionality').bind('click', function(e){, try this:
$(".ajax").click(function(){
var url = $(this).attr("href") ;
var target = $(this).attr("data-target") ;
if (target=="undefined"){
alert("You forgot the target");
return false ;
}
$.ajax(....
And in html
<a class="ajax" href="..." data-target="#some_id">click here </a>
I think it is the simplest solution. If you want some link to work via ajax, just give it class "ajax" and put data-target to where it should output results. All custom stuff could be placed in these data-something properties.
Into the "data" line of my AJAX code, I would like to send one more parameter (called "action") from serialize(). The 'data' line would look like this (obviously it doesn't work) :
$('.input_inscription').blur(function(){
var myInput = $(this);
$.ajax({
dataType: 'json',
type: "POST",
url: "my_url.php",
data:myInput.serialize()+"&action='input_control'",
success: function(data){
if (data.a == true){
$(".inscription_form_ctrl").text( data.b );
}else{
$(".inscription_form_ctrl").text( data.b );
}
}
});
});
Ps: I serialize a input field, not a form ! So i need to add the "action" parameter "manually" (it can't be a hidden input for example).
Could you share a little more of your code to get a clearer idea of what you are doing?
Anyway,
If you do wish to pass the data through the url, you might as well append the &action="input_control" to the form action attribute if you are using a form, like so
<form action="next.php?action='input_control'" method="POST" >
I am trying to post an array of check box ids to an action in my controller. Here is the script from my index.ctp:
<script type="text/javascript">
$('.editSel_dialog').click(function()
{
var selected = [];
alert('Edit Selected Has Been Clicked');
$("#[id*=LocalClocks]").each(function()
{
if(false != $(this).is(':checked'))
{
selected.push($(this).attr('id').replace('LocalClocks', ''));
}
});
alert(selected);
/*$.ajax(
{
type: 'POST',
url: "/LocalClocks/editSelected/",
data: selected,
traditional: true,
//contentType: "application/json",
dataType: "text",
success: function(data){ alert(data); alert('Edit Success');}
});*/
$.post('/LocalClocks/editSelected', { "Session" : selected }, function(data){
alert(data);
});
});
</script>
I have both an ajax request and a post request. I was using the ajax until I saw that the post can actually modify a php variable. The code in the braces { "Session" : selected } should modify the Session variable with the array selected.
I tried using debug on $this->data, and $this->request->data, and $_POST, but they all are empty.
I need help getting the selected array written to a variable or something. I was thinking of trying to write to $this->Session but I am not sure how I would go about doing that.
Thanks in advance
With Cake, to get posted values in $this->request->data, their names have to be prefixed with data:
Javascript:
$.post('/LocalClocks/editSelected', { "data[Session][selected]" : selected }, function(data){
alert(data);
});
Controller:
function editSelected()
{
if($this->request->is('post'))
{
if(isset($this->request->data['Session']['selected']))
{
$this->Session->write('selected', $this->request->data['Session']['selected']);
}
}
}
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you cannot do that directly from the client side using ajax. Can you share the source your statement regarding you can modify the php variable? I googled for that with no luck, and it will be weird to me being able to modify the PHP session.. it would be really insecure, saying you could use Session Fixation/Injection or other malicious techniques
Edited
For assigning the value on a existing variable you need
Make the ajax call
$.post('/LocalClocks/editSelected', { "selected" : selected }, function(data){
alert(data);
});
and on your controller you'll have a function like this
function editSelected($selected){
$_SESSION["selected"] = $selected;
}
and voila
