I am trying to format column headers in my Matrix report on an RDLC report. I have the columns specified as DateTime in my dataset and if I leave the column alone Ex:
=Fields!FinancialsTableMonthYear.Value
It displays fine Ex: 1/1/2009 | 2/1/2009 | 3/1/2009 Etc...
But if I try and put any formatting on the column header Ex:
=MonthName(Fields!FinancialsTableMonthYear.Value, true)
It will display Ex: #Error | #Error | #Error Etc...
I have also tried Ex:
=Year(Fields!FinancialsTableMonthYear.Value)
Any ideas?
You should use =MonthName(Month(Fields!FinancialsTableMonthYear.Value))
If you want to show the name of the month, you can use this format:
Format(Fields!FinancialsTableMonthYear.Value, "MMM")
Change the "MMM" to any format you want.

Given the following dataset in one sheet, let's say 'Product Types' (columns and headers displayed):
| A | B | C |
| :----------: | :------: | :-----: |
| Product Type | Desktops | Laptops |
| Desktops | Dell | Dell |
| Laptops | HP | Apple |
In another sheet, let's say 'Assets', I've set column A to require a match to the data validation of an item listed in column A of 'Product Types' (not including the header). What I'm trying to do is that once column A is selected in 'Assets', I'd like to create a dynamic query data validation that will then present the values of the column with the header in 'Product Types'.
As an example, in the 'Assets' sheet, if column A has "Laptops" selected, column B will use data validation for values under the "Laptops" column in 'Product Types'; then giving the only options as "Dell" or "Apple". Alternatively, if ColA is changed to "Desktops", data validation is defined to only allow "Dell" or "HP" as options.
I'm unsure if this is possible. However, data validation in Google Sheets claims to allow a range or "formula".
I don't remember where I sourced this formula from, but it can present the values I need when running the query within a cell. However, I'm unable to use the same formula within a data validation field.
=ARRAYFORMULA(IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A2, TRANSPOSE({'Product Types'!A1:M1;
REGEXREPLACE(TRIM(QUERY(IF('Product Types'!A2:M<>"", 'Product Types'!A2:M&",", )
,,999^99)), ",$", )}), 2, 0)))
The above query presents the correct comma-separated values of the column I want in 'Product Types', but I'm not sure if this can be translated into something data validation can use or if there's altogether a different method to accomplish this.
P.S. I'm new. Markdown for the table seems to work when editing, but not when published..
the answer is no. data validation does not support direct input of complex formulae. you will need to run your formula in some column and then reference the range of that column within the data validation
I am a newbie in UIPath.
I have a DataTable with these headers:
1.) Date
2.) Error
I want to extract a Distinct Date for every error, and use this code:
dtQuery = ExtractDataTable.DefaultView.ToTable(True,{"Date","Error"})
With this, I get my desired result. My problem is how can I append (a new Column, "Count") EACH COUNT of DISTINCT VALUES given? For Example:
DATE | ERROR | COUNT
2/27/2019 | Admin Query String |
2/27/2019 | 404 Shield |
2/26/2019 | 404 Shield |
2/25/2019 | 404 Shield |
2/25/2019 | Admin Query String |
I tried to use ADD DATA COLUMN ACTIVITY with these properties:
Column Name = "COUNT"
Data Table = dtQuery
DefaultValue = ExtractDataTable.DefaultView.ToTable(True,{"Date","Error"}).Rows.Count
But by using this, it gives me this:
DATE | ERROR | COUNT
2/27/2019 | Admin Query String | 5
2/27/2019 | 404 Shield | 5
2/26/2019 | 404 Shield | 5
2/25/2019 | 404 Shield | 5
2/25/2019 | Admin Query String | 5
Thanks in advance! Happy coding!
After hours of research, here is what I learned.
I can iterate on each item of the datatable by using FOR EACH ROW Activity.
So for every row item of my dtQuery, I add ASSIGN Activity that looks like this:
row(2) = [item i want to add]
But that doesn't answer my question. I want to know the count of each unique item with 2 criteria - They are same DATE and ERROR.
Maybe I can code directly on the Excel File?
So I researched for Excel Formula that looks like "Select Distinct Col1....etc."
I found this video tutorial, hope it might help: Countif
But its only for a single criterion, so I found this: Countifs
So to wrap it up,
For Each Row Image
1.) I loop inside dtQuery using For Each Row Activity
2.) Inside loop, I add Assign Activity with this code
row(2) = "=COUNTIFS('LookUp Sheet'!B:B,'Result Sheet'!A" & indexerRow + 2 & ",'LookUp Sheet'!D:D,'Result Sheet'!B" & indexerRow + 2 & ")"
Hope this help others who will be stumbling upon the same problem. Happy Automating! ^_^
In my webix datatable, I am showing multiple values in the cells for some columns.
To identify which values belong to which header, I have separated the column headers by a '|' (pipe) and similarly the values under them as well.
Now, in place of delimiting the columns by '|' , I need to split the columns into some editable columns with the same name.
Please refer to this snippet : https://webix.com/snippet/8ce1148e
In this above snippet, for example the Scores column will be split into two more editable columns as Rank and Vote. Similarly for Place column into Type and Name.
How the values of the first array elements is shown under each of them will remain as is.
How can this be done ?
Thanks
While creating the column configuration for webix, you can provide array to the header field for the first column along with the colspan like below:
var columns = [];
columns[0] =
{"id":"From", "header":[{"text":"Date","colspan":2},{"text":"From"}]};
columns[1] =
{"id":"To","header":[null, {"text":"To"}]};
column[0] will create Date and From and column[1] will be creating the To.
I want to hide the last column for matrix in SSRS.
The column is in number format.
I have try the column visibility with expression like
IIF(Fields!abc.Value = Last(Fields!abc.Value), true, false)
but it didnt work. It still show all columns.
Is it my last function use incorrectly?
Any other way to do this ?
I have been trying to come up with a birt report to print food tag to no avail. What i want to show on the report is:
foodtag1 | foodtag2 | foodtag3
foodtag4 | foodtag5 | foodtag6
foodtag7 | foodtag8 | foodtag9
Can this be done?
the data is taken from a MySql Query "select dishes.name
from dishes
where find_in_set (dishes.id,(select orders.dishes from orders where orders.id = ))"
** Note: FoodTags 1-9 are all unique name of dishes
** Also note that foodtag 1-9 are representatives of a dish name. FoodTag1 can be "Yang Zhou Fried Rice", it can be "italian Pasta". it can be "Mee Goreng". Data is taken out from a datasource in MYSQL server
The easiest way--
Drag a grid element to your report, set it at 3 columns and 3 rows
In property editor, bind the grid to the data set
Drag a dynamic text element to the first cell in the grid
Then use JavaScript simular to this to filter to the desired text.
if (row["FoodTagColumn"]=='foodtag1'){
row["FoodTagColumn"]
}else null
