The code line is:
$lists['published'] = JHTML::_('select.booleanlist', 'published' ,
'class="inputbox"', $row->published);
I found it at
http://www.phpeveryday.com/articles/Joomla-Component-Creating-Form-Input-Data-at-Back-End-P44.html
You can do a search on the page for the code segment.
The problem is with JHTML::_( parameters ).
I looked into this Joomla! documentation page:
http://docs.joomla.org/API15:JHTML/, but as a novice Joomla! programmer I couldn't understand the parameters. Can anyone help me understand the parameters please?
I thought this forum would be quicker in response than the mentioned site.
ADDED LATER:
Following two lines are from:
http://www.phpeveryday.com/articles/Joomla-Component-Saving-Data-to-Database-P45.html
$checked = JHTML::_('grid.id', $i, $row->id);
$published = JHTML::_('grid.published', $row, $i);
What is the explanation of grid.id and grid.published please?
$lists['published'] =
JHTML::_('select.booleanlist',
'published' , 'class="inputbox"',
$row->published);
Its nothing but html generation for boolean type data. This will generate the html of radio list with two options yes and no.
First argument is html for which type
of element
Second is name of radio
list
Third is any attributes need to
add to html of radio list
Forth is for the value which should be selected
$checked = JHTML::_('grid.id', $i,
$row->id);
This is used to show the check-boxes according to id.
Second argu is the counter of row, and third argu is the id value of the chekbox.
$published = JHTML::_('grid.published', $row, $i);
This is used to show cross and right mar in grid display in back-end. Cross mark when value is 0(no) and right mark is for 1(Yes).
Second argu s for name of field/element and third is the current value of that element.

i am using mat-radio-group to bind my data. here data & value are same. which means i have 4 value binded and all 4 value are same. So to differentiate the radio buttons i added index as last value for every radio button.
Now i want to fetch this radio button value into my typescript and also eliminate the lastcharacter(which is index). so i use ngModel & ngModelChange.
I can get the output. but the `mat-radio-button' is not selecting
Here is my code
`
<mat-radio-group class="radioButtonAxis" [(ngModel)]="ngM_Fax" (ngModelChange)="onFaxChange($event)">
<mat-radio-button *ngFor='let data of resultSet;index as i' [value]='data.Fax+i'>{{data.Fax}}</mat-radio-button>
</mat-radio-group>
onFaxChange(value){
this.ngM_Fax = value.substring(0, value.length - 1);
}
`
expecting your help on this.
You are using ngModel wrong. The right value is always in this.ngM_Fax, but it has to match 100% [value]. If you want to use the variable without the index, i would suggest to use an extra variable.
Here is a working StackBlitz.
I know i can get all segments from url like this
Lets say i have this example link
www.example.com/de/products.html
Using url_helper like this:
$data['url'] = $this->uri->uri_string();
I will get value like this
de/products
But i dont need first segment de, only products, the problem is that
i dont know how many segments it will be, i only need to remove the first
Is there possible to forget first segment with url helper in CI?
Try like this...
Use the php's explode() function to make the url string as array.Then apply array's array_shift() function which always removes the first element from array.
Code is looks like as below
$data= $this->uri->uri_string();
$arr=explode('/', $data);
array_shift($arr);
//print_r($arr);
Then use the php's implode() method to get the URI without first segment.Hope it will works...
$uri=implode('/',$arr);
echo $uri;
There is no URL helper in the CI to forget the first segment. However you can easily make a custom one and put #Hikmat's answer below it in the application/helpers/MY_url_helper.php in the Core folder.
e.g.
function my_forget_first_segment() {
$data= $this->uri->uri_string();
$arr=explode('/', $data);
array_shift($arr);
$uri=implode('/',$arr);
return $uri;
}
Before Edit answer.
You need to try this
$second_segment = $this->uri->segment(2);
From Codeigniter documentation -
$this->uri->segment(n);
Permits you to retrieve a specific segment. Where n is the segment number you wish to retrieve. Segments are numbered from left to right. For example, if your full URL is this:
http://example.com/index.php/news/local/metro/crime_is_up
The segment numbers would be this:
1. news
2. local
3. metro
4. crime_is_up
The optional second parameter defaults to NULL and allows you to set the return value of this method when the requested URI segment is missing. For example, this would tell the method to return the number zero in the event of failure:
$product_id = $this->uri->segment(3, 0);
example:
<?php
$data=$this->uri->segment(2);
$val=explode('.', $data);
echo $val[0];
?>
I want to make 3 dependents drop down list, each drop down dependent to the previous drop down, so when I select an item from first drop down , all data fetch from database and add to second drop down as item.
I know how to do this in a normal php page using ajax, but as opencart uses MVC I don't know how can I get the selected value
Basically, you need two things:
(1) Handling list changes
Add an event handler to each list that gets its selected value when it changes (the part that you already know), detailed tutorial here in case someone needed it
Just a suggestion (for code optimization), instead of associating a separate JS function to each list and repeating the code, you can write the function once, pass it the ID of the changing list along with the ID of the depending list and use it anywhere.
Your HTML should look like
<select id="list1" onchange="populateList('list1', 'list2')">
...
</select>
<select id="list2" onchange="populateList('list2', 'list3')">
...
</select>
<select id="list3">
...
</select>
and your JS
function populateList(listID, depListID)
{
// get the value of the changed list thorugh fetching the elment with ID "listID"
var listValue = ...
// get the values to be set in the depending list through AJAX
var depListValues = ...
// populate the depending list (element with ID "depListID")
}
(2) Populating the depending list
Send the value through AJAX to the appropriate PHP function and get the values back to update the depending list (the part you are asking for), AJAX detailed tutorial here
open cart uses the front controller design patter for routing, the URL always looks like: bla bla bla.bla/index.php?route=x/y/z&other parameters, x = folder name that contains a set of class files, y = file name that contains a specific class, z = the function to be called in that class (if omitted, index() will be called)
So the answer for your question is:
(Step 1) Use the following URL in your AJAX request:
index.php?route=common/home/populateList
(Step 2) Open the file <OC_ROOT>/catalog/controller/common/home.php , you will find class ControllerCommonHome, add a new function with the name populateList and add your logic there
(Step 3) To use the database object, I answered that previously here
Note: if you are at the admin side, there is a security token that MUST be present in all links along with the route, use that URL:
index.php?route=common/home/populateList&token=<?php echo $this->session->data['token'] ?> and manipulate the file at the admin folder not the catalog
P.S: Whenever the user changes the selected value in list # i, you should update options in list # i + 1 and reset all the following lists list # i + 2, list # i + 3 ..., so in your case you should always reset the third list when the first list value is changed
P.P.S: A very good guide for OC 1.5.x => here (It can also be used as a reference for OC 2.x with some modifications)
I'm having some trouble using the Former plugin for Laravel, to handle forms & fields.
The use-case is an "edit"-form for a given model.
Former::text('title')
->label('Title')
->value( $title );
Former::text('description')
->label('Description')
->value( $description );
Rules:
The title must always exist and be at least 10 chars long.
The description may be empty.
Expected behaviour:
When loading the edit form, I expect the form to show the values of $title and $description in the fields.
Whenever submitting a the form with invalid field-values, I expect the submitted values to be shown in the fields, instead of the values of $title and $description.
Problem:
This works only when submitting non-empty strings!
When submitting an empty-string, it's like Former handles it like the field-hasn't even been submitted, and therefore uses the value given by $title or $description instead.
I thought Former was able to do this "smart", and take the value($variable) value only if the posted data does not contain the field. But it seems Former is taking the variables value also when the submitted was empty.
Why is this a problem?
Imagine you edit both fields, and actually want to change the title and remove the description entirely, which is valid according to the rules. Then, because you entered a too short title, the validation does not pass, and title will get the new (too short) title as field-value, while the description value will fall back to the value of the $description variable, instead of showing an empty field, which was posted.
It feels like $_POST['description'] = "" is treated like $_POST['description'] = null or is not set - even though the empty field is part of the post.
In your view
//replace
Former::text('title')
->label('Title')
->value( $title );
//with
Former::text('title')
->label('Title')
... and in your controller
//add
Former::populate($model);
$model beeing the model in question :)
$model->title must ofc exist and have the same value as $title in your original code.
if you use ->value($somevalue) with Former, $somevalue will allways be used.
Im using php and magpie and would like a general way of detecting images in feed item. I know some websites place images within the enclosure tag, others like this images[rss] and some simply add it to description. Is there any one with a general function for detecting if rss item has image and extracting image url after its been parsed by magpie?
i think reqular expressions would be needed to extract from description but im a noob at those. Please help if you can.
I spent ages searching for a way of displaying images in RSS via Magpie myself, and in the end I had to examine the code to figure out how to get it to work.
Like you say, the reason Magpie doesn't pick up images in the element is because they are specified using the 'enclosure' tag, which is an empty tag where the information is in the attributes, e.g.
<enclosure url="http://www.mysite.com/myphoto.jpg" length="14478" type="image/jpeg" />
As a hack to get it to work quickly for me I added the following lines of code into rss_parse.inc:
function feed_start_element($p, $element, &$attrs) {
...
if ( $el == 'channel' )
{
$this->inchannel = true;
}
...
// START EDIT - add this elseif condition to the if ($el=xxx) statement.
// Checks if element is enclosure tag, and if so store the attribute values
elseif ($el == 'enclosure' ) {
if ( isset($attrs['url']) ) {
$this->current_item['enclosure_url'] = $attrs['url'];
$this->current_item['enclosure_type'] = $attrs['type'];
$this->current_item['enclosure_length'] = $attrs['length'];
}
}
// END EDIT
...
}
The url to the image is in $myRSSitem['enclosure_url'] and the size is in $myRSSitem['enclosure_length'].
Note that enclosure tags can refer to many types of media, so first check if the type is actually an image by checking $myRSSitem['enclosure_type'].
Maybe someone else has a better suggestion and I'm sure this could be done more elegantly to pick up attributes from other empty tags, but I needed a v quick fix (deadline pressures) but I hope this might help someone else in difficulty!
