This is normal way of displaying an image:
local img = display.newImage("image.png");
But doesn't it save memory to put all your images in one large image and export from Zwoptex? There is documentation for creating animated sprites from sprite sheets, but what about just pulling a single image from a sprite sheet?
local zwoptexData = require "sheet1"
local data = zwoptexData.getSpriteSheetData()
//then what?
The commands to make a static image from a tile sheet look like this:
local tileSheet = sprite.newSpriteSheet("tiles.png", 64, 64)
local tileSet = sprite.newSpriteSet(tileSheet, 1, 10)
local tile = sprite.newSprite(tileSet)
tile.currentFrame = 5
That assumes all the tiles on the sheet are 64x64 but you could easily adapt those commands to use your sprite sheet data. The important things to note are newSprite() and .currentFrame
EDIT: You commented that you can't figure out how to use sprite data with this, so the modified code is
local data = require("tiles.lua")
local tileSheet = sprite.newSpriteSheetFromData("tiles.png", data.getSpriteSheetData())
local tileSet = sprite.newSpriteSet(tileSheet, 1, 3)
local tile = sprite.newSprite(tileSet)
tile.currentFrame = 2

Looking for some help in figuring out how to write a script to crop images in Indesign. The images are of two sides of an object, so usually I drag the image in from the folder, copy it and crop both images vertically so I end up with separate objects for the left-hand(front) and right-hand(back) sides of whatever I'm playing with.
I had a search of forums but most of the scripts I found were aimed at a simple resize rather than basically cutting an image in half vertically while leaving the size unchanged - can anyone help me get started on this?
Thanks!
Try this:
var sel = app.selection[0];
app.copy();
var gb = sel.geometricBounds;
gb[3] -= (gb[3]-gb[1])/2;
sel.geometricBounds = gb;
app.pasteInPlace();
var sel = app.selection[0];
var gb = sel.geometricBounds;
gb[1] += (gb[3]-gb[1])/2;
sel.geometricBounds = gb;
It 'crops' selected image (left-hand half), copy/pastes (inplace) the image again and crops its again (right-hand half)
I want to crop an image with Google App Script if an image outside the page frame, but as far as I checked in Google App Script documentation and I could not find a way to crop the image.
pageElements.asImage().replace (imgBlob, true); it is not allowed to pass cropping dimensions as parameters in .replace() to crop a image.
i know this can be achieved using a custom API , passing the image blob and crop area that will call cropping method on another server.
But how it will be possible to work with Google App Script, looking for expert advice.
How about this answer?
Issue:
I think that in the current stage, replace(blobSource, crop) has the limitation. The official document says as follows.
crop Boolean: If true, crops the image to fit the existing image's size. Otherwise, the image is scaled and centered.
I confirmed that when the image is cropped using replace(blobSource, crop), the center of image is left. It seems that this is the current specification. And although there is the "cropProperties" of "UpdateImagePropertiesRequest" in Slides API, unfortunately, in the current stage, this cannot be still used. This has already been reported. Ref
Sample script:
If you use replace(blobSource, crop) under the current specification, how about the following sample script? As the sample situation, 2 images of "image1" and "image2" are prepared in the 1st slide, and "image1" is cropped using "image2".
The flow of this script is as follows.
Flow:
Retrieve 2 images from a slide on Google Slides.
Crop "image1" using "image2". By this, "image2" is replaced with "image1".
Move the cropped image to "image1".
Remove the original "image1".
Script:
function myFunction() {
// 1. Retrieve 2 images from a slide on Google Slides.
var slide = SlidesApp.getActivePresentation().getSlides()[0];
var images = slide.getImages();
var image1 = images[0]; // Red image.
var image2 = images[1]; // Blue image.
// 2. Crop "image1" using "image2". By this, "image2" is replaced with "image1".
var replacedImage = image2.replace(image1.getBlob(), true);
// 3. Move the cropped image to "image1".
replacedImage.setTop(image1.getTop()).setLeft(image1.getLeft());
// 4. Remove the original "image1".
image1.remove();
}
Result:
When the script is run, "image1" is cropped. But it is found that in the current stage, the center of "image1" is left by the crop.
Note:
Slides API and Slides Service are growing now. So I think that this situation might be changed by the future update. But if you want this soon, how about requesting this to the issue tracker as the future request? Ref

Added:
At an additional sample script for using replace(blobSource, crop), I would like to propose the method for using the self image. In this sample script, when the image is sticked out, the image of out of page is removed by cropping. The basic method is the same with above sample script.
Sample script:
function myFunction() {
var s = SlidesApp.getActivePresentation();
var slide = s.getSlides()[0];
var images = slide.getImages();
var image = images[0];
var pageWidth = s.getPageWidth();
var imagePosition = image.getLeft();
var imageWidth = image.getWidth();
var check = imagePosition + imageWidth - pageWidth;
if (check > 0 && check < imageWidth) {
image
.duplicate()
.setWidth(pageWidth - imagePosition)
.asImage()
.replace(image.getBlob(), true);
image.remove();
}
}
Result:
Note:
In this sample script, as a simple sample, I prepared only the right side of the horizontal direction. So when you want to remove the vertical direction, please modify the script for your actual situation.
I am attempting to convert a 1x8 array into an image, I know that the resulting image would be tiny. I do that using the following code:
filename = fullfile('/Users/jlmontalvo/Documents/MATLAB/train_data.csv');
T = readtable(filename);
C1 = [];
t = T(1,:);
a = t.Variables;
a(end) = []; %getting rid of the last value
test = getimage(imshow(a, [])); %display image
imwrite(test,'/Users/jlmontalvo/Desktop/hello.png'); %store image
the issue is that the image that MATLAB displays looks like this:
but the one that is actually saved is completely different and looks like this:
Why is this?
getimage gets the data displayed. That is, after
test = getimage(imshow(a, []));
test is identical to a.
You are showing the image with contrast stretch, making the smallest value black and the largest value white. But retrieving the data from those axes does not take any of that into account, it simply returns the displayed data.
Instead, you could stretch the data yourself:
test = double(a);
test = test - min(test(:));
test = test / max(test(:));
How to make '.gif' image from a set of '.jpg' images (say: I1.jpg, I2.jpg,..., I10.jpg) in matlab?
Ok here is a simple example. I got an image with a unicorn on it and remove 2 part to create 3 different images, just for the sake of creating an animated gif. Here is what it looks like:
clear
clc
%// Image source: http:\\giantbomb.com
A = rgb2gray(imread('Unicorn1.jpg'));
B = rgb2gray(imread('Unicorn2.jpg'));
C = rgb2gray(imread('Unicorn3.jpg'));
ImageCell = {A;B;C};
figure;
subplot(131)
imshow(A)
subplot(132)
imshow(B)
subplot(133)
imshow(C)
%// Just to show what the images look like (I removed spots to make sure there was an animation created):
%// Create file name.
FileName = 'UnicornAnimation.gif';
for k = 1:numel(ImageCell)
if k ==1
%// For 1st image, start the 'LoopCount'.
imwrite(ImageCell{k},FileName,'gif','LoopCount',Inf,'DelayTime',1);
else
imwrite(ImageCell{k},FileName,'gif','WriteMode','append','DelayTime',1);
end
end
As you see, its not that different from the example on the Mathworks website. Here my images are in a cell array but yours might be in a regular array or something else.That should work fine; when I open 'UnicornAnimation.gif' it is indeed a nice animation!
Hope that helps!
I'm new to easeljs and was wondering how would you split an image into a given number of pieces. From what I've gathered so far, I'm supposed to use SpriteSheets to accomplish this. However, the only tutorials I've seen are ones with multiple images in one Spritesheet, not one image divided into multiple images and put into a SpriteSheet.
This is my code so far (I know that the variable frames is undefined since I cannot properly access the spriteSheet array yet):
var data = {
images: ["/images/teemo.png"],
frames: {width:50, height:50}
};
var spriteSheet = new createjs.SpriteSheet(data);
console.log(spriteSheet);
console.log(spriteSheet[frames]);
var frames = spriteSheet[frames];
console.log(frames);
for (var i=0; i<frames.length; i++){
var bmp = new createjs.Bitmap(SpriteSheet[frames][i]);
}
A spritesheet is an interesting way (although not really the intent of the class). Your usage is wrong though.
Create a Spritesheet
Create Sprite instances (called BitmapAnimation in EaselJS 0.6.1 and earlier), each pointing at the same SpriteSheet instance
Use sprite.gotoAndStop(frame) to have each instance show a different piece
Here is an example:
for (var i=0; i< numberOfImages; i++) {
var sprite = new createsjs.Sprite(spriteSheetData);
sprite.gotoAndStop(i);
stage.addChild(sprite);
// Other stuff
}
You can also crop out a piece of an image using a Bitmap and the sourceRect property, which takes a Rectangle to define the crop area. This ends up being roughly the same as the above approach, but might be more work to determine each Rectangle dimensions.
Cheers.
