sql server 2008 reporting design layout - visual-studio-2010

I have set up a reporting tool using sql server 2008 R2 with a single report containing 4 datasets on a single page. Each dataset is basically a table and a chart. I would like to have it set up in such a way as to have two datasets on one page of the report and the others on the next page.
Is there anyway to format the layout of a single report or would I have to design a second report and call that from the first somehow and if so how do I do that?
These reports will be later binded to a web application using the reportviewer but not sure if this is possible with visual studio 2010.

Add a page break. You'll maybe need to add an extra rectangle per page to hold the table and chart controls for that page (been some time since I designed a report, sorry)

Is the Drill Through (or Drill Down) functionality for RDLC report only available for web applications?

We have several Crystal Reports that are used in a Windows Form application that we are re-creating using RDLC. One of the reports needs the ability to drill through (or down) to more detailed data. I've followed several examples (mostly for SSRS) to enable the drill through functionality in the RDLC report but I can never get it to work. Its like the drill through logic is being ignored. I never get the "hand" to appear. I've even tried using "Go to URL" for the action and that doesn't work.
Is this functionality only available for SSRS or web applications?

The information of header and footer section is missing on last few pages of a RDLC report

I am new to the forum. Nice to meet all of you.
I am facing the problem that the header and footer section are missing on last 17 pages of RDLC report. However, the previous 60+ pages of report is worked well. The header and footer section is containing both static and dynamic data.
After I go to find the solution, I found that the operation code of report should be no problem and the only thing that may be problem is the things on layout may cause the error.
I also try to make the report with two export: PDF and EXCEL.I found that only PDF have this problem but EXCEL don't have this kind of problem. However, I cant find the problem to change the layout.
I am using SQL server management studio to manage database, Microsoft Dynamic Nav 2013 to get the data from database ,Visual Studio 2010 to manage layout of report.
Thus, hope you guys could suggest some idea for me as this types of problem don't have any discussion on internet.
After my mind is dropping into hell and try to change setting of the places that may be cause the error in more than 10 hours, I finally found the solution!!!
In my report body content, it has a list1 tablix to contain a rectangle that contains two tables to show the list of transactions.I just change the KeepTogether to "True" in the properties of the two tables, the list1 tablix, and the rectangle. And change the PointBreak to "end" for list1 tablix.
Thus, the report is worked well in PDF export.

CRM Online 2015 Update 1 charts show all data from the underlying views until the charts are manually refreshed

In CRM Online 2015 Update 1 instances I experience charts on forms not showing the correct data until they are manually refreshed.
Charts in general show all data from the underlying view when the form is loaded. Only after manually refreshing a certain chart does it show "Only Related Records".
As an example, I have added a chart to the Account entity as seen below. Both the chart and the shown subgrid are using the same view. Even though there is only 1 related record the chart shows all data from "My Open Opportunities" after form load:
After refreshing the chart by clicking the small recycle-icon the correct data related to the current record (in this case 1) is shown:
I have tested this in 3 different CRM Online 2015 Update 1 instances which all exhibit the same behavior. Additionally, this is seen for both system and custom entities.
A similar chart setup in CRM Online 2015 without Update 1 works as expected.
I've got the same problem.
Microsoft has changed how they load forms. For now, you can switch back to the old way by going to Settings -> Administration -> System Settings -> General tab, and selecting Yes for “Use legacy form rendering”
This is only a temporary measure as that option is likely to be removed, but maybe Microsoft will support charts in forms or whatever the issue is by then.
PS:
Drawback is that the new way of loading forms is much faster, so you'll lose som e time if you switch back.
I Haven't tested this yet, but maybe you could add some javascript on the onLoad event to automatically select the view, like your users have to do now manually:
Xrm.Page.getControl(subgridname).getViewSelector().setCurrentView(viewname);
but this isn't pretty either
This issue is supposed to be fixed in Service Update 1 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 7.1.1. From the changelog: "Charts within a subgrid are displaying all records when they should actually display only related records.".
The expected release date is around the middle of December.

Crystal Reports image loading on runtime

I have some reports with many records. Those records have images. They were coming from a .NET Dataset object.
I was initially making the approach of getting the images' contents into the records using System.Byte[] Columns, but the reports took up too much time to load.
I did time profiling. It is not the dataset construction that takes too much.
I put on the table the hypothesis of the images being slowing the process.
So I tried a different approach: Instead of having pictures directly into the tables, I have filepaths.
Following the practic described in Crystal Reports User Guide, I inserted a OLE object of "Paintbrush Picture Type" and its Image's Graphic Location was ser to a database table field. Additionally I also defined a file hyperlink to be the same field.
I tried, it didn' t show the image. But clicking the hyperlink was OK.
So I added more two OLE object items in the report for testing: the first's Graphic location and hyperlink have the filepath of the first record's image. It is a .jpg file.
I created additionally a .bmp copy of that image and set the second item's filepaths to point to this image.
Tested again, hyperlinks work Ok, but no images shown directly in report .
When I click Preview on Visual Studio 2010 Crystal Reports designer I can see the images, but not in runtime.
So, what am I missing for the images to show?
additional info:
VS 2010 premium
.Net framework 4
Windows 7 64 bits
Crystal reports is integrated on Visual Studio
Thanks in advance,

After some frustrating times, it seems I have found a solution in 3 easy steps:
Uninstall every component of Crystal Reports for VS 2008
Reopen Visual Studio 2010
Clean & Rebuild Solution
If you are using CR as a component, during runtime you will notice that the top bar of the component is different: the icons have different design and at right it will say "SAP CRYSTAL REPORTS"

Why use ReportView?

Reporting is pretty new to me. I see that VS provides some Reporting controls that provides a wizard to help creating the report. My question is, if I already have stored procedures that generate the report data, what is the difference between presenting it through a reportview or gridview? Is there obvious advantage that reportview control provides that other grid controls don't?
ReportViewer in local mode (RDLC) has a lot of additional functionality
ReportViewer can do multiple tables, graphs and non-table data
ReportViewer can paginate and print data
ReportViewer has capabilities to export the report into Excel, PDF etc.
You can use ReportViewer controls to display reports generated with Sql Server Reporting Services. So if you wanted to have a report that included charts or graphics, you could create it and host it in SSRS and then include it right in your application.
A grid view can only display data in a grid. The report viewer has the capability to format data in much more sophisticated ways.
