I got the following error when running my first HelloWorld Windows phone 7 application.
Could not load the assembly file://\linkdotnet.local\linkdev\salma.mohamed\my documents\visual studio 2010\Projects\Assign1\Assign1\obj\Debug\Assign1.dll. This assembly may have been downloaded from the Web. If an assembly has been downloaded from the Web, it is flagged by Windows as being a Web file, even if it resides on the local computer. This may prevent it from being used in your project. You can change this designation by changing the file properties. Only unblock assemblies that you trust. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=179545 for more information.
Any Idea how to resolve it.
Thanks alot in advance.
I am assuming this assembly was in a zip file you downloaded from the internet? if that is the case you need to 'unblock' it. Right click the assembly within Windows Explorer, the click the 'unblock' button. See the example below:
A likely cause of this error is if you load you Windows Phone project from a network share. Visual Studio will not trust the DLLs in this case. If you move the project folder to a local machine it will work (if this is the issue in your case)
ColinE this is not that at all:
This error is typically when you didn't have followed the unlock process as requested by MS and compile on the device instead of Emulator.
To unlock, follow the MSDN steps:
Turn on your phone and if necessary unlock the phone screen.
On your phone, ensure that the date and time are correct
Using the USB cable that came with your phone, connect your phone to your computer
On your computer, the Zune software starts automatically. If Zune does not start, then start it manually.
On your computer, click Start, click All Programs, and then click Windows Phone SDK 7.1.
Click Windows Phone Developer Registration.
The application starts, as shown in the following image. Verify that the Status message displays Phone ready. Please enter your Windows Live ID and password and click "Register" to begin.
f your phone is already registered, the Status message will indicate this and you will see an Unregister button.
Enter the Windows Live ID and password that correspond to your App Hub membership.
Click Register.
As referenced in MSDN
that way you will always be able to use your phone to test your application "in situ" instead of the emulator.

I'm facing a really big problem.
I develope in VS2022 with a .net Maui application on my Windows 10 Laptop. Now I want to debug on my local iOS devices via .net Maui hot restart (https://learn.microsoft.com/de-de/dotnet/maui/deployment/hot-restart?view=net-maui-7.0).
I have an enterprise account from my company which is declared as an app-manager:
First I tried to add my enterprise account in Options>Xamarin>Apple Accounts. I just typed my user data in nothing else. I didn't downloaded any key or anything else. I tried to add it but I get the following error message:
The first time I tried to add it, it wasn't the same. I got the window to enter my code which was send on my phone. But the progress was interrupt because of a bad internet connection.
I allready contaced the apple support about this but they said if I can login in App Store Connect its not their problem and I have to contact Microsoft about this. The problem: The VS support I found wasn't free...
Sometimes when I reopen the Apple Account window my Apple-Id gets listed and also as an enterprise account. The only problem there is no Team I can select and the View Details button is not selectable:
So my question: What am I supposed to do? I need this access to work.
Thanks for your help.

You must have to login with the account holder account from your organization. That worked for me.
I have created a windows universal app with WinJS in visual studio 2015. Now I can run it from my visual studio. How can i make an exe file of the app so that i can distribute it to my friends? Is it only possible to upload in windows store?
I guess you're talking about an app for Windows 10!?
There are several ways to get this done.
The best way is to distribute it via Windows Store. You can hide the app there so that it is only visible to people who have the direct link to the app.
Your friends can download it directly from the store.
Another option is to provide the live IDs of your friends in the store. Then your friends get an email with a direct link.
The option you might actually be looking for which doesn't involve the store at all is to create an app package and to deploy this package to your friends. (See screenshot)
For Windows Store Apps you won't create an .exe-File, you only create .appx Packages.
Choose not to upload to the store in the next dialog. Then click create.
In the output directory you will find the *.appx file (not an *.exe)
You can distribute the appx via sideloading. Simply copy the content of the output folder to your friends's machine and run the ps1 script in Powershell. This will start the installation of the app.
Little hint: This requires your friends PCs to be enabled for sideloading.
You can set this in the settings dialog. See Screenshot.
In Current Windows Dev account, you can use Promotional codes to distribute the app to your friends instead of using side load.If the app is company app, I recommend by using sideload method.
I am working in Windows Phone application in which I have two projects one is Windows Phone Silverlight 8.1 and another is Windows Phone 8.1. I want to navigate from a xaml page in Windows Phone Silverlight 8.1 project to Windows Phone 8.1 Project on a button click and then return back to the page. Is there any possible way to do that?
Thanks,
Ekta
Regardless of their types, there is no way to directly navigate to a page in another app on Windows Phone. Your best option is to declare a URI association in the target app that the source app can launch with - see here for details.
As for returning to the source app, you should try to leverage the system back key if at all possible. However, if it's not going to be obvious to the user that she should hit the back key, you have two options:
Use Application.Current.Exit() to close the target app, which will
return the user to the last session in the back stack, which should
be the source app (unless the user task-switched in the interim).
Register a URI association in the source app and navigate back to
that from the target. Note that the process of registering and
handling invocation of URI association activation is different in WP
Silverlight apps - see here.
The difference between the two approaches is that if you Exit, the target app will be terminated and removed from the back stack whereas launching a URI association results in a new forward navigation and will leave the target app in the back stack.
When I try to deploy my XAP to the Windows Phone, I get the "error 0x89731812" message.
Your device has a locked screen. Unfortunately, this is not documented anywhere, but there is a discussion with some hints on page 3.
Turn on your phone (if it isn't already)
Slide open
Type your password to unlock
Retry the deployment after unlocking your screen.
EDIT: My bad (well, that of my search engine). They are documented here. Thanks keyboardP!
As I Stumbled upon this old thread I might have found a solution for this Error code.
I've had the same message as I found out that my device wasn't recognised properly in device manager.
Did some research and saw that the driver wasn't picking the right USB-port as it was registered to one of the other usb ports.
After inserting the Phone to the first USB port where it was registered the Initial first time everything went ok!
If your phone charge is very low, it won't deploy the app too.
To deploy you must:
1.Connect your wp7 phone
2.Open Zune
3.Open the deployer
4.unlock your phone (As said before)
5.Deploy
It requires an unlocked phone (without restrictions) or an Interop Unlocked Phone, and the phone mustn't have low charge.
I've developed an application for Windows Phone, and it runs well on emulator. But I want to debug the application on my phone, the samsung Omnia 7, so I changed the target from "Windows Phone Emulator" to "Windows Phone Device" in Visual Studio 2010, and hit the run button.
Then I got the error message says: "The application could not be launched for debugging. Ensure that the target device screen is unlocked and that the application is installed."
Well, I DID unlock the screen and actually, the application IS installed on my device, but the only problem is that, I can not debug it.
I've been googling around, but no good. And the OS version of my rom is 7.10.7720.68, I'm using Omnia 7, which has already been verified with my developer ID.
Anyone encountered with the same situation? Any advice?
Thanks in advance!!!
At first you need confirm did you run Zune Application and make sure your Windows phone Device have connected status then click debug button.
second。if have been set password about your start screen. when get be debuy operator before you need make your deveice at Start Screen。
three。 debug Windows phone it was need you have use Developer Account have unlock your Device already.
there all core three step。,
