Under "Personal Options", I have the option "Mark unlocked working files read-only" unchecked. Yet, every-time I checkout a file (without locking it), the file is read-only in my working directory. I assume that this due to a server policy. Is there anyway to overwrite that policy?

In the Project properties in the StarTeam cross-platform client, under the "Options" tab there is also a "Mark unlocked working files read-only". That may be overriding your personal setting.

I am trying to install a ClickOnce application and it is not working. I am told to delete the C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0 folder. However I do not even have a C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Apps folder. I have tried just creating a folder named 'Apps' there and then starting the application but I still get the same error.
Why does my computer not have a C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Apps folder?
You probably need to check "C:\Users\Nate\AppData\Roaming" and not "Local". You can see your appdata folder by typing "%appdata% in start -> run.
This is a hidden folder. Make sure that you have set your folder options to show all hidden folders, otherwise you will not see it.

Recently, I gave some folders an alias for web sharing. The folders got cut and pasted out of their original location and then restored. The aliases were lost in the process yet when I try to reassign them the same alias it complains that the alias is taken. No other folder has these aliases only they did but that was lost in the cut and paste. Is there a system file somewhere or a registry I can edit to remove them so I can reapply them? The alias names are sensitive. The OS is Windows Server 2003.
I deleted the websites from IIS, refreshed and I was able to make the alias again.

I am considering upgrading my work computer to use windows 8 as the new file transferring feature seems very useful. Unfortunately after installing windows 8 on my home pc to test it out, the files are being transferred in separate dialogs as opposed to this image provided by microsoft.
As I am transferring files constantly a single transfer dialog would make things much less confusing. Does anyone know what settings to change to make file transfers appear in the same window?
To make file transfers appear in the same window you need to transfer files locally.
This is because a network connection can break out at anytime.

Currently we can backup ubersvn server data by going to the web interface, log in, go to Administartor, Backup and follow the UI there.
My need is to do it via a command-line/batch command.
We have a blog on how to back up Subversion repositories here: http://blogs.wandisco.com/2012/03/20/how-to-backup-subversion-repositories/
However, that only backs up the Subversion data and not the uberSVN admin stuff (such as users and teams etc). Currently the only way to back this up is via the uberSVN interface.
If you have any further questions gimme a shout here: http://www.svnforum.org/forums/32-uberSVN-Help-and-Support

I can see hidden files, but cannot see superhidden.
This is not a Delphi setting or an OpenDialog setting. It's a Windows shell setting that the user can configure for herself, and you certainly shouldn't go messing with it.
If you want to change it on your own machine so that these files are visible, you can follow these steps:
Open Control Panel.
Open the Folder Options control panel.
Switch to the "View" tab.
Clear the check box labeled "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)".
Click OK.
There's an excellent answer to this question at Raymond Chen's blog: When people ask for security holes as features: Hiding files from Explorer.
