What could cause the draggable option to not be set for an element.
I have these jquery settings.
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://jqueryui.com/themes/base/jquery.ui.all.css">
<script src="http://jqueryui.com/jquery-1.5.1.js"></script>
<script src="http://jqueryui.com/ui/jquery.ui.core.js"></script>
<script src="http://jqueryui.com/ui/jquery.ui.widget.js"></script>
<script src="http://jqueryui.com/ui/jquery.ui.mouse.js"></script>
<script src="http://jqueryui.com/ui/jquery.ui.resizable.js"></script>
<script src="http://jqueryui.com/ui/jquery.ui.draggable.js"></script>
and try to turn off the draggable option in code like this.
editable.parent().draggable({disable: true});
editable.parent().draggable("option", "disable", true);
editable.parent() does find the right element, but the draggable option isn't turned off.
Thanks for your help.
1) make sure the selector is ok
2)
.draggable("disable")

I am trying to get Kendo Ui (Free Version working). I am trying to implement the date picker with the below code but alls I get is an empty input field. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this?

//var datepicker = $("#datepicker").data("kendoDatePicker");
});
</script>
</body>
</html>
You need to reference all these javascript files in order for the DatePicker to work. You can use the Kendo UI Custom Download tool to find out which javascript files you need to reference and to download a custom javascript file that contains everything you need:
<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2015.3.1111/js/kendo.core.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2015.3.1111/js/kendo.calendar.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2015.3.1111/js/kendo.popup.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2015.3.1111/js/kendo.datepicker.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2015.3.1111/js/kendo.data.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2015.3.1111/js/kendo.list.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2015.3.1111/js/kendo.combobox.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2015.3.1111/js/kendo.dropdownlist.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2015.3.1111/js/kendo.multiselect.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2015.3.1111/js/kendo.validator.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2015.3.1111/js/kendo.aspnetmvc.min.js"></script>
UPDATE:
Your text-box's id is "TimeSlot", but in your script you're referring to #datepicker which doesn't even exist. Change your script to this:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
$("#TimeSlot").kendoDatePicker();
//var datepicker = $("#TimeSlot").data("kendoDatePicker");
});
</script>
By the way, you won't need kendo.aspnetmvc.min.js if you don't want to use Kendo's Html Helpers, which is not something that I would recommend if you are using asp.net MVC. With kendo.aspnetmvc.min.js, you wouldn't even need the script, you could just replace your text-box (input tag) with this:
#(Html.Kendo().DatePicker().Name("TimeSlot"))
I am creating an application in mvc3 razor.i am using jqxnavigationbar to create navigationa panels. i added the required js and css files in the folders. below is my examle code in layout
Header 1
Content 1
Header 2
Content 2
Header 3
Content 3
below is my javascript function in header portion
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
// Create jqxNavigationBar
$("#jqxnavigationbar").jqxNavigationBar({ width: 200, height: 200 });
$("#jqxnavigationbar").bind('expandedItem', function (event) {
var index = event.item + 1;
alert("Expanded: Header " + index);
});
});
but when i run the project it shown error
$("#jqxnavigationbar").jqxNavigationBar is not a function. and navigation panels are not display in the browser.
what can i do to remove error and use jq navigation bar.
Did you put your script :
At the Top of your _Layout view ?
Your error means that the jquery nav lib has not yet extended the jquery one.
Also look at the script window from your web browser debuging tool to check if you don't load multiple jquery-1.8.3* lib, you should only have one, the full ou minified one.
I did a mistake in my head section in layout page. After adding refference of required jqxnavigationbar js and css files I added the refference of jquery-1.4.2.min.js file.so it does not work for me. Now after removing those refference the final header code is below which works fine for me.
<link rel="stylesheet" href="/Content/jqx.base.css" type="text/css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="#Url.Content("~/Content/jqx.energyblue.css")" type="text/css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/jquery-1.8.3.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/jqxcore.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/jqxnavigationbar.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/jqxexpander.js"></script>
#*AUTOCOMPLETE JQUERY FILES AND CSS FIES*#
<link href="/Content/jquery.ui.all.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
#* <script src="/Scripts/jquery-1.4.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>*#
<script src="/Scripts/jquery-ui-1.8.custom.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
#RenderSection("PageScripts",false)
put code for jqnavigation bar in javascript portion.
I used mootools scrollable(http://mootools.net/forge/p/scrollable) on my page,but it is not working.
my page: http://neyriz.net/moo/
I used it for div with id="right"
why it's not work?
You are making 2 mistakes. The first is that you try to instanciate the Scrollable before the DOM is ready and so your element doesn't exist. So you have to move your script tag either to the end of the body or you wrap it in an event listener. I.E:
window.addEvent('domready', function() {
var myScrollable = new Scrollable($('right'));
});
The second problem is that the plugin has some dependencies. In this case you need to include Slider, Element.Measure, Element.Shortcuts from MooTools more. You can go to http://mootools.net/more/ and select those 3 modules. Download the file and include it into your head between mootools-core and scrollable:
<script type="text/javascript" src="mootools-core.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="mootools-more.js"></script> INSERT MOOTOOLS MORE HERE!
<script type="text/javascript" src="scrollable.js"></script>
In general it's better when you define and load your JS files before the body. So it looks like:
<html>
<head><title>My awesome page</title></head>
<body>
<h1>My awesome page</h1>
<p>Some text</p>
<script type="text/javascript" src="mootools-core.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="mootools-more.js"></script> INSERT MOOTOOLS MORE HERE!
<script type="text/javascript" src="scrollable.js"></script>
</body>
</html>
I'm trying to use jqgrid and I got this error: $('#list').jqgrid is not a function
My js files are loaded from another url than the one my page is displayed.
Here is my head's js includes:
<script src="http://js.abc.com/js/jquery-1.5.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="http://js.abc.com/js/jquery-ui-1.8.2.custom.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="http://js.abc.com/js/jqgrid/i18n/grid.locale-en.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="http://js.abc.com/js/jquery.jqGrid.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="http://js.abc.com/js/jquery.layout.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
my js code to load the grid:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function() {
$('#list').jqgrid({});
});
</script>
When I look at the page source code and click on the js links, the js code is there.
Did I miss something?
$('#list').jqgrid({}); is really wrong. You should use
$('#list').jqGrid({});
(with capital 'G') instead.
I am using the jQuery plugin ColorBox in a Joomla! theme, and am having a hard time getting it to work in noConflict() mode. I have the following code that calls my jQuery and the noConflict(); call, followed by my actual jQuery markup:
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">jQuery.noConflict();</script>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="PATH TO COLORBOX"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
jQuery('a.colorbox').colorbox();
})
</script>
However, I simply cannot get it to work under noConflict() mode. when disabling the no conflict mode it works no worries, but then the associated Mootools scripts in Joomla do not work.
Can someone point me in the right direction here?
Much Appreciated,
Simon
It turned out that after all of this, it was related to the order in which Joomla! was calling scripts. So for all those who stumble across the same issue, your script calls must all be called AFTER Joomla! include head tag, like follows:
<jdoc:include type="head" />
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">jQuery.noConflict();</script>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="<?php echo JURI::base(); ?>templates/helen-o-grady/js/jquery.colorbox-min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
jQuery('a.colorbox').colorbox({iframe:true, width:900, height:650});
})(jQuery)
</script>
Here is answer: How to use no conflict for two types of jquery scripts.
I have fixed this way:
<script type="text/javascript">
var jQuery1_10_2 = $.noConflict(true);
jQuery1_10_2 (document).ready(function() {
jQuery1_10_2 (".video-popup").colorbox({iframe:true, innerWidth:850, innerHeight:509, fixed:true});
});
</script>
here .video-popup is my popup wrapper class. change it.
