I'm currently customizing the bluescale theme for Magento. I have moved the position of the "product options" box for configurable products from lower on the page to just under the title.
I am now trying to remove the 3 links below the add to cart button (add to wishlist, compare, and ask a question), but cannot figure out where to do so. Where can I find the template for the actual "product options" box? You can see the webpage here: http://bit.ly/xgFy2a
P.S. I can't simply delete the template file for the links, as they still appear elsewhere.
Thanks,
Brett
You can debug your template locations by enabling Template Path Hints like this:
Open the admin control panel
Open the system tab and select configuration
Select Developer on the left sidebar
Select Main Website From the Current Configuration Scope Drop Down (upper left)
Open the debug dropdown
Set Template Path Hints To Yes

i bought one theme and i want to fix my layared navigation to work well.
I need help from which file i have to edit to fix my layered navigation to show after my menu.
First you should find correct template file, then override the template within your theme, then finally rearrange the code so that it displays beneath the vertical navigation. The following may (possibly) work for you. But I don't know what type of theme you are using.
go to your magento backend url, then go to system->configuration->developer then open the debug panel.
Change the current configuration scope to 'Main Website'. Upper left corner of config page.
This should add some items to the debug panel. Set template path hints to 'yes'.
go back to the website and find the phtml file that controls your nav.
copy the file into the theme your using using the same folder structure.
edit that code.
PS another solution may be available to alter the layout files of your site. they get overridden in a similar fashion to phtml files.
I'm trying to teach myself Magento, and basic programming.
In the product lists I have, beside the "add to cart" button is a "Details" button. It has a typo in the label, and says "Detalis".
I need to fix this, but I can't find where/which file it is in. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Generally, product list layout came from list.phtml file.
file location:app/design/frontend/default/my_theme/template/catalog/product/list.phtml
(or)
Please enable the path hints via admin panel. It's show all block paths.
How do I turn on template path hints?
To turn on template path hints in Magento:
log into the magento back-end admin
Go to System -> Configuration in the main menu
Go to Developer on the bottom left under ADVANCED
Switch to the store view on the top left to your current website or
store view.
Under the Debug tab of the same Developer config page you will see a
new option appear that will allow you to turn on/off template path
hints.
Remember to clear your cache.
Generally, I believe that the templates associated with products would be located in the
app/design/frontend/default/your_theme/template/catalog/product/
However, I am unsure of your site template files etc, especially if you are doing things yourself.
To make your life easier, I would suggest installing a program called Agent Ransack which I have found to be invaluable when searching for a needle in a haystack.
I turned Show Title option for articles to Hide in global settings. So it works for each my page good instead of home page. So the title is still appear, even if I switched it to hide in article that correspond to Home page content.
I suppose maybe something wrong with menu.
So I have next menu:
Home
Photos
Contacts
Each menu content single article, but only Home shows title...
I am using joomla 3
on the screenshot below Home header that I don't need.
on the screenshot below Videos header that set as Show tile in menu item
on the screenshot below Videos header that set as Hide tile in menu item
I am making the same for Home but it does not work the Home tile is still visible.
I tapped on menu items then on home items which is single article:
then I modify visibility options:
save and close - and then update the index page in browser, but nothing happen the header Home is still on the page (
The solution is next:
Click on the “Menus” menu and select “Main Menu”.
Click on the menu item that represents your home page (usually “Home” or something similar)
On the right side, click on “Page Display Options”
Set “Show Page Heading” to “No”
Click on “Save”

You have an option to show or hide the title of Articles and also Menus. Usualy is "Home" also the dafault "Frontpage" of the site, having the option to show the title.
Go to Menus -> Default "Home" Menu and under options you should have Show Title and hide it.
This should work, i tested it right now on my page to be sure.
Regards
in joomla 3.x it will be possible by combination of backend settings and source code change.
Login to your joomla control panel.
Go to Global\Articles and turn the "Show Title" and "Article info Title" to Hide.
Go to Global\Menus and turn the "Show Page Heading" to Hide.
Login to your host and go to your public html directory then go to "\templates**[your template]**\html\com_content\article" directory.
open default.php in editor and find
php if $this->params->get('show_page_heading', 1) :
and change the 1 to 0 then save it.
I suggest you to backup default.php file before any changes.
You can disable the Page Heading in the Menu Item options as showed below in my screenshot:
if this don't work, try to go to MENUS - MANAGE - (press the button OPTIONS to the right of the page)
In browser page title press one space , the set the second voice to NO:
Then save and press the REBUILD button.
This happens when you have a multi language site. The "Show Page Heading" option inside the languages home menu doesn´t works at all in this case. It is overrided by the Main Menu home options (that one without any languages assigned to it, that is mandatory in Joomla).
So if you change the "Show Page Heading" option inside the Main Menu home options, it will work.
Bizarre. But, it´s the way that Joomla 3 works.
I want to customize the product page template file on my Magento site. I couldn't find a way to customize my product page template. Anybody please specify the exact file and the location of that file. I am using Magento version 1.7.0.2
You can find all the templates related to product view in the following directory.
Magento/app/design/frontend/default/your_theme/template/catalog/product/
You can customize more (if you want to know which template is for that particular block) with template path hints

Copying content from the above link, in case the link may no longer exist.
What is Template Path hints
Template Path Hints are little tags which would lie on top of your shop frontend. These little tags enable you to view where exactly the code of a specific element is stored within your file structure. Bottom line Template Path Hints saves you alot of frustration.
How to turn on Template Path Hints?
Open the admin control panel
Open the system tab and select configuration
Select Main Website or Name of your website (NOT DEFAULT CONFIG) from the Current Configuration Scope drop down
Select Developer on the left sidebar
Open the Debug drop down
Set Template Path Hints To Yes
Click on Save Config to save down your changes
I'm trying to set up a dynamic menu in a Magento store (v1.7 community edition with the hellowired theme) and can't figure it out why on earth is not being displayed on my home page.
I don't know if there's a mistake in the call on the .phtml files of the theme or if I'm missing some configuration. I have already configured it as described in the theme's documentation and set several products and I'm still not seeing the menu displayed.
If I hard code the category call, it works fine, but it's just a workaround since I need it to be dynamic.
Turns Out for the theme I was using (The Hellowired one, but it appears to apply to several) it was required to set-up all categories under the Default Category. This question was answered to me by an admin of the theme site.
Make sure that the flag Is Active and Include in Navigation Menu set to "YES" from admin panel under General Information Tab in Catalog->Manage Categories.
