why value of ModelMap attribute getting changed in jsp? - spring

why value of user.userType always got changed when i set/change value of command object userDetailsCmd (userDetailsCmd.userType) in jsp?
is this because both have same attribute name (userType)?

Add this to your controller and the userType field of the User object will not get populated.

Field is always null in Spring Boot Postmapping method

I want to bind my HTML table with all fields to Java code in Spring Boot.
Therefore, I have annotated my method with Postmapping, too.
I was already able to show all the fields in Thymeleaf and I was also able to set the checkBox value ( true / false ) accordingly.

I think you have to many options set. You don't need th:checked:

I found another way now, but it is not really nice.

From Hibernate Validator javadoc of #NotEmpty:
Check that a String is not empty (not null and length > 0) or that a
Collection (or array) is not empty (not null and length > 0)
I think your list is not null and has length > 0 although all of them are blanks. So according to this the validator probably kicked it and yielded correct result.
You may need to write custom validator that checks there's at least a non-blank element in the list?

Problem: I am passing on page two types of data: UserOrder and AnonymousOrder, but when I try to get them on the server then come data type Order.
Question: How to transfer data to the server without changing their actual type?

SpringMVC Form validation with form:options

I am trying to setup Form Validation in Spring, therefore I am using javax.validation Annotations. This works pretty well, it gets the Errors pretty well.
I have a form:options Field in my Form that gets precalculated Values from my Controller, but if you submit wrong data, these precalculated Values get lost.

The problem with the firstName is that you have two form:input for it :) The second must be mailAddress.
The problem with precalculated values is simple: when you return the view name string, controller does not get called. The model for this case is empty. The are several solutions: you can extract precalculation to a method and call it where you need. Or (I prefer this way) you can set up interceptors to populate model for urls:
