I am using google analytics in my app to track each pages. I am using article from http://mark.mymonster.nl/2011/10/21/statistics-for-your-windows-phone-application-google-analytics. The problem is whenever I go to Content->overview in google analytics detail page I am getting values like Views/MainPage.xaml,View/Page1.xaml.
So my question is whether there is a way to change this pagename to custom names.
I figured out how to do this manually by just dipping into the source code. A Page View is just a specific set of AnalyticsEvent property values sent so all I'm calling is.
Log(new AnalyticsEvent() {
ActionValue = pageViewUri,
HitType = Microsoft.WebAnalytics.Data.HitType.PageView,
Name = "CurrentScreenChanged",
NavigationState = pageViewUri,
ObjectType = pageViewUri
});
Which is working how I want it.
In Visual Studio you can right click the page and select "Rename", then rename the pages to something sensible that makes sense.
Don't forget that you might have to change references to the pages in your code (if Visual Studio doesn't do that for you)

My partner and I created a custom task form to be used in Outlook using the developer mode to do that, and we published it to the Organization Forms Library for anyone to open. We're running into issues that I personally can't seem to find on how to resolve:
Custom forms aren't syncing correctly.
When I complete out the custom form, and I assign it to someone else they might be missing details like the dates I picked from the date picker, and text within the text box are gone too. It's very odd that sometimes some would get all the details that an end-user would input but that's like a 1/8 chance. I feel like there's a disconnect where it just won't behave like any other task. Cache mode or no cache mode doesn't matter it seems. When the person assigns it back with changes made on their end, those changes aren't seen on my side. I just have the same original details that I made when I first made it. We're on Exchange Server 2010.
Looks like a custom form was not published correctly to others in the organization. Try to create a new Outlook item on other machines with your custom forms to make sure they were deployed correctly.
Note, message forms default to separate layouts for composing and reading. Many people find their first message form doesn't look right when they receive an item created with it. That's simply because they forgot to click the Edit Read Page button and customize the Read layout!

In Joomla 1.5, I created an article. Before publishing it, I want to send a preview URL to my colleagues (they are not registered to Joomla).
I'm looking for something like adding task=preview to the URL and it would show the article.
It would be enough if the article would be normally published but would not be displayed on the main page in the latest news. I tried to set "Front Page" to "No" but without success.
How can I solve the problem?
Joomla! 1.5 doesn't have a feature like this and from the way it's built I'm not sure it's possible without modifying the core com_content files. You could try a search of the Joomla! Extension Directory to see if someone has implemented what you're after.
In the meantime if the article is turning up on the websites front page even when you've set it not to - then the front page must be using a Section/Category Blog page style rather than a Joomla Frontpage page. In this case you could find out which category is set to show on the menu item being used for the front page and then temporarily change your article to another that doesn't appear there.
Once you've got it in another Category you should be able to get a link to the article by doing a search from the front end (assuming you don't want to create a menu link).
try creating a new category called Preview and since that wouldn't have been assigned to any pages yet, it should not appear. If you have trouble finding the article then, you could temporarily publish it either on the home page or somewhere in the menu. Then when you have found and copied the url, you can remove the article from the home page or menu or wherever you temporarily have it appear.
If you should ever want several 'preview' articles appearing on one page, create a new menu item, assign it to the Preview category you made, and in System Parameters, click on Show Title: 'No' so it doesn't appear in the menu. I don't know about what shows up in Google for example so if it's sensitive data I can't say it won't show in search engines, it probably will.
It probably appears on the Front Page because as you say it's part of the 'latest news' module. You could also try removing it from the module feed, but a new category is what I'd do.

I just selected Section: "Uncategorised" and the article went out from the latest news. Hope it's not accessible any other way in the current setup (there is no search function hopefully). It's not a cleanest solution, but it seems to work.
Any DevExpress control I use, just renders a list. I’ve tried all 3 possible syntaxes (listed on the site below) and every time, the control I want to use (TreeView, NavBar, etc.) just renders as a bulleted list. Any ideas why? I’ve checked Google and the DevExpress support center, but I can’t find any issues like this.
DevExpress with razor guide: http://documentation.devexpress.com/#AspNet/CustomDocument9944
I just put this code on my index page to test that DevExpress is working:
#{Html.DevExpress().NavBar(settings => {
settings.Name = "myNavBar";
settings.Groups.Add("Group1").Items.Add("Item1-1");
settings.Groups.Add("Group2").Items.Add("Item2-1");
settings.Groups.FindByText("Group2").Expanded = false;
}).Render();}
When it reaches the page, it just shows a bulleted list:
Group1
Item1-1
Group2
Any ideas what's causing this?
The project I was working on was being rendered inside another project. I just needed to get rid of my project's layout and add using statements to the cshtml pages:
#using DevExpress.Web.Mvc.UI;
#using DevExpress.Web.Mvc;
The only problem I still have, is the scriptlet code gets highlighted red (but it builds/works fine and has intellisense).
It seems that any required DevExpress' entry is not registered within the MasterPage (_Layout.cshtml) / Web.config http://help.devexpress.com/#AspNet/CustomDocument8163. I suggest that you use specially designed Visual Studio Project Templates http://help.devexpress.com/#AspNet/CustomDocument9145 to avoid missing any required DevExpress' entry.
I'm using Sharepoint 2010 (as a beginner). I need to find the best way to allow a user to create a new page inside a sharepoint site. The page must have an image field which the user can crop when he creates the page.
I have 3 problems concerning this:
How can I allow my user to create the page in a single step. The default behaviour is: create page with Title, Url and Content type and the edit the page layout or the page properties. Is there a way to do this in a single step?
What view should my user use when editing the page? The "Edit page" view, or the "Edit properties"? I don't like the "Edit page" view because... it doesn't look like the right way to do it... BUT, I like the fact that I can use my custom BaseFieldControls in this view. The "Edit properties" look great, BUT, customizing it looks like a nightmare. And, of course, I cannot ask the user to use both views...
One of my requests is to allow the user to upload a sharepoint image for the page, and then to crop tree different sizes using the base image. The big question is: where should I allow my user to do this?
In a webpart inside the "Edit properties" window? - Not very easy to integrate it. It seems almost impossible.
In a custom BaseFieldControl in the "Edit page"? Would be great, but, I don't want the user to use this view.
Create my own Asses Picker aspx page for the "Upload image" field, and replace the default one - _layouts/AssetImagePicker.aspx? Is this even possible?
I dont have an answer for everything but for number 1, maybe:
Check out SPServices. It is a Jquery project which is designed to help people use Jquery on Sharepoint sites. It is really useful for accessing, editing, and writing data is less lines of code than ever before... Unless you are a genius and have SP figured out which most do not.
To be honest, the only way to do things in "1 step" is with javascript anyway...
Hopefully you have heard of Jquery:
I've looked around, and not found much documentation on this, so I thought I'd ask where all the experts hang out.
I would like to create a new start page, with bug tracking and source control interfaces, rather than the standard MSDN feed. I seem to remember that one can do more than just supply a different URL, but can actually implement a component to run as the start page, which needn't use web content. I may be wrong. Can anyone please give me some tips?
You can do is to create a DTE ToolWindow (read: Creating a ToolWindow hosting a .NET user control) and host your controls there, then its pretty easy to create an addin that will show the tool window as a document at runtime. (The same way that the start-up page looks)
Go to Tools > Options > Environment > Startup and put your RSS URL in the Start Page news channel field.
That should give you enough, but if you want to do more you can select open home page in the at startup dropdown and point it at a URL with the appropriate content. If you use an intranet with Windows authentication you could display user specific stuff.
This will be completely customizable in VS 2010. You'll be able to do anything you want to on the start page.
