I am trying to install chicken using brew

But, it gets stuck at this phase. I also tried to use csi as it appeared to have been already installed. But I don't get the command prompt.
As outlined in:
This github issue, instead of clang, which is a default compiler on Mac OSX, we need to use gcc to build chicken.
brew install -vd chicken --use-gcc
(Ignore -vd, which I used for debugging this brew install)

I was able to install Homebrew + nginx + rtmp in macOS High Sierra 10.13. Now I want do the same on macOS Mojave 10.14.
So let's start ... istallation of Homebrew, first we need Xcode in terminal...
xcode-select –install
than. We need homebrew

than install nginx + rtmp

I tried:

but it won't work

Error: invalid option: --with-rtmp-module
so i tried:
brew install nginx --with-rtmp-module
but.....result:

so I decided to try install nginx first and than rtmp module
brew install nginx
and than i tried:
brew install nginx libnginx-mod-rtmp (copying from Linux)
brew install rtmp-module
brew install module-rtmp
But none of the above worked. How do I resolve it?
You should tap a nginx formulae before try install nginx-full
Well you can try denji/nginx, since homebrew/nginx tap has been deprecated, That's:
brew tap denji/nginx
then
brew install nginx-full --with-rtmp-module
That works for me.
I'm trying to install OMake so I can install Teyjus so I can start writing a bit of Lambda Prolog but I'm getting I'm getting a bunch of errors on OS X 10.10.5. The most current one, that I can't figure out, is:
*** omake: 497/1193 targets are up to date
*** omake: failed (5.99 sec, 124/124 scans, 81/94 rules, 258/1153 digests)
*** omake: targets were not rebuilt because of errors:
src/libmojave/lm_printf.cmx

Has anyone run into this? Does anyone know of a fix? Would love to be able to get started.
Inspired by your posts (here and on /r/prolog) I decided to try and build Teyjus as well, and installed OCaml and OMake along the way. The following describes the steps I took to successfully install OCaml and OMake:
Installing OCaml
OCaml.org said the best way to install OCaml was to go through OPAM. However,
since I chose to install OPAM with homebrew, and OCaml was a prereq, I ended up
with the latest version of OCaml set up after the first two of the following steps:
Install opam via homebrew:
Following instructions from https://opam.ocaml.org/doc/Install.html
$ brew update
$ brew upgrade
$ brew install opam
Initialize opam
Following the instructions provided by the homebrew results, I ran
$ opam init # then `y` to allow alterations to the shell profile and another init file
$ eval `opam config env`
Installing standard libraries
If I'm going to have OCaml installed any how, I might as well get it set up
for proper use, cause eventually I'll want to play around with OCaml itself
again too. Thus, I took the advice of the OCaml installation instructions and
ran
$ opam install batteries core
Installing OMake
The OMake download page scared me. I thought, "hey, I've just installed
the robust OCaml package manager, OPAM, and OMake is written in OCaml – so maybe
I can find an OMake package on OPAM and dodge all those deadly bullet-points".
Thus I ran
$ opam show omake
And saw that omake 0.9.8.6-0 was on offer, which appears to be the most recent
one. So I installed it
$ opam update # just to be sure ;) But all was up to date
$ opam install omake
That should be it! I was able to build Teyjus from source subsequently (I'll post the whole record of my steps on the reddit thread).

I have OSX 10.10.5 with Octave 3.4.0 running (installed, who knows how, I did it a million different ways through port, file extraction, ftp, homebrew…). I tried to update my Programme (brew install octave or sudo port install octave) and Terminal spits out:
Warning: octave-3.8.2 already installed, it's just not linked
Okay, great. So I have a better programme somewhere installed. What now? How on earth am I supposed to “just link” the newer installation?
If you install octave with Homebrew and it doesn't link it it should tell you why. You can force Homebrew to link octave with
$ brew link --overwrite octave
You can also add the --dry-run option to check and see what Homebrew will do to link octave
$ brew link --overwrite --dry-run octave
A possible reason for Homebrew not linking octave is that you've installed it by another method, MacPorts for instance. It is not recommended that you use both Homebrew and MacPorts on the same system.
I'm using mac and I want to install osm2pgsql to import OSM data into PostgreSQL.
I execute brew install osm2pgsql in the terminal. (I have already executed brew update).
Here is the output:

According to http://www.zlib.net/, zlib is already included as part of Mac OS X.
And when I search it in google, I found this https://github.com/josegonzalez/homebrew-php/issues/205 and this https://github.com/josegonzalez/homebrew-php/issues/538
So I execute the following two commands:
brew tap homebrew/dupes
brew install zlib
And the result output is:

This formula is keg-only: so it was not symlinked into /usr/local.
Mac OS X already provides this software and installing another version in
parallel can cause all kinds of trouble.
Generally there are no consequences of this for you. If you build your
own software and it requires this formula, you'll need to add to your
build variables:
LDFLAGS: -L/usr/local/opt/zlib/lib
CPPFLAGS: -I/usr/local/opt/zlib/include
==> Summary
It seems that I don't have to install zlib.
Again I execute brew install osm2pgsql, but it still doesn't work.

I give up homebrew and install osm2pgsql via a binary installer.

I don't know anything about brew but according to the error message you are missing the zlib library. Try to install it first.
And you should keep to osm2pgsql because it is the standard tool to import OSM data into a PostgreSQL database.
You have to edit the formula by using the following command:
brew edit <formula_name>
Then, you have to make the exports needed in the brew env, the best place to do this is in the install function just before the call of
system "./configure", *args
Here are the lines to append
ENV.append 'LDFLAGS', "-L/usr/local/opt/zlib/lib"
ENV.append 'CPPFLAGS', "-I/usr/local/opt/zlib/include"
When it is finished, you just have to run the brew installation again and it will works

This is my first time trying to compile source code in terminal (I installed gimp using macPorts but this could be part of the problem...?)
I want to install fontforge and I was following these instructions how to install fontforge.
I got this warning while installing brew:
Warning: The following *evil* dylibs exist in /usr/local/lib
They may break builds or worse. You should consider deleting them:
/usr/local/lib/libssl.0.9.8.dylib
I could not find usr/local/lib and the only libssl file was in opt/local/lib called libssl.1.0.0.dylib which is supposed to be hidden apparently...
I made it to the "brew install cairo --use-clang" step, then when I try the "brew install fontforge --use-gcc" step I get the following warning:
Warning: It appears you have MacPorts or Fink installed.
Software installed with other package managers causes known problems for
Homebrew. If a formula fails to build, uninstall MacPorts/Fink and try again.

Error: GCC could not be found
when I check gcc version I get:

Do I need to uninstall macports (then re-install gimp?)
I read gcc comes with xcode, I have xcode 4.3 (upgraded after this issue but didn't fix it) so do I have gcc or not? is there another way to check etc.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong (what I broke etc)?
NOTE I also have flashbuilder which has a program called gcc as well (I dont know if this broke the other gcc...)
