Gem::LoadError installing ruby 1.9.2, in macbook snow leopard - ruby

I have been trying to install and run rubyonrails in my macbook Snow Leoppard 10.6.8, with Ruby 1.9.2-p290.
When I write bundle install im having this problem, not just with Postgres also with SQLite and MySQL.
Installing pg (0.11.0) /Users/felipevelasquez/.rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.2-p290/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.9.1/rubygems/installer.rb:585:in initialize': Permission denied -/Users/felipevelasquez/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.2-p290/gems/pg-0.11.0/Rakefile` (Errno::EACCES)
When I write sudo bundle install I have this:
/Users/felipevelasquez/.rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.2-p290/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.9.1/rubygems/dependency.rb:247:in `to_specs': Could not find bundler (>= 0) amongst [mime-types-1.16, minitest-1.6.0, rack-1.3.2, rake-0.8.7, rdoc-2.5.8, rest-client-1.6.7, sequel-3.20.0, sinatra-1.0, sqlite3-1.3.4, sqlite3-ruby-1.3.3, taps-0.3.23] (Gem::LoadError)

Cause of this problem is this: this could be a rvm bug, I have experienced too earlier.
the directory to write has no permission, while you escalating the privilege, the gem env and PATH info is not passed into it.
You can either try to install rvm and ruby. OR export your env and path with sudo command. for example:
sudo export GEM_HOME = /path/to/gem_home && bundle install

Ruby 2.3.0 gem pg version 0.18.4 install error El Capitan

After "bundle install", I keep getting this error for many times.
Errno::EACCES: Permission denied # rb_sysopen - /Users/daisukeishii/tasca- io/vendor/bundle/ruby/2.3.0/gems/pg-0.18.4/.gemtest
An error occurred while installing pg (0.18.4), and Bundler cannot continue.
Make sure that `gem install pg -v '0.18.4'` succeeds before bundling.
gem install pg keeps giving the same error
-ruby 2.3.0p0 (2015-12-25 revision 53290) [x86_64-darwin15]
-psql (PostgreSQL) 9.5.0
-Mac El Capitan
-I checked all related posts in stackoverflow but could not solve this.
Tried to uninstall/install PostgreSQL through brew.
Tried to uninstall/install Ruby
Do you have any idea to solve this?
I had problems installing the pg gem and for me this did the trick:
ARCHFLAGS="-arch x86_64" gem install pg
However, looking at your error message it actually seems to be about not having write permissions to the gem directory. Maybe you have tried to install the gem as root with sudo gem install pg and it left behind a directory under your home directory having root as owner instead of your regular user.
Remove the directory using:
sudo rm -rf /Users/daisukeishii/tascaio/vendor/bundle/ruby/2.3.0/gems/pg-0.18.4
And then try installing again using the ARCHFLAGS above.
Note that your post has some sort of copy paste problem in the path so the path in this example might not be correct.
In my case, the pg gem was looking for a PostgreSQL installation in the wrong place, so I runned
bundle config build.pg --with-pg-config=/usr/local/Cellar/postgresql/9.4.5/bin/pg_config
which was where my PostgreSQL installation actually was, and then
bundle install

Building native extensions error in installing ruby gems

I installed a ruby version as below
$ rvm install ruby-1.9.3-p448-dev
and when i checked version as below
$ ruby -v
ruby 1.9.3p448 (2013-06-27 revision 41675) [i686-linux]
But when i tried to install travis like below
$ gem install travis

So how to avoid the above native extensions error and install the travis succesfully using gem
Edit
When i tried the command by including sudo as below
sudo gem install travis
I am getting the below message as success

And now what all i am trying to do is to set up environ variables on travis
and hence i tried the following command
$ travis encrypt -r travis_uname/app_name EMAIL_HOST_KEY=key_value
and getting the below wierd error

from /usr/local/bin/travis:18
So finally how to avoid above error and make the above travis command work successfully ?
First of all, set the Ruby version you are using as a default
rvm use --default ruby-1.9.3-p448-dev
and uninstall the gem previously installed with sudo
sudo gem uninstall travis
this makes sure that all your commands are using the same Ruby version and your machine is clean again. Now to your installation problem. This error
Permission denied - /home/user/.travis/travis.sh (Errno::EACCES)
shows you, that the installer tried to access /home/user/.travis but wasn't able to do so due to a lack of user permissions. This means you need to make sure that the folder belongs to you and is writeable
chown -R `whoami` ~/.travis
chmod -R u+wx ~/.travis
Now go ahead and try to re-install:
gem install travis
and everything should be fine.
Installing the -dev packages fixed it for me...
sudo apt-get install ruby-dev
It happens sometimes when you install some gems with sudo and other not.
Ideally you should never sudo for the gem install.
So if you have several gems owned by root and you want to remove the ruby installation and the related gems, run this command:
sudo rvm remove ruby-2.0.0-p353 --gems
rvm remove is the preferred way of removing rubies from rvm. By default, not only will it remove the ruby and it's source files, it will also get rid of aliases, wrappers, environments and any associated binaries - in other words, it cleans up most of the install.
The --gems flag will get rid of all associated gemsets.
The you should reinstall your ruby version with:
rvm install ruby-2.0.0-p353
and bundle install again.

How to install ruby compass on Mac OS 10.8.2

I start gem update and it runs something like this :
Marios-MacBook-Pro:~ MarioVMtz$ gem update --system
Updating RubyGems
Updating rubygems-update
ERROR: While executing gem ... (Gem::FilePermissionError)
You don't have write permissions into the /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8 directory.
I installed xcode rvm what else do I need to install ruby compass on Mac OS 10.8.2?
Run the command using sudo? sudo gem update --system should sort your immediate problem.

Unable to run rake or rails commands (like rails c) - libcrypto error

When attempting to run any rake, rails or bundle commands, I get following error:
/home/username/.rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.3-p194/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.9.1/rubygems/custom_require.rb:36:in `require': libcrypto.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory - /home/username/.rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.3-p194/lib/ruby/1.9.1/x86_64-linux/digest/sha1.so
I have tried rvm pkg install openssl, rvm remove 1.9.3, rvm reinstall 1.9.3, reinstall bundler and all gems. I read on another forum that I may have to uninstall rvm, ruby and rails and start from scratch. Ugh - really?
Thanks in advance.
you need to read and follow the instructions displayed with:
rvm requirements
then remove the rvm installed openssl:
rm -rf $rvm_path/usr/
and reinstall ruby:
rvm reinstall 1.9.3-p194

json_pure/rubygems cyclic dependencies

I have an issue when trying to set up rvm, where gems weren't installing due to them being dependent on json_pure. I tried to install json_pure, but rubygems itself seems to depend on json_pure. I have tried removing all versions of json_pure, but rubygems still complains.
$ sudo gem install json_pure
/Library/Ruby/Site/1.8/rubygems.rb:777:in `report_activate_error': Could not find RubyGem json_pure (>= 0) (Gem::LoadError)
I have tried downloading the gem and installing it locally, but rubygems still complains about the dependency.
I had this exact problem, and the above solutions didn't work for me. (I don't use rvm, and re-installing RubyGems didn't resolve the issue.)
This is what I did to fix my setup on my Mac. (Ruby 1.8.6, Mac OS X 10.5.8)
1) Go to http://rubygems.org/gems/json_pure
2) Download the json_pure gem to ~/Downloads
3) cd ~/Downloads/
4) sudo gem install json_pure-1.4.6.gem
(You'll still see the "Could not find RubyGem json_pure" error, but the install does work. To double-check you can redo 'sudo gem install json_pure-1.4.6.gem' and you shouldn't see the error the second time.)
5) Verify that json_pure is now installed:
gem list
I fixed this issue by copying the json and json_pure gems and their specs from a working ruby directory into the .rvm gem directory of the broken ruby. Not sure why rubygems itself ever relies on another gem.
cp -r ~/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.8.7-p249/gems/json* ~/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.8.6-p399/gems/
cp -r ~/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.8.7-p249/specifications/json* ~/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.8.6-p399/specifications/
I can't understand if you are having an issue installing RVM or using RVM.
If you need to install RVM, don't use sudo.
Just type
$ gem install rvm
RubyGems will install it in your home directory.
Then, proceed with rvm-install and follow the instructions.
When using RVM, never use sudo.
This issue came about when I removed all the json-pure versions in my main $PATH. To resolve the issue I reloaded RubyGems 1.3.7 from source and was able to reinstall the json-pure gem. Note: I was not using RVM.
Steps:
1) Download RubyGem 1.3.7.tgz
2) Use these commands at the command prompt
tar xzvf rubygems-1.3.7.tgz
cd rubygems-1.3.7
sudo /opt/local/bin/ruby setup.rb
3) Try a gem command
gem list
4) If it works, install the json-pure gem // might need to install the json gem also.
sudo gem install json
sudo gem install json-pure
