While updating windows phone 7 to 7.5 in zune i am getting the following error:
Can't check for updates right now. Please try again later. An Error has occured

Please tell me ....

This MSDN Article suggests that the issue may be a firewall or antivirus stopping you from connecting properly. If you are trying this at work then you may need to contact your administrator to rectify this.
If both of these have been checked and disabled (for a very short time) or fixed then it may be a temporary issue with your ISP or even Microsoft. In that case I'd give it half an hour, then try the update again

Once in a while that I run my Oracle forms 10g on IE, I get the following error:
"Service Temporary Unavailable"
The server is temporary unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

has anyone faced this issue before?
Many thanks
The error sounds fairly self-explanatory. If this is surprising for some reason, you might want to collect a network traffic log using Fiddler or similar to see if the server's HTTP/5xx response contains any additional information you could use for troubleshooting.

I need to automate the updating/installation of MS patches in some remote machines.
I can't use MDT because there is already a different subsystem handling mass software/patch distribution on all the workstations.
Therefore the easiest/fastest way would be to connect with a script to each machine and run a command (if it exists) that would start updating the system just as if a user had clicked Control Panel/Windows Update/Update now...
I searched and found the wuauclt utility which I try to run on a machine and check if it works and it just doesn't do anything.
I tried doing
wuauclt /a /detectnow
and then
wuauclt /r
It doesn't report that "The command does not exist" or anything like that. It just doesn't output anything at all and I see no updates being installed in the background.
Any ideas?
I read this article yesterday, I think it might be able to help you. Please give it a look and let me know if it helps.

When I try to use "net view" in command prompt, I get an error code 6118. What does this mean, and how can I fix it? Thanks, Nick.
6118 means The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available, mostly it is due to the firewall protection blocks the SMB.
You can check as following steps
first check each pc is in the same workgroup.
disable the firewall and virus protect in each PC.
Ping PC2 from PC1 to ensure the network is ok
net view \PC2 from PC1 to check if it is ok.

I am working on a driver installer that after installing always leaves a message "you must restart your computer to apply these changes" with the options of "restart now" and "restart later". I am thinking that this is caused by a registry value that doesn't get cleared but I don't know what value or what key would be causing this. No matter how many time the computer is restarted the warning does not go away. If any one out there can point me to right place in the registry it would be greatly appreciated.
You can export the whole registry into the text file before the installation and after the installation and run windiff on these files. The files will be huge, but in your days hard drives, you know. This may give you a clue.

How the software knows that how many times it has been installed? For example we are installing an ativirus (6 installations allowed for 6 systems),on the seventh installation it will not allow to install. How the software knows that it has been installed 6 times before. Please explain its working..
Regards,
David
Most software leaves a counter buried in the Windows registry, or a hidden file somewhere on the drive, which keeps the install count.
Other software would use online activation, and the activation server keeps track of the count.
There's no "standard" method for this.
a) It is maintaining a server process in your network where each installation will report to once its done.
b) This is the most likely scenario: it is reporting to the AV company's servers on the net which does the validation.
