I have been trying to write some custom workflows for our org but I am stuck on a particular issue. I know how to create attachments and link them to a new email, but I want to do the same with templates? I understand how to use the SendEmailFromTemplateRequest class, but I haven't found a way to link attachments to it. I found this article
but I need more detail on how to use the InstantiateTemplateRequest. I've tried to tinker with it using this as a guide but so far I've not had luck.
My needs are that I need to create an email from a template and then attach files to it that are dynamically generated.
I found what I needed here, but I noticed that I still needed to Create the email object using the IOrganizationService helper. Basically I created the InstantiateTemplateRequest, thend passed it into the IOrganizationService Execute() function and then retrieved the Email object from the InstantiateTemplateResponse object. After I had the Email I then edited and passed it into the IOrganizationService Create() function. After that I sent it along using a SendEmailRequest object which also needs a IOrganizationService Execute() call.
I am not very sure about how you are actually going to use the templates. But one work around could be that you can send the email in the same way you send with attachments. Create some logic to get the string content of the template, perform string handling operations as per requirement(Usually there are only a few fields in template that are to be modified and most of the text remains same). Now pass this string to the body of the email as string. I dont think there should be any trouble in this. Please correct me if I am missing some thing or misunderstood the complete question.

I'm new to Google's API and I'm having trouble reading the content of a People contact.
To get the details of a particular contact, references show this code should work [Edit: I updated the personfields]:
profile = service.people().get(resourceName='people/c63810788897573286', personFields='names')
The resourceName is the ID of a particular contact (that ID will only work for someone with access to my account). The server grabs it correctly and returns this:
<googleapiclient.discovery.Resource object at 0x10fd183c8>
How do I read the content of this object? I can't figure out from the documentation
I want to print out the Name. I'm pretty new to APIs, so maybe there is a standard way to read an HTTP object or maybe it's something unique to Google's API. Thanks for any advice
I found an answer in another somewhat related StackOverflow. I needed to the add .execute() to the call
profile = service.people().get(resourceName='people/c63810788897573286', personFields='names').execute()
I want to add "Weather: 24C" to the rental-listing component of the super-rentals tutorial app.
Where would be the "best-practices" place to put this ajax request?
Ember.$.getJSON(`http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?q=${location}&APPID=${apiKey}`)
.then(function(json) {
return JSON.parse(json).main.temp;
});
Do I need to add a component, add a model, add a service, add a second adapter, modify the existing adapter? Something else? All of these? Is the problem that the tutorial uses Mirage? I ask this because when I think I'm getting close, I get an error like this:
Mirage: Your Ember app tried to GET
'http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?q=london&APPID=5432',
but there was no route defined to handle this request.
Define a route that matches this path in your
mirage/config.js file. Did you forget to add your namespace?
You need to configure mirage to allow you making calls to outside in case mirage is active; what I mean is using this.passthrough function within mirage/config.js, that is explained in api documentation quite well.
Regarding your question about where to make the remote call is; it depends:
If you need the data from the server to arrive in case a route is about to open; you should prefer putting it within model hook of the corresponding route.
If you intend to develop a component that is to be reused from within different routes or even from within different applications with the same remote call over and over again; you can consider putting the ajax remote call to a component. Even if that is not a very common case usually; it might be the case that a component itself should be wrapped up to fetch the data and display it by itself for reusing in different places; there is nothing that prevents you to do so. However by usually applying data-down action-up principle; generally the remote calls fall into routes or controllers.
Whether using an ember-data model is another thing to consider. If you intend to use ember-data; you should not directly use Ember.$.ajax but rather be using store provided by ember-data and perhaps providing your custom adapter/serializer to convert data to the format ember-data accepts in case the server do not match to the formats that ember-data accepts. In summary; you do not need to use models if you use pure ajax as you do in this question.
I am new to eventBus() function in SAPUI5.
I am using eventBus.publish() in Table.view.js controller to publish data & have used eventBus.subscribe() in MainPage.view.js controller. It is working fine.
But while I try to implement eventBus.subscribe() in another controller ("Feed.view.js"), it is not working. Why is it so?
The cause of you problem is likely one of the following:
You are not using the same EventBus in all cases (e.g. in one case
you use the sap.ui.getCore().getEventBus(), and in another case you
use your component's oComponent.getEventBus())
You are not using the same channel
You are not using the same event ID
Please check this, and if it doesn't help post more of your code.
How do I run/call/kickoff an external program (custom code) whenever certain attributes or objects are added or modified in OpenDJ’s database?
Here is my real world need. (Feel free to change my thought direction entirely).
Whenever a new email address gets created or changed in the OpenDJ database I want to initiate some java code that does some email verification/validation (send the “click here” link with a token to prove the user owns the email they just signed up with).
I know, I could use OpenIDM/AM to accomplish this but to take this a step further I need to validate other information and other credentials (custom) which users supply that are not supported by OpenIDM/AM suites.
Initiating/calling custom code upon ADD or MODIFY of specific objects and attributes is what I want and would like to know how to accomplish this. Preferably without having to scrape logs.
Please Help.
Chad
OpenDJ has a plugin interface where you can plug Java calls on Add or Modify. A sample of this kind of plugin is the attribute uniqueness which verifies that some attributes have a unique value in the directory.
The plugin interface javadoc can be found here : http://docs.forgerock.org/en/opendj/2.6.0/javadoc/org/opends/server/api/plugin/DirectoryServerPlugin.html
How would you suggest working with files that is stored on the note of a entity in Crm. Could you write a generic method that will enable you to access any type of file? Or would it be better to have a method for dealing with each type of file?
For example, we are going to be saving a mix of swf files and xml files on the entity, so would it make sense to have a method each for example:
GetXmlFilesOnAccount(accountid)
GetSwfFilesOnAccount(accountid)
When you upload an attachment to CRM the mimetype is also saved as part of the record information.
The following link contains a nice example of how to download the attachemt using a single method. http://crmscape.blogspot.com/2009/10/ms-crm-40-sending-attachments-to.html
The post is missing the actual query needed to retrieve the annotations but you can tell what columns are required from the method signature.
My suggestion using your methods:
* GetXmlFilesOnAccount(accountid)
* GetSwfFilesOnAccount(accountid)
Retrieve account activitypointers by regardingobjectid(in your case accountid guid)
Loop through returned activitypointers
Get attachments for each activitypointer (activitypointer.activityid = activitymimeattachment.activityid)
Store attachments (disk, etc)
You don't even need two methods. You can retrieve all attachment file types for a given note (annotation) with a single method.
Hope this helps.
I recently started an Open Source Project on CodePlex to accomplish exactly that. Feel free to check out the Project's Web Page at:

You can also view the source code under the "Source Code" tab of that same page.
