OK, so i will just give you y configuration:
In folder WEB-INF i have 2 files:
1) hibernate-context.xml
content:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xmlns:p="http://www.springframework.org/schema/p"
xmlns:tx="http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx"
xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context"
xsi:schemaLocation="
http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans
http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd
http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx
http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx/spring-tx-3.0.xsd
http://www.springframework.org/schema/context
http://www.springframework.org/schema/context/spring-context-3.0.xsd
">
<context:property-placeholder location="/WEB-INF/spring.properties"/>
<!-- Enable annotation style of managing transactions -->
<tx:annotation-driven transaction-manager="transactionManager"/>
<!-- <tx:annotation-driven/> -->
<bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean"
p:dataSource-ref="dataSource"
p:configLocation="${hibernate.config}"
p:packagesToScan="com.rasp.lta"/>
<bean id="dataSource" class="org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DriverManagerDataSource">
<property name="driverClassName" value="${app.jdbc.driverClassName}"/>
<property name="url" value="jdbc:mysql://{url to database}"/>
<property name="username" value="{user name}"/>
<property name="password" value="{password}"/>
</bean>
<bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTransactionManager"
p:sessionFactory-ref="sessionFactory">
<qualifier value="transactionManager"/>
</bean>
</beans>
2) hibernate.cfg.xml
content:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE hibernate-configuration PUBLIC
"-//Hibernate/Hibernate Configuration DTD 3.0//EN"
"http://hibernate.sourceforge.net/hibernate-configuration-3.0.dtd">
<hibernate-configuration>
<session-factory>
<property name="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.MySQL5InnoDBDialect</property>
<property name="show_sql">true</property>
<!--<property name="create">update</property>-->
</session-factory>
</hibernate-configuration>
Then in WEB-INF i have folder: spring in which there is file root-context.xml, the content is:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd">
<!-- Root Context: defines shared resources visible to all other web components -->
<import resource="../hibernate-context.xml"/>
</beans>
Additionally to have transaction in whole project, you should add to web.xml:
<filter>
<filter-name>hibernateFilter</filter-name>
<filter-class>org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.support.OpenSessionInViewFilter</filter-class>
</filter>
<filter-mapping>
<filter-name>hibernateFilter</filter-name>
<url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
</filter-mapping>
<filter>
<filter-name>encoding-filter</filter-name>
<filter-class>
org.springframework.web.filter.CharacterEncodingFilter
</filter-class>
<init-param>
<param-name>encoding</param-name>
<param-value>UTF-8</param-value>
</init-param>
<init-param>
<param-name>forceEncoding</param-name>
<param-value>true</param-value>
</init-param>
</filter>
And in the end in controller:
#Service("linkAddress")
#Transactional
public class LinkAddressService {
#Resource(name = "sessionFactory")
private SessionFactory sessionFactory;
public List<LinkAddressEntity> linkAddressEntityList(String linkList){
Session session = sessionFactory.getCurrentSession();
List<LinkAddressEntity> linkAddressList = (List<LinkAddressEntity>) session.getNamedQuery(LinkAddressEntity.QUERY_IN)
.setString("id", linkList).list();
return linkAddressList;
}
}
I hope it will be helpfull.

I didn't find the problem. I got error below when I run the application

You disabled the component scan default filter, so auto scanning will only search for Components, as you have configured. Add Service to that filter list for component scanning.

Integrating JTA, Hibernate 4 and Spring 4 with WebLogic

I am having serious issues with implementing a JTA / Hibernate / Spring application (with WebLogic 10.3 for the server). I originally was using the Spring programmatic configuration, but have moved it over to the Spring XML configuration to filter out potential problems. It was working perfectly when I used the HibernateTransactionManager instead of the JtaTransactionManager, but now is not finding the Session for the thread.
When I look at the sessionFactory it is not null, but getSession() does not return a session.
Could you assist me in troubleshooting this? Thank you!
My Dao implementation:
import java.util.Collection;
import java.util.LinkedHashSet;
import java.util.List;
...
import org.hibernate.Criteria;
import org.hibernate.Hibernate;
import org.hibernate.Session;
import org.hibernate.SessionFactory;
import org.hibernate.criterion.Restrictions;
import org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.Autowired;
import org.springframework.stereotype.Repository;
import mil.navy.navsupbsc.utilities.HibernateConfiguration;
#Repository
public class ContactDAOImpl implements ContactDAO {
#Autowired
SessionFactory sessionFactory;
public Session getSession() {
try {
sessionFactory.openSession();
return sessionFactory.getCurrentSession();
} catch (NullPointerException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
throw e;
}
}
#SuppressWarnings("unchecked")
public List<Contact> listContact() {
List<Contact> contactList = getSession().createCriteria(Contact.class)
.list();
...

Based on the answer from #M. Deinum (if you put your comments in an answer, I'll mark it as correct), I have figured out the problem.
The solution was to add the data source (referencing the JNDI data source I specified earlier) as <property name="dataSource" ref="NCS"/>. I also reference the jtaTransactionManager as <prop key="hibernate.transaction.jta.platform">org.hibernate.service.jta.platform.internal.WeblogicJtaPlatform</prop>
NOTE: for other servers other than WebLogic, replace
.WebLogicJtaPlatform with your specific server's JtaPlatform name.
Specific implementations can be found at
http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/orm/4.1/javadocs/org/hibernate/service/jta/platform/internal/AbstractJtaPlatform.html
Finally, I changed the sessionFactory.openSession() to sessionFactory.getSession in my DaoImplementation file.
I hope this helps someone else as well!

Struts + spring + hibernate Spring bean NullPointerException

I am trying to use spring hibernate and struts 2 together. The application deployed successfully. But I get NullPointerException when try to access a spring bean.
Here is the code UsersBo is a class
#Autowired
private UsersBo ubo;
public void setUbo(UsersBo ubo) {
this.ubo = ubo;
}
public UsersBo getUbo() {
return ubo;
}
I checked and find out that udo is null. Below are the configuration files.

I added the #Repository annotation above class defintation
To Enable #Autowired annotation, you have to add <context:annotation-config /> in Spring config file (Users bean xml file). You have to add context namespace as well
xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context"
So, your xml would be
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans
http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-2.5.xsd">
<context:annotation-config />
<bean id="loginAction" class="com.riteshsangwan.ossoc.actions.LoginAction">
<property name="ubo" ref="usersBo" />
</bean>
<bean id="usersBo" class="com.riteshsangwan.ossoc.business.UsersBoImpl" >
<property name="udao" ref="usersDAOImpl" />
</bean>
<bean id="usersDAOImpl" class="com.riteshsangwan.ossoc.business.UsersDAOImpl" >
<property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory" />
</bean>
</beans>
Hope this helps! I also see that setters and getters method should follow Java naming convention. So, spring can find the appropriate setters during dependency injection. Please change/follow the Java naming convention in your code.

Spring Security cannot reach custom userDetailsService Bean in Service layer

Edit: I just realized that the issue does not come from spring-security not being able to instantiate userDetailsServiceImpl that is referenced in the spring-security.xml file, it is the addUserFormController that cannot be instantiated because it cannot autowire the UserDetailsServiceImpl. So the problem comes from the fact that this Controller cannot reach, for whatever reasons, this Service bean UserDetailsServiceImpl. I think I did properly made my component scan, by only scanning the controllers in mvc-dispatcher-servlet.xml, and all the other one except controller in the applicationContext.
I am using Spring MVC and Hibernate and I am trying to integrate Spring Security with a custom UserDetailsService and an Assembler.
It looks like my spring security cannot access the beans that are supposed to be scanned by the applicationContext.xml.
When loading my application I am running into the following error:
org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'addUserFormController': Injection of autowired dependencies failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Could not autowire method: public void com.controller.AddUserFormController.setUserDetailsService(com.service.UserDetailsServiceImpl); nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No matching bean of type [com.service.UserDetailsServiceImpl] found for dependency: expected at least 1 bean which qualifies as autowire candidate for this dependency. My AddUserFormController:
#Controller
#RequestMapping("/register.htm")
public class AddUserFormController {
private UserDetailsServiceImpl userDetailsService;
#Autowired
public void setUserDetailsService(UserDetailsServiceImpl userDetailsService) {
this.userDetailsService = userDetailsService;
}
My UserDetailsServiceImpl:
package com.service;
#Service("userDetailsService")
#Transactional
public class UserDetailsServiceImpl implements UserDetailsService {
#Autowired
private UserEntityDAO dao;
#Autowired
private Assembler assembler;
I have been able to fix that issue.
In my AddUserFormController, I had this:
#Controller
#RequestMapping("/register.htm")
public class AddUserFormController {
private UserDetailsService userDetailsService;
#Autowired
public void setUserDetailsService(UserDetailsServiceImpl userDetailsService) {
this.userDetailsService = userDetailsService;
}
Here is how it looks now:
#Controller
#RequestMapping("/register.htm")
public class AddUserFormController {
#Autowired
private UserDetailsService userDetailsService;
public void setUserDetailsService(UserDetailsServiceImpl userDetailsService) {
this.userDetailsService = userDetailsService;
}
I moved the #Autowired from the setter directly to the attribute, AND most important, I changed the type of userDetailsService to UserDetailsService, rather than UserDetailsServiceImpl.

spring 3.1 setting profile

I want to start using profile in Spring 3.1 and i found a problem.
In my hibernate xml file i've set
<beans profile="test">
<context:property-placeholder location="/WEB-INF/springtest.properties" />
</beans>
<beans profile="production">
<context:property-placeholder location="/WEB-INF/spring.properties" />
</beans>
And in web.xml i've set:
<servlet>
<servlet-name>appServlet</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet</servlet-class>
<init-param>
<param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
<param-value>/WEB-INF/spring/appServlet/servlet-context.xml</param-value>
</init-param>
<init-param>
<param-name>spring.profiles.active</param-name>
<param-value>production</param-value>
</init-param>
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
</servlet>
but when i'm trying to run application i have issue, that spring doesn't see variables from spring.properties file.
Should i set something else ?
UPDATE
hibernate file looks like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

I think the reason is that since you want this in your root application context, loaded up through ContextLoaderListener, the way to specify profile is not through the DispatcherServlet's init param, but ServletContext's init param, this way in your web.xml file:
<context-param>
<param-name>spring.profiles.active</param-name>
<param-value>production</param-value>
</context-param>
