I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to feed google reviews into my website? I would like it to be kinda of a testimonial type page. Or if i could feed it with a slider reviews that would be really awesome. Any ideas?
I recently needed to get reviews as well for a similar application, so I created a jQuery plugin that will fetch ALL the reviews and allows for options to be passed in for filtering.
google-places jQuery Plugin
This question is kind of old but maybe it will help someone else
The Google Places API now supports the return of up to five reviews from a Place Details Request.

I'm very new to Mailchimp. I would like to add mailchimp to existing PHP based signup form. I don't want to use the forms from Mailchimp. I've searched on Google but didn't find any solution yet. How can I do that?
I just wrote a short tutorial to help anyone facing this issue. Please check it here: http://www.sunarlim.com/2014/04/mailchimp-sign-form-php-jquery-ajax/
MailChimp APIs are actually very easy to understand and they provide massive list of references and their own libraries to help developers to implement.
I was hoping someone can help me fix an issue. When someone posts a link to my joomla created website, they get the heading "Whats New?", which is my default article page for the site. It is the current blog articles written.
For example, if someone posted my link on facebook, it would look like this:
Whats New?
MyDomain.com
Description of website goes here...
Everything looks great except for the "Whats New?". Is there a way to put My webpage name instead of the name of the default page? How about showing an image? When posted on facebook, there is just text and no image used.
Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated
Facebook uses Opengraph data to build those posts. If facebook isn't offered OpenGraph data, then it will use its own methods to try and find the information it needs. Sometimes with useless results. There are a lot of options to fix this. Joomla extensions has a few opengraph extensions for you to install, some of those should work fine. You can always write something yourself or add the data in your template. But don't expect results right away, because facebook caches those media objects for some time.
Open graph: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/
Joomla Extensions: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/site-management/seo-a-metadata/open-graph
There are more ways to fix this, but this is probably the easiest for you. Hope it helps.
Good Luck.
In the Joomla backend, do the following:
Open the menu item the the article is assigned to.
On the right hand side, open the Page Display Options panel
Add whatever you like to the Browser Page Title parameter.
Hope this helps
I want to fetch linkedin group or company post updates via ajax to be displayed on a webpage. To be specific I'm looking for something like this plugin named jtwitter which fetches twitter posts. Now I just want a simple updates feed so I was wondering if there is any jquery plugin that allows to do so.
I was searching for similar solution.
Here's a jQuery Socialist plugin which can grab latest posts and updates from popular social networks:

I didn't try it yet but it seems that it fit your needs.
Hope this helps :)
I am not sure this is possible, I've certainly never tried doing this before but I have a customer who wants to be able to know where someone came from when they visited the site. Was it from google, bing, a link from another website, etc. More importantly as well they want to know if the visit is a product of normal SSO or if it was a paid add like adwords?
I would appreciate anyone's thoughts on this and if it's possible?
Many thanks
Why not use something like google analytics. It should tell you pretty much all that information.
I'm creating a new rails app for my business, and I just finished a new feature where I can put an announcement on the website (for specials, sales, etc.). I want this announcement to automatically be set to my business' Facebook page. How can I easily do this? Is the only way to create a Facebook application, and then if so, can a Facebook application have permissions to edit a business' page (I know apps can edit user profiles, but I don't know about business pages)?
Thanks for any help!
you can always create a rss and use for example rss grafiti http://apps.facebook.com/rssgraffiti on facebook.
i think this is the simplest solution, instead of creating application.
This might not be what you want, but it'd be trivial to use something like Watir to navigate to the webpage itself and post your status; however, I'm not sure Facebook provides something in their API for direct update.
I found a service called "Twitterfeed" that posts updates from an RSS feed to twitter and Facebook (among other services). This is a perfect solution for what I needed!
There is a gem called 'facebooker', that might help you.
