Hi all this is the first time i am working on an MVC application, can any one provide me some ideas it will be greatfull...i have to develop a page where
How can I implement role based login to users with the menu assigned to them in asp.net MVC 3. Consider I have three table UserInfo(UserId, UserName, Password,RoleId,MenuID) and Role(RoleId, RoleName).,Menu (MenuID,MenuName).
I want to validate user from Database(UserInfo Table) and also want to retrieve roles from that table. And want to use like ,how i ahve to design my project and controllers, views and models
Need your help and idea....
you can use .net login control for log in and manage the roles.
Open your application in VS2010 then go to to Project menu then open the ASP.Net Configuration, and add roles as per you need.
Roles.IsUserInRole("RoleName")
like this you will check the logged in user role and change your menu setting.
Hopefully this is helpfull for you.

I have been looking into Broadleaf since last couple of days. I have managed to run it on local tomcat with MySql. I have extended Entity for my custom requirement following Broadleaf's documentation.
Now I want to add a menu option (in left menu) in admin. I have no clue from where Broadleaf admin site displays the web page. How left menu is displayed ? How data from controller are binding with view ?
For example, if you access product page in broadleaf admin section, then URL will be http://localhost:8081/admin/product/. Following it I managed to know that it calls AdminProductController.java of framework's admin module. I looked at the code of AdminProductController.java but didn't get a clue how data is being forwarded to view. Also didn't find the product jsp/template/html.
I guess admin module is using EntityForm.java for view. If I intend to use simple jstl then is it possible?
My question how easily I can extend admin of Heat Clinic demo site to add new pages, menu items etc? If anyone has customized/extended demosite admin then please suggest.
We have some docs on how to do this at http://www.broadleafcommerce.com/docs/core/current/broadleaf-concepts/admin/admin-custom-controllers. The bottom line here is that if you want to add a new page then you can simply use normal Spring MVC as you would on the frontend. The only difference is that there are some specific ways to place new template files (which is documented on that page).
To answer your question, most URLs in the admin are handled dynamically by the AdminBasicEntityController. Most of the sections are handled generically by this controller but there are still certain instances where we needed to override things specifically, like with AdminProductController.
Also, the admin is built with Thymeleaf and not JSPs so if you want to add more pages they will need to be done with Thymeleaf.
I am new to cakephp development. I have create user controller to register, login & update own profile in the user table. I can access the user controller with http://local-host/my_project/user/login.
I have also a admin table in database so that admin can login and manage user in my project. I want to create a folder separate folder (ex: admin) in the controller directory so that i can access the controller files using http://local-host/my_project/admin/controller/login & http://local-host/my_project/admin/controller/manage.
You should have a look at 'prefix routing' in the manual, it seems that this is what you're looking for:
http://book.cakephp.org/2.0/en/development/routing.html#prefix-routing
With prefix routing, you'll be able to add, for example, an action admin_overview() to your User controller which is then accessible via the URL /admin/users/overview. The 'admin' prefixed action will not overlap with non-admin actions (e.g. 'overview()'), which will be accessible via the 'regular' URL; /users/overview/
Of course, you can create separate admin controller(s) for this purpose, but you may need to create custom routes. For more advanced options regarding routing, it's worth your time to read the whole chapter (or, even better) read the whole cake cookbook, it's also available as eBook for offline reading;
http://book.cakephp.org/2.0/en/index.html
Another solution is to develop the 'admin' part of your application as a plugin. This will keep your frontend and backend controllers/models/views separated. As a bonus, the backend may can be re-used for other projects as well (depending on its design of course)

I'm trying to create a simple registration for the magento visitors using custom steps. I need to create a wizard that helps the users to follow a path previously set in the administration panel.
At the moment I have created the extension but I am having some difficulties to create the front-end wizard form. What I'd like to achieve is a multi registration form where if the user go from the first form to the second one Magento has to save the data and wait if the user wants to go on the next new form and so on...
Here a mockup: http://minus.com/lF3krBVJG0WEM
How have I to create a multiform that follow this behaviour?

I would like to create some pages related to a member account in umbraco 4.
In asp.net webforms, an account folder is created and in it are the account related pages, such as Login.aspx, ForgotPassword.aspx, etc...
Now, these pages are not actual content pages, but are more of the adminitrative type.
I've created user controls for the login, register, etc.
Should I create a document type in umbraco for each page type, and put the respective user control in each template ? what is the recommended way to do this in umbraco ?
On the content manager, just right click on the page or node you want to protect, right click on and select "Public Access".
In there you can apply permissions to individual users and/or roled based. The Roled based one will require for you to have "Member Groups".
That is it. All the security is kept on the "\App_Data\access.config" file; you can review it for more details on how they are achieving this.

I have a joomla website.here is the link
link for siteI want to integrate a external php signup and login form.I create a php signup form.It works perfecly.
signup linkBut the problem is i dont know how to integrate that form to my joomla web pages...I want to secure my web pages..Only registered users can view my page....please help me..
Why have you create your own register form? Joomla already has the one. To see it follow the link index.php?option=com_user&task=register, Login for there index.php?option=com_user&task=login. If you need more fields to be filled out during registation you may you Community Builder. This extention allows to add to user profie as many fields as you want
It is also possible to use Chronoforms to allow for registration that brings in multiple fields as well without having to bring in an external file for registration/login.
Using the tools Joomla has to stay within Joomla is really the best way to go about it. It will allow you to keep your sanity and keep things as uniformed as possible.
