Doesn't WMAppManifest.xml get overwritten? - windows-phone-7

An update to my WP7 app was just released. When I'm developing locally, I set the Title of the app to be an abbreviation so I know which is which (local dev or published copy) when launching from the app menu.
I forgot to change the abbreviation back to the full name when published, but I thought that everything in the WMAppManifest.xml was overwritten with the metadata you enter in the app hub anyway.

That information you enter while submitting is for the marketplace. The Title to be displayed in the phone is extracted from your .xap. Thus, you may see the correct title in the marketplace but not on the device.
Also happened to me once :).

No full-size app banner :Eligibility issues by version

I am trying to publish an update to my android app and the review done by play console is rejecting the app. I have added different xhdpi icons and changed the app title as well. More than 4-5 iterations have been done.
I have already added xhdpi icons and changed the title of the icons/banners to match the app title. Added icons in the drawable folder
No specific code.
Successful app publishing.
Please refer the message
Following is the message:-
I want to post an update here. The issue got resolved when I added the app title on the image used as a banner/icon.
I received a detailed response from Google Playstore team that my app banner/icon was not having app title which should be visible for end users trying to lauch the app from launcher.
Following was the response.
Please note that our banner requirements are as follows: App name
must be included in the image.
It looks like you are targeting Android TV. Do you want to? If you do, then click on the link in the message you were sent. It will take you to the docs on providing a Home Screen Banner inside your app.
If you think you have done this then update your question to show your AndroidManifest.xml.

Google Apps Marketplace icon missing from App Launcher

We have developed a Google Apps Marketplace app and recently received reports from our users, that the App Launcher ("grid") wouldn't show our app's icon anymore.
This is a screenshot how it looks for my personal Google Apps account when I'm on www.google.com:
And this is a screenshot from my account when I'm on admin.google.com/AdminHome:
As you can see, only when I'm on the Google Apps account page, I can see icons of Marketplace apps. But it used to show up anywhere, also on www.google.com.
So Google must have changed something. The question is: can we get it back to the old behaviour?
PS: I know that it's just a link and one could simply bookmark it, but some of our customers are not really 'tech-savvy' and believe our app is 'gone completely' now. This is causing confusion everywhere.

Cannot submit app to the google app marketplace

I created an chrome web store entry here:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/forum/knpdbggaikbgjbgihfgefcjdabkhfgbp
And filled out the form for submission for google app marketplace:
https://docs.google.com/a/nimbusbase.com/forms/d/14QOb8PbSLKDgwIp8Zv-luoAAVurPXUqtzL0Hgikp3rk/viewform
This was over 1.5 month ago. Since then, I have not had any word about my app rejection or seen it in the google app marketplace.
I'm not sure what the process for app review is. Does no word ever back mean your app is rejected?
Typically if you don't hear anything back from us that is a good thing! However, in your case, it appears that you have not set up your manifest file correctly. You have failed to include the DOMAIN_INSTALLABLE container. Take a look at the documentation at:
https://developers.google.com/apps-marketplace
You'll find an example manifest file that you can model yours after.
Since the manifest file was never set up correctly, the application did not enter our review queue which is why you never heard anything about it.

How I can download my beta test release from app hub? I have zune url but... - wp7

This is a simple questions:
I've developed my first app for windows phone 7 (Mango). I have created a new release in the marketplace for beta test.
I have received one confirm email about this process. All is ok. But now, in this email, there is a Url like this:
zune://navigate/?appid=46546c45-7b41-11ae-b78e-268334559f0ac
In theory, I have to send this url to beta testing people of my list. But Where I or they have to write this url for download the app?
In zune? In the marketplace? I don't know what I have to do with this url....
Thanks guys,
JPe
When you submitted the app for beta testing, you needed to specify the live ids of some testers. This link (zune://) can be used to install the application through Zune. You need to send this link to those testers whose live ids you entered there. Just paste the link in any browser and it will open with Zune.
The link will not work for anyone else, but for the specified live ids.
If your live id is not in the beta tester live ids list, I am not sure that you can test the app with your live id. I'd suggest to add your live id to the list.
And by the way, you cannot access a beta app through the Marketplace, the only way is through Zune with the given link.
I hope it will work for you.
I have found in most cases the beta links only work when opened from a Windows 7 device, opening the link on a PC through Zune either gets a "app not available" or "app not available for your country".
There doesn't seem to be any setting in the marketplace to get around this so it may be by design.
No word yet on if this is fixed with the web marketplace but I doubt it since the Beta apps only give a Zune link

how to change a Windows phone 7 market place application icon

I uploaded windows phone 7 app in market and it's rejected by apphub market, with reason of displaying default app icon, here the application icon is not being displayed instead it shows an default application icon.I also uploaded all design images in artwork design with suitable dimension of icon. Please help me to show application icon in market place.
Have a look at the end of this post
It shows how to set these icons. (The posts starts with drawing them but you could skip that)
If you are looking in the app hub at the details of your released ap, this always shows the default "cog" app at the top.
If you've uploaded the correcct images these will be seen in the application artwork section of the page.
If the wrong images are being displayed in the marketplace, is this the phone marketplace or the desktop one? Or both?
If the images displayed in the marketplace don't match the ones listed in the details in the app hub then you should contact app hub support.
