I'm new to Tomcat, Apache and Ubuntu and i have no idea where to look for logs.
I've followed the article letter by letter of how to create multiple instances of tomcat but ive git a glitch and im not sure how to go about debugging it. Three quarters down the page im supposed to be kick starting the instance but all i get back is [fail], no error message. Im not sure where to look or what i can do to deug this.
https://github.com/getrailo/railo/wiki/Ubuntu-12.04-Railo-4-Beta-with-Tomcat7-multi-instance
Any help appreciated. thank you.

I've finally managed to get where i want and thats to have multiple instances of tomcat all running at the same time. I wouldn't have been able to do this without the article mentioned in these posts, so big thanks to all their hard work.
The reason i was getting [fail] message when trying to start up tomcat, was because i followed the java options steps based on my hardware, that cost me a day!! When reset to its default i was able to start/stop my instances with no errors. I would advise you to use the default (JAVA_OPTS="-Djava.awt.headless=true -Xmx128m -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC") then tweak when you have everything running.
If you get to the point where you are getting permission or folder not found error when trying to browse your instance, it is because tomcat7 doesn't have ownership to your working folder (follow this to know how to create your working folder with railo deployment).
Hope this saves someone hours/days.

Dear all can I get oracle 12C application access as web on internet I know this process will not as all can be explained here but someone please guide me in which way I have to go lead me how can I get this goal some hints or topic books or article I searched lot of internet but wont get this.
My last Forms version is 10g; it uses the IAS (Internet Application Server), while your version (12c) uses the WLS (Weblogic Server). However, I believe that my answer still stands.
In order to run a Forms application, you have to have a database (of course) and a "server" which will be running that application. I'm just a developer so I never had to install nor configure the IAS (or the WLS). However, based on what I've heard from colleagues and read on the Internet, that is not a simple task, requires a lot of knowledge and takes time to do it. Measures in days.
Shortly, you should
install the database (on a database server)
install the WLS (on a separate application server, for better performance)
make everything accessible to users over the Internet
share the application URL with users
Reading your question & from my point of view, your best option is to find a company that hosts Forms applications, sign the contract with them and let them take care about deploying your application to the web. Your task would remain what it is now - developing the application.

I have a localhost Laravel project I want to deploy with Deployer. Currently I do it manually using an FTP tool and only sync the app, resources folders and seems to work just fine.
I want to use Deployer or some other tool I can run from terminal to sync or upload new files to the server.
Can someone help with a recipe or advice?
Do I need rsync setup using deployer or is there a way to do it without recipe/rsync.php?
Here are the steps I want configured(for now):
connect to the server, I have ssh access and I can probably configure a key
setup the 2 3 folders I want to sync, as well as files that need to be ignored.
These seem like simple tasks but for some reason I have a hard time setting them up.
Thank you
I don't know if this questions is still pending for answer, but one alternative is using some versioning tool like git, you only watch some folders and ignore the remaining. and with the basic recipe you can deploy a github/gilab/bitbucket project.

I'm currently developing an OctoberCMS website on VirtualBox using ScotchBox.
I've bought a new machine and I want to transfer my work there. I'm trying to find a way to completely/identically clone my VMbox to that PC, but to no avail, I'm still stuck with that.
Now, I'm thinking to just clone my current OctoberCMS development environment. Is there a way to clone/duplicate my OctoberCMS app to another ScotchBox? Because, I do not want to re-setup everything from the start all over again. I've already done a few things and it will be a waste of time to copy and paste them again.
What I want to happen is to clone my current OctoberCMS to another PC as if I was just working on my old PC, is it possible?
What I'm thinking is of course, I need to dump my database, and I'm thinking of zipping my OctoberCMS directory. But I do think that there's an official/recommended way of doing it?
By the way, my Box is using folder sync, so my actual OctoberCMS files are located on my host machine.
Thank you for your answers!
Just do it,
its just fine everything is working on relative urls and relative path so you don't need to worry about it,
its pages are almost flat files so they will come with copy paste :) so no issue there.
even during setup process it just copy zip files from server and paste on local and unzip it.
so just take backup/dump database and setup in new machine.
zip your entire October cms and unzip it to new machine.
then edit config/database.php for correct user-name and password
then you are done :)
I do same for most of the time and its working just fine trust me.
if you find any other difficulties just write comment.

I've searched everywhere and can't seem to find a single answer to satisfy my issue. I have a few applications on Mac (10.9.2) that no longer open via their icons. I can open a Terminal window and type 'open /Applications/[app_name]' and they work fine but attempting to open via the LaunchPad fails. IntelliJ is the most recent application that is causing me headaches. When I click on the icon I receive the following error in the system log:
com.apple.launchd.peruser.503[306] (com.jetbrains.intellij.ce.76944[5866]): Exited with code: 1
I have checked my UID and I am 503 so I should be able to open it. This only happens with certain applications though. Network Connect (Juniper Networks) is another one that has recently started to cause issues:
com.apple.launchd.peruser.503[306] (net.juniper.NetworkConnect.30128[6000]): Exited with code: 1
Any help in understanding what is going on would be greatly appreciated!!
I love how I keep being the one to answer my own question but anyways, I found the solution. I ended up reverting the LaunchPad back to its default settings by using the following command:
rm ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dock/*.db; killall Dock
Once the dock database was rebuilt everything worked as expected. Hopefully this helps other out there who have this problem.

I got a localhost service on my machine, but I don't remember installing it lol.
And now that I am really need it, I can't figure out who is running this service... It's just a simple page of "It works!".
Been trying searching my win7 for "It works!" keyword but found nothing. And all the index.html files seems to be not it. So it's really funny now...
Anyway I can find it out?
Edit:
This is the my localhost icon , I even search it on Google images without any result...
You have Collabnet Subversion Edge installed on your machine. This brings along it's own customised setup of Apache.
Find the folder c:\inetpub\wwwroot\yourservice, if you are using the iis to host your services.
