while i am installing windows phone 7 SDK following error is occured and setup can not complete.
Any one know how to resolve this error and install Windows Phone 7 SDK.
i already installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate but still installation error is coming

After trying out several possibilities, installing latest Windows 10 SDK
(The Windows 10 SDK (10.0.18362.0) for Windows 10, version 1903)
could resolve the issue. thanks for the support. Could see installer window and proceed with installation of Visual studio.

If you look in the IDE log file, which is in the %AppData%\Local\Xamarin-Studio-6.0\Logs directory and you see an error similar to:
System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'libglib-2.0-0.dll': The specified module could not be found.
Then you may be able to fix this by installing an older version of GTK#. Full steps to do this are:
Stop Xamarin Studio.
Uninstall GTK#.
Install an older version of GTK# such as GTK# 2.12.30
Xamarin Studio on Windows 10 requires a bit of modification since we do not ship it in our Windows installer anymore:

Another fix that I found was installing 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components but running the file gives me the error "The installation of this package failed."

Hit the same thing. Try installing the Office2007 redist as well - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/23734 . Solved my prob.
go to your project properties > compile > and uncheck the Prefer-32bit
I am trying to install Windows Phone 7 SDK on my PC which has a Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
I tried to install the software, but I got an error that I don't have the Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1. I installed the Service Pack but I still can't install the Windows Phone SDK. Does It have to do with the fact that my OS is "home premium"? Or is there any other reason there should be a problem?
Go here and download visual studio express 2010 for windows phone. This should be the complete package of what you need
