Does anybody know if there is an update to install new "browsers" for Visual Studio 2010 load testing? 2010 by default only has IE 7, 8, and old versions of chrome, safari, and firefox.
In visual studio 2012 ?
Here is the list of all available browsers : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd997561.aspx
You can add additional browsers by creating new .browser files. See here for more info http://davefancher.com/2011/05/18/vsts-2010-load-test-browser-definitions/

I recently started working on Windows Server 2016 and Visual Studio is missing the "Hierarchy View" that I am used to having.
This is Visual Studio 2017 Pro. Is there a setting I can't find?
That's a new feature in VS2017 Update 6,
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/releasenotes/vs2017-relnotes-v15.6
So you need to upgrade.
I am working on an Angular 4.X project and using Visual Studio 2015 Update 3 as IDE. So far I am able to debug my Typescript code in the browser (mostly Google Chrome) but I want to know if there is a way out using which I can put breakpoints and debug the Typescript right from the Visual Studio itself.
Any help will be appreciated.
This feature is supported only in Visual Studio 2017 you can see how to enable ithere
So I'm trying to do what I think is a very simple thing: generate a Windows Phone app with PhoneGap and open it in Visual Studio. On a totally fresh Windows installation (via Bootcamp), I've:
Downloaded Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows (the very first download button: http://developer.windowsphone.com/en-us/downloadsdk)
Created a PhoneGap Windows Phone app per the Getting Started guide.
However, every time I try to open the csproj file, I keep getting this error:
Unsupported
This version of Visual Studio is unable to open the following projects. The project types may not be installed or this version of Visual Studio may not support them.
For more information on enabling these project types or otherwise migrating your assets, please see the details in the "Migration Report" displayed after clicking OK.
- HelloWorld, "C:\BodBot\BodBot-PG\BodBot\platforms\wp8\HelloWorld.csproj"
No changes required
These projects can be opened in Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2012, and Visual Studio 2010 SP1 without changing them.

No matter what I do. It works totally fine on Visual Studio 2012 for Windows Phone. I've tried it on VS 2013 for Desktop, and that doesn't work either. No clue what is happening here, and don't know even where to start to figure out what's wrong. I've Googled extensively to no avail; basically all instances of this error seem to have to do with previous version of VS. Pointing in any direction would be very much appreciated.
Turns out Update 2 wasn't getting installed correctly. I ended up installing Visual Studio and the Update 2 separately and Update 2 got installed successfully. Everything works now.
To build Multi device hybrid (Cordova tooling) apps with Visual Studio, you need to have Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 - Professional, Ultimate, or Premium.
Visual Studio 2013 Update 2: Global Apps e Android/iOS App
I originally created an ASP.NET site in Visual Studio 2010 a few years ago and it went through the VS 2010 SP1 update as well. This meant that Visual Studio 2012 opened the solution without performing a one time upgrade.
The issue I am having is that the built-in browser selector in Visual Studio 2012 is not available for this project and the settings only let you use the default browser.
When I looked in the .SLN file, the version line indicates Visual Studio 2012 (i.e. # Visual Studio 2012) and no other setting in there appears to have anything to do with this limitation.
Has anybody had this issue and, if so, can you please let me know how your overcame it?
Thanks!
You're going to have to upgrade your project to allow it to make use of Visual Studio 2012 only features. Note, if you do this you will no longer be able to open your project in earlier versions of VS.

I've downloaded the latest version of Visual Studio 2010's Service Pack 1 from here. However, after I extracted the files, installed the SP1, and restarted the whole OS, still I don't get support for CSS3 and HTML5 in VS2010.
Have you experienced the same problem? Anyone has any idea?
Update: HTML5 and CSS3 support is promised in these links (and of course, many more could be found):

And also I've installed Web Standards Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SP1, but still no success.
visual studio 2010 is not suopporting HTML5 and CSS3. you need to install
Web Standards Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SP1
Go to
Tools->Options->Text Editor->HTML->Validations Select Target As HTML5
Also for CSS on Home VS screen near run button select combobox as css 3.0
it will definetly solve ur problem.
