Missing CRT after updated to Visual Studio 2012 - visual-studio-2010

I uninstalled everything came with VS2010 and installed VS2012 express today.
When I tries to compile a project I created before in VS2010, everything is ok. But when the exe starts to run, it prompts that the msvcr100d.dll file is missing...
I understand that this debug version dll is not even included in any redistributable library. And normally it should included in VS2010 or VS2012. So is there any way to solve this other than reinstall VS2010 again?
I checked system32 folder, there's only msvcr110d but not msvcr100d, how to tell my project to change the dependency from 2010 to 2012

Installed file differences : Setup Project of Visual studio vs Installshield

My solution(.net frame work 4.6) composed of one main project with 3 reference projects(class library). If I run setup file created by Installshied which finally install main.exe with 3 dlls and sytem.value.tuple. However, setup file created by visual studio setup project, it install lots of dlls in application folder. I set .net 4.6 launch condition both software.
Visual studio looks installed all the .net assemblies I used. What's wrong with visual studio or what I missing?
Update:
I gave up.... But adding main.exe file instead of primary output of project. That's my current solution

TFS 2012 build: having both VS 2010 and VS 2012 installed

On a Build machine, I have both VS 2010 and VS 2012 installed. (We are nearly finished migrating from VS 2010 to 2012 and have just migrated to 2012, the build machine is also on TFS 2012.) I seem to need this for features like static code analysis.
When running the build I now encounter errors: the FXCop seems to be very good at selecting the wrong .exe version whereas different (rule) .dlls are in the project files. (Meaning: I have v10 files in the project file, but v11 exe is taken or vice versa.)
On top of that (after uninstalling VS2010) I ran into problems with some legacy C++ projects that require VS 2010 (requiring some MSBuild v100 rather than v110).
In the end I uninstalled VS2012 and probably will revert once we have completely moved to VS 2012 (some members of the team are still happy if projects are compatible with VS 2010). Actually, things are working now with only VS2010 installed (though I had to revert some changes).
Is there a better way, is it e. g. possible to determine which FXCop you are using for static code analysis from within the build when having several VS versions installed?
Well, this is kind of a mess. I ended up selectively choosing what to put on our build server, rather than trying to sit VS2010 and 2012 side-by-side (had a lot of problems with 2012 there, so ended up having to rollback, too).
We ended up adding -
.NET 4.5 SDK
.NET 4.5 multi-targeting pack
.NET 4.5 Framework
Copy the files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PublicAssemblies on a machine with VS2012 installed to the same path on the build machine
Copy the files in C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v11.0 on a machine with VS2012 installed to the same path on the build machine
I think that took care of everything, but it was a lot of trial-and-error to get all of the assemblies there. Good luck!

The error "This project is incompatible with the current version of visual studio" displayed

I installed Vs 2010 Express in my PC, and created a poject named myproject with .net 4.0, it works well in Vs 2010 Express.
Now I installed Vs 2012 Express in my PC, and open the project myproject and upgrade it to .net 4.5, it wells well in Vs 2012 Express too.
I delete the project myproject all files, then restore it from my old backup file, when I try to open the project from Vs 2010 Express, I get the following information.
"This project is incompatible with the current version of visual studio", why?
How can I open the project in Vs 2010 Express? I guess the Vs 2012 Express maybe mark the project as .net 4.5 and stored the information in the somewhere of hard drive. Although I restore the project myproject from old backup file, Vs 2010 Express still think it is a project of .net 4.5.
Thanks!
If the message "This project is incompatible with the current version of Visual Studio" is due to an attempt to open a project targeting .Net 4.5 with Visual Studio 2010, then the "solution" or workaround is to edit the .csproj file and change the TargetFrameworkVersion from "v4.5" to "v4.0". That at least allows the project to be loaded, although it may result in compiler errors if the program is dependent on 4.5 features.
I know this is a little old, but just in case the above solutions don't work: don't be an idiot like me and try to open an MVC project using "VS for Desktop" instead of "VS for Web" (or vice-versa), since it will give you the incompatible message.
I use TFS at my job and I tried to open a MVC project via the TFS Solution Explorer. I wasn't paying attention to which Visual Studio version I had open and since both IDE's look alike, I was confused at what was going on - a common mistake, I'm sure =P
If you are getting the same error for a project which is actually an extension (.vsix), please install Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 SDK
Installing KB2781514 - Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 solved the problem for me.
Check the directory that contains the solution file for an UpgradeLog.htm file. It will probably show what's wrong. In my case I tried to open an ASP.NET project, but the Web Developer Tools were not installed.
The Web Developer Tools can be installed afterwards by going to the Control Panel and to modify your existing Visual Studio installation. After adding Web Developer Tools the project opened without issues.
In my case the problem was the Component Model Cache (Visual Studio for C++).
in VS2013 it is located in
%localappdata%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\ComponentModelCache
in VS2015 in
%localappdata%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0\ComponentModelCache
Rename this folder and restart visual studio.
I received this error because during the BizTalk install I did not check the Developer Tools and SDK checkbox. I went back and modified my installation and that error went away for me now.
Trying to load a BizTalk Project in VS2012 without BizTalk installed on your developer machine, will result in this error and the projects will load. This should be the first thing you check.
Make sure that all your extensions are same as in previous version. For me, when I upgraded from old PC to New PC, I didn't downloaded correct extensions hence resulting in above issue.
I faced out with this problem, the solution was:
Open VS2017
Go to Tools
Go to Extensions and updates
Search for Reporting Services Project and then "Enable"; close your VS.
Open again your project/solution.

Setup project with crystal reports and VS2010 fails to register crystal dlls

I built some crystal reports in VS2010, and made a setup project for it. It deploys fine on my dev machine, but I get the following error while trying to install it on the client machine.
I have googled this error for sometime and found that the VC++ 2005 redistributables are a prereq. I have added these merge modules to my setup project but I still get the same error.
I have also added .NET 4.0 as a prerequisite, and still get the same error. Anybody has any ideas?
My dev machine is running Windows 7, and I am trying to deploy it on a Windows server 2008 R2 machine.
For anyone else's reference, I ended up adding Crystal Reports Runtime Engine for .NET 4.0 as a prerequisite and just make the user download it if they dont have it installed. I also had to add a .NET 4.0 prerequisite (not the client profile) and of course the merge modules (CRRuntime_13_0.msm). If anyone has a better way of getting this to work, I am still interested. Thanks!
Try this one
http://www.businessobjects.com/jump/xi/crvs2010/us2_default.asp
I installed CRRuntime_32bit_13_0_8.msi on 64bit and finally worked
The merge modules you have added are from VC++ 2008 redistributable, not 2005.
You can download the correct redistributable from the following link:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
That contains the required Microsoft_VC80_CRT_x86.msm, Microsoft_VC80_MFC_x86.msm, Microsoft_VC80_ATL_x86.msm and Microsoft_VC80_OpenMP_x86.msm, as noted here.
AFAIK, There's no need to .NET 4.0 as a prerequisite, at least for Crystal Reports Runtime for VS 2010. The above redistributable added to the setup project, all that error messages are gone.
NOTE:
To add the VC++ 2005 redistributable to the VS setup project, a corresponding bootstrapper package should be added in the following folder (for VS 2010):
%Program Files%\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Bootstrapper\Packages
Or %ProgramFiles(x86)% folder on 64-bit Windows.
UPDATE:
To create a prerequisite bootstrapper package, see the following links (borrowed from here):

PROBLEM encountered visual studio 2008 installation

I installed Visual Studio 2008 package FULL option. It worked with out any problem. I installed Vstudio 2008 and MSDN in separate folder in the D drive. 2 days later in order to remove my projects i uninstalled every thing and also i deleted visual studio 2008, visual studio 2005 folders from C:\Documents and Settings\IRCTC\My Documents. (I believe these 2 folders were automatically created when we install visual studio) also I cleared %path% and path (c/windows/path). Again I installed VISUAL STUDIO 2008 but now I can't able to create window application (other web, vb also), what is the solution for this ...
ERROR that shown is
c:/documents and settings/IRCTC/local settings/temp/g1zzsdl.bak/temp/windowsFormsApplication.csproj cannot be opened because project type (.csproj) is not supported by this version of visual studio.......
Whether any system file corrupted (windows temp or .net folber in windows).....
No other installation problem found in my system.....
please help.....
What are the files/folders required for the installation......
When you get that error is usually because:
You are trying to open a project created with a previous version of Visual Studio (not your case)
There was a bit of a screw-up during the installation (sounds like your case)
I'd uninstall the thing and reinstall completely first thing.
If it still doesn't work, it could be related to VS templates and you might wanna try and run from Visual Studio 2008 command prompt:
devenv /InstallVSTemplates
If it still doesn't work, open Visual Studio, in the menu, Open Tools->Options->Projects and Solutions->General. At this point you will notice the path of Project Templates is set to "C:\Documents and Settings[yourUserName]\My Documents\Visual Studio 9\Templates\ProjectTemplates" or something very similar to that. In order to fix it you gotta set that path to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9\Common7\IDE\Project Templates or the same path according to wherever you installed Visual Studio
I don't think is related to VS project Templates though - see this link
Try and see what happens!
Why didn't you use visual studio's uninstall function available from the control panel|add/remove programs?
I would uninstall the latest installation as described above, and try again.
