I´m looking for a way to format the Description of WorkItems that are of type UserStory, Issue or Task, but the ToolBar for changing Font, FontSize, FontColor, that is available to format the Steps to Reproduce of Bugs isn´t available for those WorkItems.
I would like to know if its possible to enable the ToolBar for the Description.
I have tested this with the TFS-Plugin in Visual Studio 2010 and 2012. We are using TFS 2010.
This is not possible in TFS 2010 because the default description field is Plaintext not HTML. In TFS 2012 this field has been changed to HTML.
You "could" create a new Description field "MyCompany.DescriptionHtml" for example of the type HTML, but you would have to ensure that no-one (or any reports, etc) ever used System.Description for anything.
Also, you would need to migrate all existing descriptions to the new Field.

I attached an image to show exactly what I mean.
Is there a way to make Visual Studio to display that dropdown menu with the different options for formating?
Thanks in Advance
Can Visual Studio Intellisense display options for formating values?
I am afraid that you cannot get what you want so far on VS.
Actually, VS Intellisense does not have such function and do not have different formatting options in the drop-down box just as your picture shows.
Also, I cannot find any VS extensions to implement this function.
So if you still want this feature on VS, I suggest you could suggest a feature on our User Voice Forum.
Besides, when you finish it, you could also share your idea ticket here and anyone who is interested in it will vote it so that it will get more Team's attention.
I am currently using the Workflow designer in Visual Studio 2012 to create an automated build workflow. The XAML document that I am using was not created by me and I am new to Workflow. Some of the titles of the panes are too long to display fully and I am unable to read the text of the title. This is a problem because I am following a document, created by another developer at my workplace, that references the titles.
I thought that increasing the 'zoom' would help, but the text also zooms and remains obscured. I have tried searching Google and SO for a way to widen the panes, but have not found a solution. Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this task? I would also appreciate other suggestions.
My company assigns numeric values for usernames in active directory and history window in Visual Studio (for TFS Source Control) displays users in format [Domain][number].
Is there a way to change this to display full user's name or alias?
This is the new behaviour in TFS 2012. Sadly it is not configurable in earlier versions, I'm not aware of any visual studio addins which can do this either although it would be technically possible to write one.
Does anyone know if it is possible at all to filter the Toolbox's items in Visual Studio using an add-in?
Visual Studio 2010 introduced the ability to search but I want to filter, for example: type in button and it must show all items containing "button", same as on this on this Delphi XE screenshot:
This is a very good answer for this question. I copied from the VS blog:
In VS 2010 Beta2, we’ve added the ability to search for controls in the toolbox by name. To use it, put focus in the toolbox (by clicking in it, for example) and start typing the name of the control you want to find. As you type, the selection will move to the next item that matches what you've typed so far.

This is something not possible as microsoft does not reveal the secret of adding toolbox controls details completely. They make change the process for each platform and for each versions of visual studio. if we have a clear details of how they add, we can also do the similar kind of small application with search capability and add it as add-in.
Luckily Visual Studio 2012 now has that feature!
Go into Notepad, Internet Explorer or most other applications that display or edit text. Triple click on some text. Windows will select the entire paragraph under the cursor.
This doesn't work in Visual Studio 2005.
How do I get triple click support in the Visual Studio text editor?
do VS 2008 or VS 2010 solve this?
Is there a macro, setting or plugin that will solve this?
I wrote an extension for this for Visual Studio 2010 that you can download from the VS Gallery or directly from the extension manager in Visual Studio, by searching for "triple click" or my name.
You can also read the blog post I wrote about it and check out the source, on github.
I haven't used it, but CodeProject has an article on SmartHelp 3.04 which mentions that you can triple click to select a whole line.
Also, from Craig Shoemaker's blog.
About VS 2010.
Further enhancements include the
ability to triple-click an expansive
element like a table and the editor
selects the entire table’s markup.
Want to surround that table with some
additional markup? Just start typing
with the table selected and your
markup is inserted around the selected
code.
