Visual Studio Properties window for Unit Tests? - visual-studio-2010

I found a blog entry that talks about the "Unit Test" property window, shown here:

My question is that I can not for the life of me get a "Unit Test" to populate in the Properties window. I am running Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate. When I click on a file in my Solution Explorer it shows up in the Properties window as expected. When I click anywhere in my code the Properties window goes blank.
I spent about 10 minutes Googling for an answer, but I was unable to find one (there was a lot of noise in the search results).
I'm sure that I'm missing something obvious here and I was just about to declare a loss when I figured I'd ask the good folks at SO if they had an answer.

In Visual Studio 2010, from the Test menu, select Windows\Test View
In the Test View window, you can then right-click the test and choose 'Properties'
(I can't find it in Visual Studio 2012 at all.)

Visual Studio 2019 - can't change profile settings, opens FolderProfile.pubxml instead

I have a problem with Visual Studio 2019.
From what I have seen in tutorials, during publishing an application, I should be able to change profile settings, by clicking a small pencil (I included a screenshot, it's a little pencil next to "false" and other settings.) However, every time i click it, it opens FolderProfile.pubxml file in Visual Studio instead! Is this indended behaviour, am I doing something completely wrong? How to change that? Screenshot
My problem fixed when I updated visual studio.
Also go to extensions and update all.
Now show UI options.

i can't find the design viewer option in my visual studio community

when I create a new project the first time I can see the Design viewer option, but when I close VS and reload the project the second time I can't see the design viewer anymore, I didn't find the solution please help!
When you open VS you may see the code page. If you want to see the designer view, click in the menu View and Designer. You can also use the shortcut SHIFT+F7. But first make sure, you opened the file in the project explorer.

Visual Studio 2013 Express Toolbox empty

I am trying to learn Visual Basic with the guidance of some YouTube Tutorials. They have recommended the use of Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2013 as it has a built in compiler. I encountered a problem where my toolbox bar on the left of my screen is empty. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Just right click inside tools and click on "show all"
Your code may be running. Make sure to stop all processes and view the toolbox again.
On Visual Studio C++ 2012, it also happen sometimes. Try, to right click inside the Toolbox dialog and click on "Reset Toolbox" item. It should solve your problem.
See same question: How to rebuild the Visual Studio Toolbox?
What you need to do is to open your code in [Design] view. In this view you don't see the code as text, but rather as windows and buttons and so on.
Choose your favorite way to switch to the [Design] view :
A. View > Designer
B. Shift + F7
C. In the Solution Explorer window double click Form1.cs

Visual Studio 2013 only showing attach in debug menu

I'm a Visual Studio and programming noob so please don't give me some advanced programming lingo that I'm not going to be able to understand.
Earlier today I was programming in C++ (I only started yesterday). But when I reopened VS to continue programming it didn't give me an option to debug, it only said "Attach...".
This is my first post so I'm not allowed to post pictures.

Right Click on your solution , select "set startup projects"
Opt for Single startup project and select you project
Click Apply or OK
In Visual Studio you need to have a solution (.sln) open to build and debug against. You currently only have a single file open, not the solution containing it. You should be able to find the solution in the File->Recent Projects and Solutions menu.

Visual studio 2005 "Object Test Bench" popup when debugging

When debugging a project in Visual Studio 2005, I have recently noticed a brief appearance of the "Object Test Bench" window. This window appears and then disappears after less than a second and does not look like the normal "Object Test Bench" window one sees when not debugging, as it looks like this:
alt text http://www.beok.co.il/images/ObjectTestBench.jpg
I would like to stop this window appearing and have tried the following:
Closing all Object Bench Test windows when not debugging
Resetting Visual Studio to default settings (devenv /ResetSettings)
Any other ideas?
Migrated? Hmm no code in this question. Anyway is the Object Test Bench perhaps open, but docked, so it pops up when the IDE state changes?
More info on the OTB on MSDN here :)
Edit: Here is what my VS 2005 OTB looks like.

I also have the same problem. I once had JetBrain's Resharper 4.5 installed. I uninstalled it after my trial expired, and I think that's when I noticed the Object Test Bench popping up when I debug.
Did either/both of you have Resharper or any other Visual Studio add-on installed/uninstalled before this problem?

I had what may be a similar problem: not just the Oject Test Bench, but also Breakpoint, Call Stack, and other windows popped up all over whenever I ran in Debug mode. It started during a project with a single page containing several (probably incompatible) jQuery scripts.
What worked for me was to click on Window -> "Auto Hide All", then again on Window -> "Reset Window Layout". That seemed to resolve it.
Go to on Window -> "Auto Hide All", after go on Window -> "Reset Window Layout". That will resolve the problem it.
