I'm trying to create some CRUD grids using Kendo UI + Codeigniter and i would like to ask if
anyone knows how to handle the Kendo scripts in the views. Is it better to use a common view
for all grids and pass each time the Kendo script as a paramater to the view or is it better
to use a separate view for each grid and hardcode the Kendo script in the view.
Or is there any better way?
For a web application it would be better to keep its discreteness - so creating separate view for each grid and hardcoding kendo script in the views would be the best option.

We use Kendo for ASP MVC and use lots of reusable Kendo windows with inputs, grid etc. in them.
Everytime we use reusable window we have to manually clear validation messages, inputs and grid on window open/close.
Is there any other approach to this problem?
I want to create editable Kendo MVC grid bound to local data(some IEnumerable<>).
I found this and this. But first is only for js and second is not ediatable.
Is it possible?
I have tried all modes of Editable. But Editable() requires to specify related actions and it's impossible to prevent its execution.
As far as I know, editing is not supported with server side binding. In the past, I have used a Template column with links to edit the items. An example:
cols.Template(#<text>Edit</text>)
I was trying to use the Kendo Grid UI control.
I am using the binding from Javascript with few template columns.
When the HTML is generated it gets two tables, one for header and one for body. This becomes hard for accessibility, can someone please guide me how do I set to generate only one table with header and data in it.
This issue is caused by setting grid to be scrollable. Scrollable property in Kendo UI for jQuery is true by default so you need to explicitly set it false.
If you are using Kendo UI for ASP.NET MVC then you have to remove GridBuilder's .Scrollable() method call.
Can we create a WEB GRID dynamically using JAVASCRIPT ?
I am using MVC 3 and Razor as my view.
On one of my Razor view I have a drop down box what I want is to create a web grid dynamically on selection of a drop down I get the data depending on the value selected from the drop down box.
Please help me on this.
I had to use ajax for this, where I had called a method using ajax and my method (present in the controller) returned a partial view.
My partial view had the grid I needed to show. and in the method (present in the controller) I had passed value from the dropdown box using ajax, and using this value I had queried my database and sent that model to the partial view.
Hy guys.
As you know the gridview control is super heavy and reduces performance of the page, as the viewstate length is higher.
I'm trying to get a alternative way to not use default asp.net gridview webforms.
In asp.net mvc we can pass a model for example with Examples[] and in the view iterate over this array and build a
grid and using a number of pages as a anchors than when clicked do a request to a one controller and retrieves json with content of the next 10 tuples in database.
My question is, what is for you guys the best way/more efficient to implement a gridview with paging in webforms?
We use classic AJAX calls and javascript to render and filling the gridVeiew. We are also using the jQuery gridviews now. I am aiming at the reduction of data transfered if we are using a asp:gridview inside a ajax:updatePanel.
Unless you plan to use the fill GridView functionality, I usually prefer rendering the UI out as HTML TABLE using a asp:Repeater control.
HTH.
