I honesty don't know how to put this. In mango version of windows phone internet explorer shows a black semi transparent layer when a link is tapped how can I avoid this.
Well, I do clearly understand what you are telling, but unfortunately, you can't avoid that. It is simply an indication that the link has been clicked. For usability sake.
This is for existing web-pages/sites. But if you are trying to develop an web-app using PhoneGap or something else, then you can change these links as JavaScript/jQuery events instead, and that should probably avoid it.

Im making a videoplayer in a wp7 app. Im using mediaelement to show the video, and sets its source from a url. Functionality i wanted are play/stop-buttons, forwarding/rewinding, a progressindicator (for the progress of the video itself) and show a progressbar when it buffers. I have accomplished all above, using some customized grids, buttons and so on.
I did get some trouble though, which i dont want to bother you with here (its a mess) and which is why im asking the following:
Is there a standard (or downloadable) control for wp7 that does all these things for me and that works perfectly. Ive searched "everywhere" but couldnt find anything. It surprises me that this isnt an easy to use, built in control that is easy to customize, since standard videoplayers are something id guess alot of apps could take advantage of.
Anyone?
Here is a tutorial on how to create a Windows Phone 7 View Model Style Video Player.
I am developing a monitor gadget that monitors production exceptions (by making JSONP Ajax requests).
Most of the time the information is not of interest and I wish for it to be behind other windows.
However, when an exception occurs, I would like for the gadget bring itself to the top of other windows to let me know of the problem.
Is this possible, does anyone know? I have a feeling not... is there another way that people can suggest? Or is it that windows gadgets are not really suitable for this sort of thing.
Thanks.
The answer is no.
However, I have managed to achieve the effect I wanted. Namely I set the gadget to be "always on top" and then have a minimized state that shrinks the gadget down to the smallest it can be and sets the background to an icon (surrounded by transparency). This give me an unobtrusive icon that I can dock into the top right of the screen.
Then, when an event occurs that I want to display, I have a Maximize() method in JS that restores the width/height of the gadget and shows some content (I actually use jQuery's animate method to do this which gives a nice "expansion", similar to the dock/undock transition).
Not sure it this is available for gadgets but on Windows machines you can use the Notification area. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa511448.aspx
i have developed my own map control (similar Bing Maps control), but when i move this map to right or left, Panorama changes view, but when i move the same bing map, view doesn't change. How i can do the behaviour of my control similarly as in Bing maps
The issue is that your control is trying to handle gestures and so is the Panorama. This was a big issue for a lot of people in the early version of the tools. The standard response was always to avoid this situation as it has implications for usability. Unfortunately there are some situations where you really need this.
The NoDo update (March 2011) included a "fix" to work around this issue for the built in controls. That doesn't help you though.
Fortunately there is a work around.
When contact is made with your control you disable the "IsHitTestVisible" property on the container so that it doesn't also receive the gestures you are capturing. Be sure to set it abck afterwards though.

Is there a way to display a browser control over the top of an XNA game on Windows Phone 7?
Basically I need to display some HTML, and then allow the user to return to the game.
So it can be full-screen if need be. It could even involve switching to Internet Explorer, if there's a way to return to the game from IE?
Is this possible?
It was announced that XNA and Silverlight would be available together in the same app starting with Mango update.
That might allow you to get what you're after.
I am not certain It would be nice if we could pop an html screen like we do on the iPhone. I know if you embed an url you can open ie. but as far as I know you can only get back to your game via the hardware back button.
You are not able to directly display HTML content in your XNA application due to the differences in the UI core. You are able, however, to invoke the WebBrowserTask. All you need to do is add a reference to Microsoft.Phone and then add a using statement for Microsoft.Phone.Tasks.
I want to make an app that shows pictures. But I want to be able to zoom in and out with gestures. I fixed this by including a toolkit into my project. But my actual question is, can I use or is there a control that's already created for me to show pictures like the picture library of the WP7 phone itself. I thought there wasn't but the Facebook app has a similar way of showing the pictures. Did Facebook rewrite the whole thing or is there a control somewhere that someone made?
The SlideView control in Telerik's RadControls for Windows Phone sounds like what you're looking for.
Have you tried a MultiScaleImage control? It's designed to work with multiple layers, but if you only specify one layer, it might suit what you're trying to do.
