How to get extra parameter from AjaxRequest wicket 6 - ajax

Hi all wicket pros out there,
I would like to get extra parameter I added to the AjaxRequest in the respond(AjaxRequestTarget target) method of a AbstractDefaultAjaxBehaviour.
I build the Wicket.Ajax.get(...) call by myself and I could manage that the respond(AjaxRequestTarget target) method of the AbstractDefaultAjaxBehaviour is invoked, but I get stock in how to get the extra parameters I added in my js call.
So here the code what I'm doing:
js that is called onSelect:
Wicket.ajax.get({'u':'callbackUrl','c':'componetId', 'ep':{'objectId':'OBJECT_ID'}});
java snippet of the AbstractDefaultAjaxBehaviour:
onSelectBehavior = new AbstractDefaultAjaxBehavior(){
#Override
protected void respond(AjaxRequestTarget target) {
//here I want to get the OBJECT_ID I added in the Wicket.Ajax.get call above
}
};
The respond() method is invoked as expected, but I don't know how to get the OBJECT_ID.
Actually I'm not sure at all if I added the extra parameter in the right way to the wicket.ajax.get call.
In Wicket 1.4 I added the extra parameters as a url query string like ajaxCallUrl...?objectId=OBJECT_ID and in respond() I got them back from the RequestCycle RequestCycle().get().getRequest().getParameter('objectId')
If anyone could give me a hint, I would appreciate it :)
Thanks in advance,
Ronny

Your approach is correct. You should be able to get the parameter like this:
#Override
protected void respond(AjaxRequestTarget target)
{
getRequest().getRequestParameters().getParameterValue("objectId");
}
See my answer to this question for passing parameters directly from Wicket without constructing the ajax call yourself.

rxBindings - How to know what consumer type should be when debouncing click events?

using rxBindings im trying to slow down a click event but i would like to know what the parameter is need.
For example, here is a call i am doing on a imageview. So ImageView v;
RxView.clicks(v)
.throttleFirst(400, TimeUnit.MILLISECONDS, AndroidSchedulers.mainThread())
.subscribe(new Consumer<Object>() {
#Override
public void accept(#io.reactivex.annotations.NonNull Object v) throws Exception {
showBottomSheet(getAdapterPosition());
}
});
but im im not sure what the parameter in accept should be ?
I was expecting i would get the view here but when i try changing the type to View i get an error of no such method.
If you look at the source code of the Observable generate using RxView.clicks(), you will see that when the click happens, the following code is triggered:
observer.onNext(Notification.INSTANCE);
that is defined in the library, as:
public enum Notification {
INSTANCE
}
It is just a convenient way for indicating that the event happened, it doesn't carry any extra information.

How to pursuade the ApiExplorer to create documentation for ExpandoObject?

I've created a very neat way of implementing a PATCH method for my Web.API project by making use of an ExpandoObject as a parameter. As illustrated below:
[HttpPatch, Route("api/employee/{id:int}")]
public IHttpActionResult Update(int id, [FromBody] ExpandoObject employee)
{
var source = Repository.FindEmployeeById(id);
Patch(employee, source);
Repository.SaveEmployee(source);
return Ok(source);
}
However, when generating documentation ApiExplorer is at a loss as to what to do with the ExpandoObject, which is totally understandable. Would anyone have any ideas on how to manipulate the ApiExplorer to provide some sensible documentation?
My idea was to maybe introduce an new attribute which points to the actual Type that is expected:
public IHttpActionResult Update(int id, [FromBody, Mimics(typeof(Employee))] ExpandoObject employee)
{
...
}
But I have no idea where to start, any ideas or suggestions are welcome.
So this has been the source of some late evenings in order to get the Api Explorer to play along with our developed Http Patch mechanism. Truth be told, I'd probably should do a bit of a proper write up to full explain the mechanics behind the whole idea. But for those of you who landed on this page because you want the Api explorer to use a different type in the documentation, this is where you need to look:
Open HelpPageConfigurationExtensions.cs and locate the following method:
//File: Areas/HelpPage/HelpPageConfigurationExtensions.cs
private static void GenerateRequestModelDescription(HelpPageApiModel apiModel, ModelDescriptionGenerator modelGenerator, HelpPageSampleGenerator sampleGenerator)
{
....
}
this is the location where the parameter information is available to you and also provides you with the ability to replace/substitute parameter information with something else. I ended up doing the following to handle my ExpandoObject parameter issue:
if (apiParameter.Source == ApiParameterSource.FromBody)
{
Type parameterType = apiParameter.ParameterDescriptor.ParameterType;
// do something different when dealing with parameters
// of type ExpandObject.
if (parameterType == typeof(ExpandoObject))
{
// if a request-type-attribute is defined, assume the parameter
// is the supposed to mimic the type defined.
var requestTypeAttribute = apiParameter.ParameterDescriptor.GetCustomAttributes<RequestTypeAttribute>().FirstOrDefault();
if (requestTypeAttribute != null)
{
parameterType = requestTypeAttribute.RequestType;
}
}
}
Just, note that the RequestTypeAttribute is something I devised. My WebApi endpoint looks like this now:
public IHttpActionResult Update(int id,
[FromBody, RequestType(typeof(Employee))] ExpandoObject employee)
Thank you to everyone who took time to look into the problem.

Conditional AJAX confirm with a new value in Wicket

I need to solve a simple problem, but yet I have not been able to found out any solution yet.
I have a simple DropDownChoice with AJAX onChange() JS event. I need to add a confirm box before the onUpdate() action is done - this is not difficult, BUT I need to display the confirm box only if the new selected value of the DropDownChoice is X (one certain value), and do not display the confirm box in any other case. Is it doable?
Short example snippet:
DropDownChoice<Integer> choice = new DropDownChoice<Integer>("id", new Model<Integer>(0));
choice.add(new AjaxFormComponentUpdatingBehavior("onchange") {
#Override
protected void onUpdate(AjaxRequestTarget target) {
// do some stuff
}
#Override
protected void updateAjaxAttributes(AjaxRequestAttributes attributes) {
super.updateAjaxAttributes(attributes);
attributes.getAjaxCallListeners().add(new AjaxCallListener() {
#Override
public CharSequence getPrecondition(Component component) {
return "return confirm('Really?')"; // I NEED THIS DISPLAYED CONDITIONALLY
}
}
}
}
I don't know how to access the "choice" model object (converted input...) with the proposed value to add it to a condition in updateAjaxAttributes() method.
Thank you.
I think you should go for a JavaScript-based solution. The code of AJAX call listener is executed in a scope where you can use variable attrs. This variable contains the parameters used to perform AJAX call, including the id of the component. In this way you could check for selected value.

AJAC MVC3 Request object and raw Ajax data, where the heck is it?

If this was a regular post of a form I could go to Request.Form['somevalue'] and get the value. If this was a get with a query string I could go to Request.QueryString["somevalue"] and get the value.
Where is the raw data when you post an ajax request. I need a value out of the raw data string in a filter method.
Any help will be appreciated!!
Edits below:
public class ValidateAntiForgeryId : FilterAttribute, IAuthorizationFilter {
public void OnAuthorization(AuthorizationContext filterContext) {
if (filterContext == null) {
throw new ArgumentNullException("filterContext");
}
Guid filterGuid;
Guid.TryParse(filterContext.RequestContext.HttpContext.Request.Form["__sessionId"], out filterGuid);
if (filterGuid == Guid.Empty)
throw new AuthenticationException("Authentication failure");
try {
var cookieGuid = (Guid)filterContext.RequestContext.HttpContext.Items["SessionId"];
} catch {
throw new AuthenticationException("Authentication failure");
}
}
The posted data looks like this:
{"SsnLastFour":"2222","AccountNumber":"B112233","__sessionId":"dca0a504-3c40-4118-ae19-afefb9bfc8bd"}
I need access to the __sessionId chunk inside the filter.
There's nothing magic about AJAX posts. They're just plain old HTTP. That means you have plain old HTTP post values, and/or plainold HTTP Get values.
If you're not seeing them, it probably means you're not actually submitting them.
EDIT:
Two issues you did not include in your original question: 1) That this is JSON, and 2) That this is in an AuthorizationFilter (rather than an action method).
Both change the answers. Since ASP.NET does not natively understand JSON post values, you will have to parse them, via Request.InputStream. MVC3 by default has a JSON model binder, but AuthorizationFilters execute before model binders do, so you will be accessing things prior to the model binders being executed, and as such FormsCollection won't be populated (Request.Form[] won't work either, because as I said, asp.net doesn't natively understand JSON).
You may find that installing JSON.net via nuget may help with this task. Or you might just write a simple parse routine, since you know exactly what you're looking for.
You can accept the parameter values the same way you accept in normal form post.
Ex :
$.get("User/Get", { userId : "24"} ,function(data){
alert(data);
});
or
$("#yourDivId").load("User/Get?userId=23");
Your action method should look like
public ActionResult Get(int userId)
{
// you have value present in userId
if(Request.IsAjax())
{
return View("Partial/MyPartialView");
}
return View();
}
One thing you have to remember is, the parameter name of your action method should be same as of what your parameter/querystring name.
The fitlerContext has an ActionParameters collection which should have the parsed JSON properties (in case that helps). This may be easier than parsing the InputStream.
var sessionId = filterContext.ActionParameters["__sessionId"];

Visual Studio Web Performance Test

I'm running into a "bad request" error when playing back a test. I've tracked it down to a comma and space in a button that has "Yes, Do" as its value. There is functionality in another page that runs based on this value. When I remove the comma and space in the both pages everything works perfectly. I've tried toggling the 'url encode' property for that field in the Web Perf Test to true, but it still fails. When I look at the details of the request it shows "Yes,+Do" as the querystring param. I can't change the control value in this situation. Any hints?
It seems odd that the value of a button is being passed as a query string parameter in the first place...
Is it set up where there is an extraction rule from a prior request and then that context parameter is used for a later request? If so, you can actually modify the value. You can either hard code the value in the later request, or if you still need to get it dynamically but just modify it, you can create a pretty simple plugin. Sample code for it would be:
public class StringCharsFromParam: WebTestRequestPlugin
{
public override void PreRequest(object sender, PreRequestEventArgs e)
{
string ExtractParam = ((string)e.WebTest.Context["NameOfContextParameter"]);
if (ExtractParam != null && ExtractParam.Contains(", ")
{
e.WebTest.Context["NameOfContextParameter"] = ExtractParam.Replace(", ", "");
}
}
}
You would then add this WebTestRequestPlugin to your WebTest.
