Im fairly new to this so please bear with...
I'm using the tutorial # http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/datePicker/v2/demo/index.html
to allow the user to select dates from a calendar
however I can't seem to get it working could someone please advise if I am going about this the wrong way...
'jquery.datePicker.js & datePicker.css' can be downloaded at near the top of the page on...
http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/datePicker/v2/demo/index.html
Copy the code in the '•jquery.datePicker.js ' inside my tags in my view
Copy the datePicker.css code into my css file
Paste the following into the top of my view page:
<!-- jQuery -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<!-- required plugins -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/date.js"></script>
<!--[if IE]><script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/jquery.bgiframe.js"></script><![endif]-->
<!-- jquery.datePicker.js -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/jquery.datePicker.js"></script>
This does not work...iv tried doing the first demo and replacting the .js data inside my<script> tags with
$(function()
{
$('.date-pick').datePicker();
});
and then adding the following to .css
/* located in demo.css and creates a little calendar icon
* instead of a text link for "Choose date"
*/
a.dp-choose-date {
float: left;
width: 16px;
height: 16px;
padding: 0;
margin: 5px 3px 0;
display: block;
text-indent: -2000px;
overflow: hidden;
background: url(calendar.png) no-repeat;
}
a.dp-choose-date.dp-disabled {
background-position: 0 -20px;
cursor: default;
}
/* makes the input field shorter once the date picker code
* has run (to allow space for the calendar icon
*/
input.dp-applied {
width: 140px;
float: left;
}
could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for the reply, i got it going
had to...add the following to my layout page
<script src="#Url.Content("http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/datePicker/v2/demo/scripts/date.js")" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="#Url.Content("http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/datePicker/v2/demo/scripts/jquery.datePicker.js")" type="text/javascript"></script>
<link href="#Url.Content("http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/datePicker/v2/demo/styles/datePicker.css")" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<link href="#Url.Content("http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/datePicker/v2/demo/styles/demo.css")" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
then in my .cshtml file I added (below) after the editor for ref.
<script>
$("#HolidayDate").addClass('date-pick');
$('.date-pick').datePicker();
</script>

I'm trying to add a transition between pages in a SvelteKit application. When navigating, the current page should fade out, and the new page should then fade in in its place. To accomplish this, in +layout.svelte, I wrapped the <slot> in a div with the in and out transitions set. I wrapped this all in {#key $page.url.pathname} so that the animations are triggered when navigating from page to page. However, my current code produces this effect:
When navigating, the content of the page updates before fading out. In other words, the destination page immediately appears, then fades out, then fades back in. At the same time, though, content in +layout.svelte (.title, at the top of the page) behaves correctly; just the content within the <slot> is bugged.
Here is the code:
+layout.svelte
<script lang="ts">
import '$lib/style.css';
import { page } from '$app/stores';
import { fade } from 'svelte/transition';
</script>
<div class="page">
<div class="bar">
Sidebar
Page 1
Page 2
</div>
<div class="content-wrapper">
{#key $page.url.pathname}
<div class="content" in:fade={{ delay: 1000, duration: 1000 }} out:fade={{ duration: 1000 }}>
<div class="title">
{$page.url.pathname}
</div>
<slot />
</div>
{/key}
</div>
</div>
<style global>
.page {
display: flex;
flex-direction: row;
box-sizing: border-box;
width: 100vw;
min-height: 100vh;
}
.bar {
display: flex;
flex-direction: column;
width: 300px;
color: white;
background: black;
}
a {
color: white;
}
.content-wrapper {
flex-grow: 1;
width: 100%;
min-height: 100vh;
}
.content {
width: 100%;
height: 100%;
}
.title {
font-size: 2em;
}
</style>
+page.svelte
<div class="page">
<div class="title">Page 1</div>
</div>
<style>
.page {
width: 100%;
height: 100%;
background: blue;
}
</style>
page2/+page.svelte
<div class="page">
<div class="title">Page 2</div>
</div>
<style>
.page {
width: 100%;
height: 100%;
background: red;
}
</style>
Is there a way to get the <slot> content to wait for the out animation to finish before updating?
Its an issue with the lifecycle of the transitions for in and out.
I usually use in:fade ONLY on elements and it looks okay. It seems using both means that while one element is going out, another is coming in at the same time in which looks funny.
Perhaps you could find out more about delay in transitions and let us know..
Happy coding☺️
I have the code corect for jquery to make rounded corners.. I have tested it with just a background color, and it works fine.
However, I want to apply the corners to images. It just won't work for me!
I have created an example page where I have the image with the class, right next to a div with the same class but only has a background color.. The image won't work, but the colored 'box' will.
I have tried coding it three different ways, and it still wont work. (I don't need all three ways of coding to work.. just one will do! ;'D )
Here is my Fiddle link: http://jsfiddle.net/SunnyOz/g46Gx/
Here is the test page online: http://www.webau.net/TC/example/corner_test.htm
Here is the CSS:
* {
border: 0 none;
}
.content {
width: 900px;
background-color: #fff;
margin: 0 auto;
}
.innertube {
padding: 20px;
}
.imgBox, .imgBox img { width:493px; height:257px; margin:0; padding:0 }
.divToHaveCorners, .divToHaveCorners img { width:493px; height:257px; margin:0; padding:0; display: block; }
Here is the HTML:
<div class="content">
<div class="innertube">
<br clear="all" />
<br clear="all" />
<img class="roundimg" src="http://webau.net/TC/example/images/motorcycle1.jpg" />
<div class="roundimg" style="width: 200px; height: 100px; background-color: #701080;">Hello World!</div>
<br clear="all" />
<br clear="all" />
<div class="imgBox"><img src="http://webau.net/TC/example/images/motorcycle1.jpg" /></div>
<div class="imgBox" style="width: 200px; height: 100px; background-color: #701080;">Hello World!</div>
<br clear="all" />
<br clear="all" />
<img class="divToHaveCorners" src="http://webau.net/TC/example/images/motorcycle1.jpg" />
<div class="divToHaveCorners" style="width: 200px; height: 100px; background-color: #701080;">Hello World!</div>
<br clear="all" />
<br clear="all" />
</div>
</div>
Here is the internal Javascript code:
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".roundimg").corner("tl 50px").corner("br 50px");
$(".imgBox").corner("15px");
$('.divToHaveCorners').corner();
});
My external JS references are:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://webau.net/TC/example/jquery-1.7.1.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://webau.net/TC/example/jquery.corner.js"></script>
.
I am assuming that I have left out something really simple.. but I just can't see it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
SunnyOz
This does it, but there are also a TON of plugins that make these kinds of things a lot easier to use like imgr. Also- using this as a reference may be very helpful to you. Cheers!

In this line
$('#autoSuggestionsList').html(data);
you are setting some html that I assume consists of a list of div tags with your auto-suggestions. If you want the user to be able to click on the list, you need to have a click handler attached to the suggestions that loads the value. Like
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#autoSuggestionsList div").on("click", function() {
//put your click actions here.. load the textbox, hide the list
});
}
The on command is live, meaning it will automatically be bound to elements that are loaded dynamically.
EDIT
Since you're using li instead of div, change the above to
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#autoSuggestionsList li").on("click", function() {
fill($(this).text());
});
}
EDIT 2
In the new code you added, this line is incorrect
out.println("<li onclick='fill("+rs.getString("EMP_FNAME")+");>"+rs.getString("EMP_FNAME")+" </i>");
It will produce incorrect HTML/Javascript that looks like this:
<li onclick='fill(some text);>some text</i>
Your code should look like this:
out.println("<li onclick='fill(\""+rs.getString("EMP_FNAME")+"\");'>"+rs.getString("EMP_FNAME")+" </li>");
It will produce the following correct HTML/JavascriptL
<li onclick='fill("some text");'>some text</li>
I am setting up a page with jQuery's Cycle plugin and have four divs set to fade. I have the code in place, the images set, but it doesn't cycle properly. Firefox says there is a problem with the following code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$('.slideshow').cycle({
fx: 'fade'
});
});
</script>
Here is the html:
<div class="slideshow">
<div id="mainImg-1" class="slide">
<div class="quote">
<h2>Building Big Relationships with Small Business.</h2>
<p>“This is quote Number One.<br />
They are there when I need them the most.”</p>
<p><span class="author">Jane Doe – Charlotte Flower Shop</span></p>
<div class="help">Let Us Help You</div>
</div>
</div>
<div id="mainImg-2" class="slide">
<div class="quote">
<h2>Building Big Relationships with Small Business.</h2>
<p>“This is quote Number Two.<br />

<p><span class="author">Jane Doe – Charlotte Flower Shop</span></p>

</div>
<div id="mainImg-3" class="slide">

<div id="mainImg-4" class="slide">

They are there when I need them the most.”</p>
<p><span class="author">Jane Doe – Charlotte Flower Shop</span></p>
<div class="help">Let Us Help You</div>
</div>
</div>
Here is the CSS:
.slideshow { width: 946px; height: 283px; border: 1px solid #c29c5d; margin: 8px; overflow: hidden; z-index: 1; }
#mainImg-1 { width: 946px; height: 283px; background: url(../_images/main.jpg) no-repeat 9px 9px; }
#mainImg-2 { width: 946px; height: 283px; background: url(../_images/main.jpg) no-repeat 9px 9px; }
#mainImg-3 { width: 946px; height: 283px; background: url(../_images/main.jpg) no-repeat 9px 9px; }
#mainImg-4 { width: 946px; height: 283px; background: url(../_images/main.jpg) no-repeat 9px 9px; }
#mainImg-1 .quote,
#mainImg-2 .quote,

#mainImg-4 .quote { width: 608px; height: 168px; float: right; margin: 80px 11px 0 0; background: url(../_images/bg_quoteBox.png) repeat-x; }
Before you go off and say, "hey, those images are all the same". You are right, the images are all the same right now, but the text should be rotating as well and there is a slight difference there. In addition, the fade should still show up.
Anyway, you can see the dev page here: http://173.201.163.213/projectpath/first_trust/index.html
I would appreciate some help to get this cycling through as it should.
Thanks!

Thanks for any help in advance :)
Basically, you're using mostly HTML5 specific elements, and they're not supported everywhere properly yet, especially IE8 out of those you listed.
For a quick look, Here's the list of elements added in HTML5.
Try using a debug tool like Firebug or the IE developer toolbar to figure out which elements are being placed wrongly and why.
Both let you hover your mouse over blocks and will highlight the corresponding HTML. You will be able to see exactly which element it is that is being placed incorrectly, and view the CSS to try and figure out why.
Johnny, does your solution also fix the incorrect rendering in Firefox 2 and Camino 1? Interesting, as I only know of the Javascript solution. Just to give you some more feedback on this: to learn more about getting HTML5 rendered properly in all major browsers, read this article by Nico Hagenburger. You can also use this script to render HTML5 in IE.
A more general article about HTML5 and CSS3 support in IE (e.g., your corners aren't rounded) in this article. For rounded corners in all major browsers (also in Opera) please read this one. There also exist general tables about support in all major browsers of HTML5 and CSS3.
EDIT: I just read an article about HTML5 pages not rendered properly when printing from within IE, because this JavaScript solution isn't loaded when printing a page. More info on doctype.com.
