the other day I was moving my laptop with wireless mouse. I accidentally dropped my mouse and I don't know which buttons were clicked. However, the expose feature (just like on a Mac) came up and I was really impressed! I like Mac and own one, but am still a Windows guy at heart. Anyone know? I am not talking about installing external software, I know the feature is built into Windows 8 because I saw it firsthand. Searches for expose, tips and tricks online turned up nothing. Thanks!
Okay, I figured it out. I love Microsoft... This might work with any external mouse supporting three buttons. I am using a wireless Microsoft USB mouse with three buttons, with the middle supporting scroll functionality (a wheel). If I hold the left or right mouse button down and then click the scroll wheel, the expose comes up. I can also let go of both buttons so that if I use my scrolling, I can select which application I want to focus on (or just click the app you want too). The only thing I did not figure out is that when this first happened, the apps surrounded my desktop in the expose. This time, they just appear as an organized grid. Solution by webappguy-dot-com.
windows 8 has no native "expose" like mac has.
still, there is software around the web that can do it.
to trigger app scrolling do alt+tab

I'm currently using Qpython and Sl4A to run python scripts on my Droid device.
Does anybody know of a way to use something like PyAutoGUI on mobile to automate tapping sequences (which would be mouse clicks on a desktop or laptop)?
I feel like it wouldn't be too hard, but I'm not quite sure how to get the coordinates for positions on the mobile device.
Something like PyAutoGui for Android is AutoInput. It's a part of the main app Tasker. If you've heard about Tasker, then you know what I'm taking about.
If not, them Tasker is an app built to automate your Android Device. If you need specific taps and scrolls, then you can install the plug-in Auto Input for Tasker. It's precisely allows you to tap a point in your screen.
Or, if you have a rooted device, then you can directly run shell commands from Tasker without the need of any Plug-in.
Now, you can get the precise location of your x,y coordinate easily.
Go to settings, About Phone, and Tap on
Build Number until it says, "You've unlocked developer options."
Now, in the settings app, you will have a new developer options. Click on that, then scroll down till you find "Show Pointer Location" and turn that on. Now wherever you tap and hold the screen, the top part of your screen will give you the x,y coordinate of that spot.
I hope this helps. Please comment if you have any queries.
Unfortunately no. PyAutoGUI only runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux

I bought a dell laptop which comes without o/s, so I buy Windows 8.1 DVD and install in the new machine.
The problem is, every time when I am doing something, Windows popup a Black bar on the right hand side showing some basic buttons (Search, Share, Start, Devices, Settings), a small popup also appear on the bottom right showing current time, Wifi signal and battery life.
I pops 10-15 times within an hour. Its really frustrating when I am typing something or filling some password etc and atonce my focus from the current screen removes and I see that annoying black menu.
I even don't know this menu name.
Can an expert help me removing this menu.
Thanks in advance
That menu is called the Charms bar, and appears when you move the mouse to the top or bottom right corners and keep it there for a few seconds.

How could I switch off primary Macbook screen?
I'm working with 2 External via Thunderbolt and HDMI on new Retina Macbook.
I want to switch off retina display and work just with external monitors without closing the cover of my laptop. Is there any setup option for that? I didn't find it under Preferences.
It seems to be possible to sleep display so by I/O Kit:
http://explanatorygap.net/2009/01/31/a-screensaver-to-send-your-display-to-sleep/
But I am not sure whether it can control single monitors.
you are searching for the 'clamshell' mode. the only way i get this to work is to wake my mac with external keyboard while the lid stays closed
see: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3131
This worked like a charm on my old macbook (late 2008) with opening the lid again and the screen stays off until 'force' detecting it...
however, my retina display also wakes when in clamshell and then being opened.
There is a reason to this: Heat.
Aluminium macbooks can get really hot, especially since the vents are in the back and blowing the heat up in front of the opened display. Your retina macbook shuts itself down at about 110°C to 130°C, but please be careful.
EDIT
you can try different solutions posted here: http://www.cultofmac.com/176329/

Just updated to Mac Lion (aka OSX 10.7.5) I searched with Goggle for advice on how to revert the "new" (to me anyway) scrolling behavior. (I've decided that needing to be cross functional in Windows and Mac that I will have difficulty learning the "new" convention. The control panels for the Logitech mouse version m555b are not the default ones I am seeing in the advice online that allows one to specify that "natural scrolling" will be disabled. Not really a coding question, but does seem to fall within configuring a user interface. If you want to refer me to another venue, please do so. I'll delete the question if advised to do so.
Edit. Since I didn't convey the lack of the desired disable natural scrolling button, I will show the dialog panels I do see.
Apple Menu in top left of screen: System Preferences: Mouse: Disable Natural Scrolling
This should work, unless your question was getting at something different.

I'm trying to figure out how to render text on Windows with the same display as Mac rendered text, e.g: http://igadgetlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/11.png (That picture is not perfect, but it showcases the neat anti aliasing that Mac has)
I've looked at GDI++/Freetype, and it seems too unstable and it has a lack of documentation. If anyone has any suggestions, that'd be great.
The reason I am asking is because I am trying to make a writing program where text readability and text display are two important factors.
Thanks
The solution lies in using gdipp to override the default font-rendering engine in Windows. Just download the latest package from their Google project page and double click to install it.
It will automatically get installed as a service. If you don't notice any change in the way fonts render, open Run -> Type services.msc -> Right click gdipp -> Click Start.
You may need to restart your computer once for all programs to start respecting gdipp's rendering engine.
EDIT: Alternatively, look at MacType. It's a user-space application that won't require being run as a service. It works with Chrome as well.
