Is there any good tutorial/source code to parse jSon data into the cocos2d project? I know how to parse jSon (also the XML) into the xcode and display into the tableview but I need to do that for my cocos2d project.
Here is what I was trying to do:

#import "HelloWorldLayer.h"
#import "GameScene.h"
#import "JSON.h"
#define kLatestKivaLoansURL #"http://api.kivaws.org/v1/loans/search.json?status=fundraising"

{
// 'scene' is an autorelease object.
CCScene *scene = [CCScene node];
// 'layer' is an autorelease object.

// add layer as a child to scene
[scene addChild: layer];
// return the scene
return scene;
}

// always call "super" init
// Apple recommends to re-assign "self" with the "super's" return value
if( (self=[super init]) ) {

There are a lot of ways to deserialize JSON objects, some ways are even baked into the SDK.
This question details a few ways you can approach the problem.
or you can take your JSON and have this utility generate the parsing code for you

I have been trying to figure this issue out for days now with no luck, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have a uitableviewcontroller that loads data from core data. When the tableview loads, the first 6 (no matter how many objects are actually saved) are loaded. When I begin to scroll down, all of the following cells are labeled "(null)". When I go back up to the top, the data in the original 6 cells are replaced with "(null)". When I logged the contents of the array from the fetch, all of the objects from core data get logged, but when I log the contents of the cell, the first 6 contents get logged, the a long list of rows with (null) get logged.
I've tried a lot of differnet things to debug this, but nothing has worked so far.
Here is the tableviewcontroller file
-(void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated

Well maybe this is your problem.
if ([self.search isEqual:#0]){
I think you are initially fetching the data but than once you init the searchController it starts looking for the searchResults.
The code you are looking is:
if ([self.search isActive]){
I found the solution. I changed
AppDelegate *del = [[AppDelegate alloc] init];
NSManagedObjectContext *context = del.managedObjectContext;
to
AppDelegate *del = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate];
NSManagedObjectContext *context =[del managedObjectContext];
and it works perfectly.
How can I change this UITableViewController custom class to dynamically change the height of the Table View Cells? I have specified different font sizes for the iPad and iPhone size classes.

I am creating a student index app, in which you can save names, pictures and roles of students. Everything works just fine, but my code does not save images in my Core Data Model. I have been trying to figure it out the whole day.

Thanks in advance for ur help. Cheers
Generally you shouldn't save the image in Core Data. Instead, save it in a file on disk and save the path to the file in Core Data model.
This line:
student.bild.vorschauData = _vorschauImageView.image;
makes it look like the student has a relationship (bild) to some other object which contains the image. You need to create that object, insert it into the context and associated it with the student before you can use it.

What is it? Help please.
Your problem is that you probably do another plistget method after that 3-5 minutes. That method will throw away all objects from your array. During the time your data is getting loaded and the time you cleared your array, the table datasource is empty, however you are trying to get this object from index 0. This is why your crash happens.
The solution however is simple. Do not call the removeAllObjects method at all.
Simply replace the array with the contents that you will retrieve.
Replace mechanic that you will need to do the moment you get the data from your server:
NSMutableArray *tempDataArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init];
//put retrieved data from your web call in the tempDataArray
array = tempDataArray;
me thinks the only objectAtIndex is here.
cell.detailTextLabel.text = [array objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
seems likely array was emptied by plistget
[array removeAllObjects];
Totumus Maximus is right.
If you just need to bridge the gap between getting clearing the arrays and reloading the data why not try NOT deleting them until the new data is ready? Then just replace them
Alternatively make a copy of them first (say to backUpArray and backUpArray2) and then check to see if you have data in array/array2 (something like if([array count]) or if (array) {...) before you try and load the cell.
If you have nothing in the arrays use [backUpArray lastObject] to give you some data for the (brief ?) time until the arrays are reloaded.
I need to find my current location with CoreLocation, I tried multiple methods but so far my CLLocationManager has only returned 0's.. (0.000.00.000).
Here's my code (updated to work):
Imports:
#import <CoreLocation/CoreLocation.h>
Declared:
IBOutlet CLLocationManager *locationManager;
IBOutlet UILabel *latLabel;
IBOutlet UILabel *longLabel;
Functions:
- (void)getLocation { //Called when needed
latLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%f", locationManager.location.coordinate.latitude];
longLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%f", locationManager.location.coordinate.longitude];
}
- (void)viewDidLoad {
locationManager = [[CLLocationManager alloc] init];
locationManager.distanceFilter = kCLDistanceFilterNone; // whenever we move
locationManager.desiredAccuracy = kCLLocationAccuracyHundredMeters; // 100 m
[locationManager startUpdatingLocation];
}
You can find your location using CoreLocation like this:
import CoreLocation:
#import <CoreLocation/CoreLocation.h>
Declare CLLocationManager:
CLLocationManager *locationManager;
Initialize the locationManager in viewDidLoad and create a function that can return the current location as an NSString:
- (NSString *)deviceLocation {
return [NSString stringWithFormat:#"latitude: %f longitude: %f", locationManager.location.coordinate.latitude, locationManager.location.coordinate.longitude];
}
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
locationManager = [[CLLocationManager alloc] init];
locationManager.distanceFilter = kCLDistanceFilterNone; // whenever we move
locationManager.desiredAccuracy = kCLLocationAccuracyHundredMeters; // 100 m
[locationManager startUpdatingLocation];
}
And calling the deviceLocation function will return the location as expected:
NSLog(#"%#", [self deviceLocation]);
This is just an example. Initializing CLLocationManager without the user being ready for it isn't a good idea. And, of course, locationManager.location.coordinate can be used to get latitude and longitude at will after CLLocationManager has been initialized.
Don't forget to add the CoreLocation.framework in your project settings under the Build Phases tab (Targets->Build Phases->Link Binary).
With CLLocationManager you don't necessary get the location information immediately. The GPS and other devices that obtain location information might not be initialized. They can take a while before they have any information. Instead you need to create a delegate object that responds to locationManager:didUpdateToLocation:fromLocation: and then set it as the delegate of the location manager.
see here
Here you can show current location with annotation details
