Collection View Cell Won't Allow Me to Select - xcode

This is probably a really easy fix; I have been reading countless forums and tutorials and can't seem to find answer.
In my app I have a popover collection view to select a specific option and return a value...
However it won't highlight or select? I can see the NS Log Outputs never show a selection or datapass.

There are a number of issues here. Firstly, I think you mixed up the delegate methods for selection. The collectionView:performAction:forItemAtIndexPath:withSender: method is only for special menu popovers and has nothing to do with selecting a cell per se. What you need to implement in your delegate is this:
- (void)collectionView:(UICollectionView *)collectionView didSelectItemAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
NSLog(#"Selected cell at index path %#", indexPath);
}
right now you're just implementing the deselect callback.
Beyond that, also make sure that your image view in the UICollectionViewCell has touches enabled, otherwise you might be blocking touch events to reach the cell and it won't fire any delegate calls. I hope that helps!

How to do searching in NSTableView with NSSearchField?

I have implemented a application in which I use NSTableview with the help of its data source and delegates I have not used NSArrayController nor I want to use it. My question is how can I bind NSSearchField with my NSTableView in this situation? I had seen a lot of answer using NSArrayController.
I do not want to convert implementation to NSArrayController as things are working good with NSMutableArray.
TableView is a display control and is not for filtering.

UITableViewController shows the same cell after updating to xcode 6

My UITableViewController works not properly after updating xcode to version 6.
Im using custom cells in my tableview:

After updating xcode to version 6 all controller cells show the same book info using the last BookData in _searchResult list, although the data passed to BookDataTableViewCell are allways different.
Yesterday, befor update, the controller worked as expected...
Some idea what might have gone wrong?

could not dequeue collection view when using UIImage objects in Cell

I am having trouble getting this code to run after having it crash after several iterations. The intended behaviour is to simply display images in a Collection View from an array. If I comment out all the objects in the array, it runs with an empty collection view.
logo.png exists and can be properly loaded in other parts of the app through the dropdown. Delegate and DataSource is properly set to self. The Collection View has a single cell displayed with an ImageView in it (tagged as 100) and nothing else. Having a label instead of an image view causes a crash with any objects in the array as well.

The debugging output means that it cannot find a cell called 'Cell'. In your storyboard you need to set the Collection Reusable View value of the UICollectionViewCell to 'Cell' so that the UICollectionView knows what cell to use

TableView code to display plist is not working, Is it because it has to be on a UITableView Controller? (Xcode)

I cannot get my plist to display on my app. I need to use TableView and not a TableView Controller. Im not sure if I have followed the wrong code when first attempting it. Please take a look.

Change the uitableview property to strong instead of weak. I do this to have a strong pointer to the tableview so it does not get deallicateded. Also you need to connect the delegate and datasource of the uitableview to the uiviewcontroller in the storyboard. So the protocol methods will be called in your uiviewcontroller. If they are not connected the protocol methods are not being called so nothing will show up in your table view.
If you have an array of dictionaries the fornumberofrows return [myarray count];
Connecting the datasource and delegate in the storyboard is overlooked a lot of times so check this first. I hope this helps!
Did you set Delegate and Datasource in the XIB?
Other things you need to check is ,
Put break point in below methods and check if it s firing

-(UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
Make sure you are not returning zero in the first two methods.
If either of first 2 methods are not firing then it means you did not added the datasource in XIB

objectAtIndex - Message sent to deallocated instance

I am having a real problem finding where my problem is in my search controller. This is a table view with search bar and search display controller. It used to work fine, but all the sudden it stopped working. I turned on NSZombieEnabled and it shows that my NSArray called searchDataSource is the zombie.
When you type a search term the "shouldReloadTableForSearchTerm" executes the handleSearchForTerm function. The handleSearchForTerm" function accesses my ProductInfo class that query a SQLite database and returns the query results. Those results are then placed in my searchDataSource Array. Everything appears to work fine there. However, once I get to the "cellForRowAtIndexPath" function and I try to load the cells from the searchDataSource, that is when I run in to the problem of the Array having been deallocated.

I am quite new to objective-C and can't understand what I did wrong. I have spent days trying to figure this out and have had no luck. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.

This bit of code seems to be the only place searchDataSource gets set:
NSArray *productInfo = [[ProductsDatabase database] searchListing:searchTerm];
self.searchDataSource = productInfo;
[self.mainTableView reloadData];
[productInfo release];
If ProductsDatabase follows the rules, you don't own the returned array (i.e. it is already autoreleased) so the release on the fourth line is incorrect.
Don't you mean to use your searchResults-array instead of your searchDataSource, because in handleSearchForTerm: you are adding the results to it. Why do you even have the searchResult ivar? It's only used in handleSearchForTerm:, maybe some mixup there?
