Is there a SMART download tool I can use? I am trying to download a file that is 1.5 GB. I am using AT&T net service and I am using Windows 8. I am using Firefox 18, and also the computer has I.E. 10. The AT&T net service breaks every 20 minutes or something is wrong. I have tried to download the file many times over the past week, but always a failure. At times IE or Firefox downloads 10MB, or 100MB, or 150 MB, or 250 MB, but then says failure. Then I have to start all over again. Is there a smart download tool, that when the connection breaks, instead of starting over with the download it can continue with previous download from the point of the failure.
I am in a wheelchair and cannot move much and I have no access to any other computer or service. thank you

In my organization, we have people at several locations in the US and abroad. For Lunch & Learn sessions, I sometimes download educational videos (Creative Commons License) and would like to broadcast them to participants at our other locations.
I have being using GotoMeeting, but the results are poor -- the remote videos cannot keep up with the broadcast video, even though we have very fast Internet connections (50/20 at most locations).
Is there some software, either free or low cost, that I can install on my Mac (OS X 10.8.5) that will allow me to stream the videos, with me having control over pausing, etc. (I pause when when someone wants to discuss some aspect of the video)? All of the participants are on a VPN and can access my Mac's IP address.
I would rather not have to set up a whole web application to do this.
Although my preference is for Mac OS X software, Windows software will also work for me.
VLC media player is a free tool on both Mac OSX and Windows which can broadcast a video stream. I have never used this function myself though, so I can't explain in detail how to use it.

I have to start a pocket application. I have choose Lazarus for developing it, coz it is pascal based and free.
But in dbms stage, i have limits with it.
anyway. Firebird server doesnt work on locally at wince.
at now im using dbf iii+ but it has no sql command support. do you have any idea ? Do you know a good component for connect mssql compact edition on wince ?
Regards.
See the Lazarus forum. There are some threads about using sqlite on Wince , with links to third party builds (even older WinCEs with armv4's) e.g:

Another option is the TDBF component that comes with FPC/Lazarus.

I am in charge of developing a windows phone app which should be able to show statistics from windowsphone dashboard
Is there any API where someone can get Statistics of windows phone Apps like total downloads, downloads per day,.. ect
or please suggest me how to achieve this
One alternative for retrieving data is to use mimvi api - here is a link
mimvi offers search: http://api.mimvi.com/1.1/search?q={0}&platform=windows
the response is json and you have basic information about rating, version, price etc.
i hope this can help you.
You can access the download count and many other details about your app through the dashboard. You can also see reviews, ratings and telemetry data if you have opted for that in your app. There is no API to track downloads currently.
This is for both Windows Phone and Windows 8 store

I have been using CodeKit for front-end developing on Mac. The most convenient features are:
Project File Organization
Easy compilation and minification for SCSS, LESS and CoffeeScript
Project watching, auto compilation
Browser Auto-reload and CSS-injection
These features are extremely useful and time-saving. Therefore I wonder if there is an equivalent software on Windows with the same features? Or, can I DIY something like this by combining all the existing tools?
http://mixture.io
I've only used it for five minutes and it has already auto complied my LESS files and live reloaded in my browser.
It is still in beta, it offers a huge amount that I've only started reading about.
You can try http://alphapixels.com/prepros. It can compile less, sass, scss, coffee and much more with live browser refresh.
Koala is an alternative that is quite similar to codekit, not as good but close enough.

I'm looking for a pc app that runs in the background and collates simple information about applications im running. Hopefully including the opened project (whereby visual studio includes the title of the project in the window title).
Also if it could include periods of inactivity that would be useful.
It's intended to help me fill out the dreaded timesheets!
Sounds like the exact situation that TimeSnapper was designed for.
From the website:
What is it?
TimeSnapper is an Automatic Screenshot
Journal
It runs in the background of your
computer, taking screenshots of your
desktop every few seconds all week
long.
Note: I'm not connected to these guys, not even as a customer. Well, I do read the blog. :-)
Check out Rescuetime
I rather like Slife, it gives me enough information to make timesheets.
Try out ProcrastiTracker
Try http://ptm.sourceforge.net/ It tracks how much time is spent in each application but doesn't keep track of the window titles. You can also create your own tasks. It will prompt you anywhere from every 10 minutes to an hour to see if your still working on the same task, if you don't click the still continuing button it will go to idle.
