I have created a custom payment gateway module which allows to integrate a particular bank's payment gateway into a person's Magento site. Now what I want to do is to upload this module as a commercial module so that other people can pay, download and can use it in their sites.
My problem is which licensing method should I use from below? Are there any coding standards to be followed to it be a commercial module? Are there any other procedures to be taken? How should I proceed?

Dasun, use Custom License. And then in License URL you have to give link explaining custom terms and conditions for this license. If you are creating custom terms, then better have a link on your site, something like EULA (End-user License Agreement)?
For example what it should have in it, check this http://magentools.com/eula/
For commercial extensions you will need to provide a link where users will be able to navigate to purchase your extension.
You give YOUR website link where you will sell your extension. Magento DOES NOT sell your extension, it just displays your extension and gives buyer a link to your website. You will handle the payment OUTSIDE of Magento (your website), payment method can be anything, you will configure it and Magento does not care about it as it's outside their scope.
Best way is to configure your payment in a way that once the said payment is made, the extension will automatically emailed to the buyer. If you are manually verifying the payment, mention in the extension description or your terms that it will take X hours/days to email extension after payment is successfully made.

We have been trying to publish the new version of the extension which is already in Chrome Web Store, but Google rejected it sending the following email:
**Your item did not comply with the following section of our Program Policies:
"User Data Privacy"
The Privacy Policy & Secure Transmission section requires that:
If your product handles personal or sensitive user data (including personally identifiable information, financial and payment information, health information, authentication information, website content and resources, form data, web browsing activity, user-provided content and personal communications), then your product must:
- Post a privacy policy.
- Handle the user data securely, including transmitting it via modern cryptography.
To comply with this policy:
Provide a working link to your privacy policy in the appropriate field in the Chrome Web Store Developer Dashboard.
The link must lead to a privacy policy that is owned by you.
The privacy policy must also accurately and fully disclose all the details pertaining to how your product collects, uses and shares user data, including the types of parties with whom the data is shared.**
There is the working Privacy Policy link in Chrome Web Store Developer Dashboard that contains detailed information about which data we collect, how we do that and use this information; how this data transmitted and secured. We have also described the usage of permissions in Chrome Web Store Developer Dashboard, but Google still declines our submission. We have been trying to directly contact Chrome Web Store team for more details, but ,unfortunately, there is no response from them and they are continuously sending the email above without additional clarifications... Did anyone experience the same problem? How were you manage to resolve it?
Have the same issue. My guess is that they're trying to have everyone comply with GDPR &/or CCPA to be safe.
I will take a look at Grammarly's terms to see what a company that constantly updates their Chrome Extension does.
Chrome's User Data FAQ's are also a great resource.
In my case, my extension is a free (not for profit) extension that does not really handle or store user information, nor does it track data. So I may try doing what others have done and just spell that out in the description.
Hope this helps!

I have been doing a work in outsystems platform.
My works is a recruitment application where you add candidates to your app with a curriculum. You then choose the best ones to schedule an interview with, and eventually you can hire them to your company. Well, I don't known if you guys really need to know what my app is about, or what it does but I can explain better or eventually show it if it helps with my problem.
Well what I want is:
- When I register a candidate, I add a name, an email address, and a phone number. With this email, Outsystems offers a widget that can find all networks referred to that person (by email), that widget (I am not sure if this is the correct name for this tool, maybe API is more correct) can be found in Logic and inside the folder called Dependencies, that widget is called FullContact. To use that API you must create a new action. I did it and I filled the mandatory parameters called Email with Candidate Email. I am not sure what to put in APIKey parameter, I tried a lot of things and when I publish and test it I always have the same error called 403 Forbidden. What I am doing wrong?
I am not sure if this question is supposed to be done here, if it is not just tell me and I can delete the question and search somewhere else.
what I have is this: app print
I am not sure what to put in APIkey, I saw an example and the person that did it added an assign and an ajax refresh. Do I need it to? And this is the error I get when I test the app enter link description here
I never worked with FullContact before but from some researches I learned the following:
Overview: The FullContact Developer APIs are used to manage and enhance contact information.
Authentication: All requests to all endpoints require you to specify your unique API key. The API Key is assigned to you by FullContact and is used to identify and authorize each request. Your API key should be kept private, and should never be displayed publicly.
To signup and get your free trial: https://portal.fullcontact.com/signup
Note: FullContact isn't free, you can only apply for a trial or pay.
Pricing: https://www.fullcontact.com/developer/pricing/
Where did you get that action from? Was it from the LinkedIn Connector perhaps? If so, you might be lacking authentication. Check the documentation from available in the sample eSpace.

I have issued a credit memo in Magento Admin panel for an order, but I do not see how a customer can use this credit on the website? He cannot see it in the frontend either. How can this credit be managed by admin and/or by the customer?
Magento 1.8.0
When credit memo raised from admin, there is 2 option.
Online
Offline
If your integrated payment gateway support online, then that amount will credited into customer account.
If you integrated payment gateway doesn't support online, then Admin will go to Payment Gateway merchant account and manually transfer the fund to customer account.
Hope will help!

we run a Joomla Extensions store. We are looking to make it subscription based, so users can download multiple files instead of buying single files, as they do now.
But in that case, I want to restrict the number of domains the users install it on.
For example, lets say, one user as SILVER membership and that membership only allows 3 DOMAINS usage. Means, whenever he installs it on any site, the extension should not work , unless he enters the license code generated from our website. And once the 3 licenses are created by him , the next time he installs the extension somewhere, an automatic email should come to me that an unauthorized usage was done, and the extension should not work at all.
Whereever activated, it should show, PLEASE ENTER LICENSE CODE.
So, how do we handle this ?
Yes you shall use any encryption and and while the component runs it should compare the license key on the fly.
the license key will be given from your end and the key can be compared with same logic implemented with the key generation
Seller side:
Generate a encyption Key (logic : their email id with userid or domain name they have purchased any feasible idea)
give this to the customer
Customer (Component)
get the email id with user id or any logic used and generate encryption and compare on the fly
here we are not storing any key so it will be safer and the code is not encryptped and genuine buyers will care care for the license key and purchase.
as long as you keep the logic safer it will work ;)
it will not violate the JED rules

PayPal mentions, by using PayPal Website Payments Standard (WPS), when your customers check out, they will be directed to a page that allows them to log into their PayPal account OR pay by credit card without having to sign up for a PayPal account.
However, my shoping cart integrated with WPS has no place for customer entering credit card info?
It always want customer to sign-in or create a new account for payment.
(PayPal Website Payments Standard is supposed to allows users the choice of signing in or not signing in.)
What goes wrong? Am I missing any things?
Background:
Paypal account: Paypal Australia (Preimer)
Shoping cart: Magento. It has preconfigured Paypal payment method. I use WPS for check out payment method.

Since you're already using Magento, why not use Express Checkout? It's free as well, and a lot more secure. Just get your API credentials through Profile > My selling tools > API Access > Update > Request API credentials > Request API Signature and enter them in your Magento backend.
Check whether "PayPal account optional" is switched on in your PayPal account. PayPal > Profile > My selling tools > Website Payment Preferences > Update.
