I have deployed portfolio app recently. Now, I want to update my app through different machine(linux mint 14).So, to update my app, definitely I need to install heroku toolbelt on my machine, latter on I can go forward with remaining things. Right?.
But, here my problem is "I can't install heroku toolbelt on my machine".
While installing process it is showing up the following error
wget -qO- https://toolbelt.heroku.com/install-ubuntu.sh | sh
This script requires superuser access to install apt packages.
You will be prompted for your password by sudo.

So, After that
I have followed the Google search, stack overflow search to resolve the problem.I am trying to install it through some other process which is identified through stack overflow, but still it is not solved my problem and it is showing up error with libnss3 dependencies as
libnss3-1d : Depends: libnss3 (= 3.13.1.with.ckbi.1.88-1ubuntu7) but 3.14.3-0ubuntu0.12.10.1 is installed
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.
E: Unable to correct dependencies
I have replaced this libnss3.13.1.with.ckbi.1.88-1ubuntu7 with libnss3.14.3-0ubuntu0.12.10.1 in order to support Google-chrome browser.
But it is not supported for Heroku. If i will install the previous versioned libnss3 then i should remove google-chrome.I need google chrome because it provides best developer tool support for debugging and profiling the app.
Please help me to resolve this installing heroku-toolbelt problem.
Thanks.
Try
wget -qO- https://toolbelt.heroku.com/install.sh | sh
And then add the Heroku CLI to your PATH using:
echo 'PATH="/usr/local/heroku/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.profile
I think the error "/usr/bin/env: ruby: No such file or directory" means you need to install Ruby.
I am working my way through a video tutorial at http://gettingstartedwithdjango.com/en/lessons/introduction-and-launch/
I am working on win7 and using git-bash for my terminal. I have installed the latest virtualbox - 4.2.12 and the latest vagrant - 1.22. I have chef 11.4.4 installed
In the forums for this tutorial I came across a modified vagrantFile at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1343706/gswd-vagrantfile. I replaced the original vagrant file with this.
I tried to run vagrant up and got:

Chef never successfully completed! Any errors should be visible in the
output above. Please fix your recipes so that they properly complete.
Could someone advise me what to do next to fix this?
The warning about the missing gem is irrelevant in this case - the actual issue is lower down in the logs:
42>> if Resource.const_defined?(class_name, false)
...
[2013-06-16T21:02:25+00:00] FATAL: ArgumentError: wrong number of arguments (2 for 1)
Comparing the Ruby 1.8 and 1.9 docs we can see that an additional parameter was added to the Module#const_defined? method in 1.9.
It would appear that your Chef installation is using Ruby 1.8 or below hence the error.
The easiest way to make sure Chef is running on a modern version of Ruby is to use the omnibus installer - the vagrant-omnibus plugin looks like it might solve your problem.
The issue is that vagrant virtual image has the ruby 1.8 version installed. (check it by running vagrant ssh; ruby -v). You will need to update it to 1.9.x, because the number of parameters of Resource.const_defined function has changed.
The following actions worked for me:
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update #this will clean and update the ap-get repositories
sudo apt-get install ruby1.9.3 # installs ruby (you can change the version as you see fit)
Then add:
config.vm.provision :shell, :inline => "sudo aptitude -y install build-essential"
after the # Upgrade Chef automatically
This will install the build-essential package which will install make.
I'm running Debian Wheezy with kernel 2.6.32-028stab101.1.
I just installed Ruby and RVM. The current installed version is
ruby 1.9.3p194 (2012-04-20 revision 35410) [x86_64-linux],
however, I need version 1.8.7-p371 for my current code.
I tried running rvm install ruby-1.8.7-p371, but only get the following output:
Searching for binary rubies, this might take some time.
No binary rubies available for: debian/7.0/x86_64/ruby-1.8.7-p371.
Continuing with compilation. Please read 'rvm mount' to get more information on binary rubies.
Installing requirements for debian, might require sudo password.

I tried installing readline, running rvm mount, inserted
[[ -s "$HOME/.rvm/scripts/rvm" ]] && . "$HOME/.rvm/scripts/rvm"
in my .zshrc, but nothing worked.
Any ideas what I'm missing?
The problem lies within your apt hostlist, not within RVM.
Remove the broken host from your /etc/apt/sources.list file and you should be fine :)
whats rvm -v say?
run rvm get stable to get the most current stable release
from there try just simply rvm install 1.8.7
after it installs you can run rvm default 1.8.7 to set it as the default ruby
I am attempting to install the Cloud Foundry VCAP as a single node on an Ubutnu 10.04.4 VM using the instructions provided here. I am logged in as a root.
I complete the Common tasks without problem, but when I get to attempting Option 2 under Single Node Deployment, where I execute the script bin/vcap_dev_setup I do not get the expected results. First, it does not promt me for the sudo password (perhaps since I am logged in as root?) and then it seems to run fine until it gets to a file it tries to download but can't...
root#cloudlg187220:~/cloudfoundry/vcap/dev_setup/bin# ./vcap_dev_setup

Every reference to this error I find online has no answer. Does anyone have an idea or suggestion? Thanks for any help you can offer.
