Visual Studio 2010 modeling project error - visual-studio-2010

I have serious problem with my modeling project, created in Visual Studio 2010. Today I was renaming my project and solution name and path's. And now it throws me some kind of error, when I wish to open any diagram. And then i role everything back to the first settings, but still the same.
Error:
Cannot load
'C:\Users\Klemen\Trgovina\Knjiznica\UMLUseCaseDiagram1.
usecasediagram': You must open this UML diagram inside the Visual
Studio modeling project that was used to create it.
Does anyone know, how to make my project work again?
Thanks

Do you have any Add-On/Plugin ? I had a conflicting add-on and after removing it, it is working again.

Visual Studio - An exception was encountered while constructing the content of this frame

I am trying to open a solution on VIsual Studio 2017. (The project was originally developped in VS 2012). I managed to open the project and to work on it before. But this morning I get :
An exception was encountered while constructing the content of this frame. This information is also logged in "C:\Users\myName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\15.0_fa6f4449\ActivityLog.xml
The project loads in VS, but it does not recognized the Entity Framework Models correctly. Any idea on what is happening?
For further reference (maybe it'll help someone in the future), I have solved this error by updating Visual Studio. It was apparently an IDE bug. (More info here)

Can't open a TFS build process template with Community Build Extensions in VS2012 using the dummy-project-with-refrences trick

I'm trying to open a TFS Build Process Template (DefaultTemplate.11.1.xaml) file, incorporating an activity from Community TFS Build Extensions. I'm following instractions from here, section Get the custom activities into Visual Studio. I had no problems with that back in the RC version of Visual Studio 2012 but now, after upgrading to the release version, an attempt to open the file ends up in an error:
System.Xaml.XamlException: 'The type ‘InArgument(mtbwa:BuildSettings)’ of property ‘BuildSettings’ could not be resolved.'
TFS itself doesn't seem to have any problems running builds based on this template.
I am able to open the file without the trick, but then of course the custom activities are not displayed properly.
Check this out:

"if the Visual Studio class library project you were using to manage the process template editing was targeting .NET 4.5, it needed to be 4.0. Well with Visual Studio 2012 RTM this is no longer the case, in fact it is the other way around."
I don't really think this is a great answer but I don't have enough rep to comment...
Build action on the xaml file is set to None?
I had a similar issue when opening build templates in VS 2012 RTM, but I was able to open the xaml "a little," meaning that I could open it in the workflow designer, but a lot of it was just the error activity. I found some errors to the effect that I should add references which I had not needed before (neither in VS 2010 or VS 11), such as PresentationCore and PresentationFramework. I wish I remembered more detail to pass on to you on this point.

What's the reason for error message? I am using VS 2010 professional edition

What's the reason for error message "The snapshot is out of date and cannot be used anymore because type tree has been updated, A new snapshow needs to be acquired"?
This error appeared right after I launched VS2010 and added username/pwd to connect to TFS repository.
I am using VS 2010 professional edition.
It happened to me with VS2012 as well after loading the project without source control binding, a local simple WinForms project. All I needed to do was Clean & Rebuild. After that the problem was solved.
This is a bug in Visual Studio. According to http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/742959/the-snapshot-is-out-of-date "We've taken a closer look at this problem and it isn't one that we'll be able to solve in the next release of Visual Studio."
They recommend waiting around until the background language parser service is done (or, in other words, don't try to be too productive there partner.) My experience is that closing all documents, cleaning the solution, rebuilding it and then closing and re-opening with a pause after does remove the error.
Until you do something silly, like edit code. Then all bets are off again as to when it reoccurs.
I had a similar issue with VS2012 and after rebuilding the solution twice, I still saw the same error message.
Following an advice from a post from this site, I closed the Designer tab, reopened it from the Solution Explorer, and the problem was resolved.
I got this error too, but after I unload project and reload project, the problem was resolved.
Simply restarting Visual Studio 2012 was a workaround for me, but it kept happening about every hour and having to restart visual studio that often was very annoying.
I also found this post which suggests that the Productivity Power Tools are the problem and to simply turn off the Automatic Brace Completion in Tools->Options->Productivity Power Tools. Since making this change I haven't seen the error message again :)
I'll note though that I am using Visual Studio 2012 and the OP is using Visual Studio 2010, but the Productivity Power Tools are available for VS 2010 too, so this may still fix the problem in VS 2010.
The same issue persists in VS2013, but no amount of Clean/Rebuild or restarting VS will help. The only way I can do a successful publish, is to disable the AutoT4MVC extension.
I got this error too. I closed Visual Studio 2012 and opened it again and the error was gone.
I got this error when I had conflicting class names / namespaces. I was referencing a UserControl from a different DLL in my XAML file which had the same name as my XAML file (class name). Maybe this helps.
I used Visual Studio 2012, and just faced this error on my Windows 8. It seems like Turning off the VM and restarting Visual Studio fixed the issue.
I just got this with VS2010.
I had a form with a user control (UCa) with a user control (UCa) from a different project on it. Made a change to the UCb then flicked to the designer for the form and boom! Snapshot error.
Resolved by a full clean and then rebuilding just the UCb project before building the rest of the project.
I'm using Visual Studio 2012, and I got this error when starting Visual Studio, letting TFS connect to the server, and THEN opening my solution. The fix was simply closing VS and launching the solution directly.
I'll throw my two cents in here as well.
I've tried every combination of Clean, Rebuild, Restart, etc. What I've found is that restarting Visual Studio usually makes the problem go away for at least one Publish. Here's the weird part, though. You can also fix the problem by doing absolutely nothing. If you just let Visual Studio sit for about a minute or two, and then publish, it will usually work just fine. There's some background voodoo going on here, and waiting for it to finish seems to do the trick.
I have a solution with two parts that need published. One is a WCF service application, and the other is the ASP.NET MVC5 website itself. Anytime I publish the services, and then try to publish the site I'll see this error. I can publish the services, restart VS, and then publish the site, OR I can publish the services, go get a drink, and then publish the site. As long as I give VS a chance to "settle" between any kind of rebuild and the publishing of the site, everything seems to work as expected.
Take a walk, come back, problem solved. OR if you don't have the time. Clean, Rebuild, Restart, Publish (lather, rinse, repeat).

Visual Studio : Language Service Error

I'm trying to compile a project I have in Visual Studio 2010. It has built fine on 2 other computers with Visual Studio, but on this computer, it will not compile, and returns:
"The property could not be read/written because the language service returned an unknown error"
Obviously, I have tried googling, and nothing of any use came up, so some help would be great.
Additional Information:
Project is an XNA 4.0 Project
Trying to deploy the solution to a Windows phone. The phone is plugged in, unlocked, etc. and other projects will deploy successfully to it.
I've run into the exact same error message when I tried editing the AssemblyInfo.cs using VS 2010's Assembly Information dialog from within the project properties (open Properties -> Application from below the given project).
As this thread suggests, I deleted the AssemblyInfo.cs file and filled in the values I wanted in the dialog box which created a new and working AssemblyInfo.cs. Maybe this would help/would have helped in your scenario as well.
Note, that you'll get a fresh and valid GUID if you simply click save after opening the dialog.
I encountered this today in VS 2017. It went away as soon as I performed a build which fetched all my references.

Visual Studio 2010 Cannot Resolve Moniker 877c

I created a few sequence diagrams in VS 2010 and when I try to open them in design view I get the following error:
Cannot resolve moniker '8cc714d1-d71f-4f0f-a3b5-a34b74dfb852'
I searched the Sequence Diagram XML and could not find this GUID. How do I resolve this error so I can open my diagram?
It says that there are some references which layout file cannot resolve.
For this you just need to delete .dbml.layout file.
And then just double click on .dbml file.
Just received this error in VS 2015, along with a few other very strange ones. Everything I tried, including reverting the file, had no effect. I restarted Visual Studio, did another Build, and the errors were gone.
