add background image and push it to the back scene - image

A simple question. I have already finished my app with full functionality and I now need to add background images to make it look nicer. However, if I simply add on top of each view an image view, the image appears in the foreground, covering the buttons/textfields etc. How do I get round this?
Also, one of the views of my app is a scroll view. Should this be treated differently concerning background images?

Best way to represent list with image(using url) in Xamarin.Forms?

I want to create List View. In this List View, I will have following fields.
StackPanel
1- Image with 300 x 400 size
2- Text-Label Controls
1 Screen will hardly cover 1 and Half ViewCell.
Images will have ImageURL. I want to load image smoothly. I also want to make smooth scroll up/down with image appearing.
Can anybody please suggest me which control I should use?
If List View, which CacheStrategy I should use?
Note: For one of such functionality, I had used List View with default CacheStrategy. In that, I just faced 1 major problem of image appearing. When page initialize first time, it show image properly. But as soon as I scroll down or scroll up, image disappear or misplace. In that case, I had suffered a lot and removed image finally.
Please suggest appropriate way for above functionality.

For the listview, you should definitely use RecycleElement as the CachingStrategy. See here https://developer.xamarin.com/api/type/Xamarin.Forms.ListViewCachingStrategy/#Remarks
And because the images are URLs, you can use FFImageLoading. It will fade-in the image after it is downloaded (as opposed to appearing instantly after downloaded), and you can even specify a placeholder image to use while the image is being downloaded.

Xamarin.Forms. Is there any way to split the Screen into 2 different pages (CarouselPage & Page)

Hello I am trying to get a Page in Xamarin.Forms with a swappable "boxView" in the middle. Pretty much the same that the carouselPage does, but not in the whole screen but just a small rectangle inside my main Page.
Is that possible??
Not out of the box I'd say since it is a Carousel*Page*. Said that you can still implement it by yourself (using a Custom Renderer, View, etc.).

Resizing WebView with window

I have a NSView that houses about a dozen WebViews populated with HTML generated from the application. When I first init them, I wait for - (void)webView:didFinishLoadForFrame: to fire before laying them out and adding them to the view based on the documentView frame.
How would I go about resizing these WebViews along with the window? Is there a way to get the desired size of the WebView for a given width?
Since all you're using the web views for is rendering MarkDown, you should instead investigate MacDown or MarkdownLive. These render MarkDown directly into an NSTextView. This will be MUCH more efficient than multiple WebView objects.
In future, you should ensure that your question includes what you're actually trying to achieve because there's often a simpler way to do what you want than the way you think it perhaps should be achieved.

UI Like Youtube in Android (Tablet)

I've spent 2 hours looking for a solution. I need to make a design
like the Youtube UI (Tablet UI) where it shows a vertical scroll, but
in each row there are 4 videos (landscape view). I've tried to do
something similar, but i couldn't =(
Is there any place where i can get the source code of the youtube
application for Tablet? Or maybe some resource to solve this? :(
BTW, my try was designing UI with scrollView, LinearLayout and my_item.xml, i tried to inflate my_item.xml adding programmatically into the linearlayout (horizontal orientation), but it doesn't work in the way that i want. I need something like a linearlayout but with horizontal and vertical orientation at the same time (something like a div).
I was thinking to use a ListView and a custom adapter (with my_item.xml), but i'm not sure if this can be the best solution.

You should create seperate resources for each layout.
For example if the user is in Portrait mode you would have the correct layout in.
layout-port: layout for portrait orientation
layout-land: layout for landscape orientation

Also i would recommend to read more on Handling runtime changes
This will help you with recognizing when the user changes orientation. You could actually use this guide and when the user flips the devices orientation you could then change the layout. Keep in mind hard coding this can be dangerous though. I would recommend using the layout folders.

Finally i solve my problem.
It works with a linearLayout(vertical) and adding linearlayout(horizontal) for each row. And obviously managing my scrollview.
BTW, i still think android should have a layout like a "div".

Touch to move through images

I have an NSMutableArray of jpg images and I want to be able to touch and, moving my finger from right to left, move through the array of images in order. I've been reading about UIScrollView, but I'm not sure if this accomplishes what I am looking for. It seems to me that UIScrollView is more used for viewing an object that is too large to be displayed entirely on the screen and you need to be able to move to see every part of the object. I need to move to an entirely new image, the next image in my array. What is the best way to go about this?
You certainly can use a UIScrollView for what you want. A scroll view can be used, as you noted, to scroll an area that is too large for the screen. However, you can also use it to scroll through "pages". This is really the best way to do what you want, short of rolling your won scroll view.
There is a property of UIScrollView, called pagingEnabled, which you'll want to set to YES. I suggest that you give it a try. Also, have a look at the UIScrollView documentation and the Scroll View programming guide. It will tell you all that you need to know about UIScrollViews. Also, remember that for proper memory management, you'll want to only load three images at any given time. See this answer that I wrote for more information on that, and on UIScrollViews in general.
