Can i remove bottom scroller on overflow:scroll? - scroll

So i have a popup window with a scroller. For scroller i used basic css element overflow: scroll. But the problem is scroller appears on the side and on the bottom. Now i want to know if there is anyway to remove the bottom scroller, because even though its locked its useless to me and it would look better without it. Ive googled it and havent found anything so if you have a solution please share it. If you need any of the code tell me and i will post it.
This is "my" css for popup (i got the code from http://www.zurb.com/playground/reveal-modal-plugin):
.reveal-modal-bg {
position: fixed;
height: 100%;
width: 100%;
background: #000;
background: rgba(0,0,0,.8);
z-index: 100;
display: none;
top: 0;
left: 0;
}
.reveal-modal {
visibility: hidden;
top: 100px;
left: 50%;
margin-left: -300px;
width: 520px;
height: 400px;
background: #eee url(modal-gloss.png) no-repeat -200px -80px;
position: absolute;
z-index: 101;
padding: 30px 40px 34px;
-moz-border-radius: 5px;
-webkit-border-radius: 5px;
border-radius: 5px;
-moz-box-shadow: 0 0 10px rgba(0,0,0,.4);
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 10px rgba(0,0,0,.4);
-box-shadow: 0 0 10px rgba(0,0,0,.4);
overflow:scroll;
}
.reveal-modal h1{
color: green;
font-size: 40px;
}
.reveal-modal strong{
font-style: inherit;
}
.reveal-modal.small { width: 200px; margin-left: -140px;}
.reveal-modal.medium { width: 400px; margin-left: -240px;}
.reveal-modal.large { width: 600px; margin-left: -340px;}
.reveal-modal.xlarge { width: 800px; margin-left: -440px;}
.reveal-modal .close-reveal-modal {
font-size: 22px;
line-height: .5;
position: absolute;
top: 8px;
right: 11px;
color: #aaa;
text-shadow: 0 -1px 1px rbga(0,0,0,.6);
font-weight: bold;
cursor: pointer;
}

a better way of doing it would be
overflow-x:hidden;
overflow-y:auto;
That way it means that if a page gets bigger with jquery and then you need to scroll the view won't get smaller and affect your measurements

This should work:
overflow-x:hidden;
overflow-y:auto;

Problem with responsiveness - Text in Hero-image

I Need Help.
I want to create a hero-image, but I'm having trouble positioning the text.
I want it to look like this:
enter image description here
When I do it my way, then I have a problem with RWD positioning later.
Maybe it is possible to do it somehow simpler?
<header>
<div class="hero-img">
<div class="hero-shadow"></div>
<div class="hero-text">
<h1>Zięba</h1>
<p>gallery</p>
</div>
<i class="fas fa-chevron-down"></i>
</header>
header {
.hero-img {
position: relative;
height: 100vh;
width: 100vw;
background-image: url('../img/Kapiaca-sie-small.jpg');
background-position: center;
background-size: cover;
background-attachment: fixed;
z-index: -2;
overflow: hidden;
.fa-chevron-down {
position: absolute;
left: 50%;
transform: translateX(-50%);
top: 95%;
color: $white-color;
font-size: 35px;
}
}
.hero-text {
position: absolute;
transform: translate(1430px, -50px);
height: 100%;
z-index: 5;
h1 {
color: $black-color;
font-size: 30rem;
font-family: 'Disclaimer', sans-serif;
}
h1::before {
content: 'Sławomir';
position: absolute;
display: inline-block;
transform: rotate(270deg);
top: 312px;
right: 180px;
font-size: 5rem;
font-family: 'Roboto', sans-serif;
color: $green-color;
}
p { position: absolute;
top: 540px;
right: 10px;
text-transform: uppercase;
color: $brown-color;
font-size: 1.6rem;
}
}
I am sending link to CodePen:https://codepen.io/Ewelaa/pen/MWoVwvY
header .hero-text {
position: absolute;
right:40px;
height: 100%;
z-index: 5;
}
Just use Right Property to fix position.

Getting the checked value of a checkbox - Material Design

I have a page that uses a basic bootstrap based Admin BSB Material Design layout
I am having difficulty getting a value from the checkboxes in this design.
Example checkbox that is 'checked':
I am seeing cypress having no luck finding the checkbox control even if i add a data-cypress="mycheckbx" attribute.
So my questions is: how do I obtain the 'checked' property in this scenario?
Styles Used:
[type="checkbox"].filled-in:not(:checked)+label:before {
width: 0;
height: 0;
border: 3px solid transparent;
left: 6px;
top: 10px;
-webkit-transform: rotateZ(37deg);
transform: rotateZ(37deg);
-webkit-transform-origin: 20% 40%;
transform-origin: 100% 100%
}
[type="checkbox"].filled-in:not(:checked)+label:after {
height: 20px;
width: 20px;
background-color: transparent;
border: 2px solid #5a5a5a;
top: 0;
z-index: 0
}
[type="checkbox"].filled-in:checked+label:before {
top: 0;
left: 1px;
width: 8px;
height: 13px;
border-top: 2px solid transparent;
border-left: 2px solid transparent;
border-right: 2px solid #fff;
border-bottom: 2px solid #fff;
-webkit-transform: rotateZ(37deg);
transform: rotateZ(37deg);
-webkit-transform-origin: 100% 100%;
transform-origin: 100% 100%
}
[type="checkbox"].filled-in:checked+label:after {
top: 0;
width: 20px;
height: 20px;
border: 2px solid #26a69a;
background-color: #26a69a;
z-index: 0
}
Since none of the solutions above worked for me, I did this :
cy.get('#element').should('be.checked')
source : cypress documentation
The opposite (unchecked) assertion would be (see the official docs):
cy.get('#element').should('not.be.checked')
It seems all I needed to do was:
cy.get('#pract-haspen').should('have.attr', 'checked')
and that Assertion worked!
Thanks
This answers ask the question with an assert test in mind.
If you want to get the value and use it somewhere, you can simply:
cy.get('#elementQuery').then(elem => {
var value = elem.val()
...do anything you want, like if(value == 'on')...
})
If attr doesn't work for you, try prop:
cy.get('#pract-haspen').should('have.prop', 'checked')

Google Drive API: Invalid Images being downloaded

I''ve written an app in lua using the Corona SDK, I'm trying to download some images from a google drive folder.
I've used the OAth playground to authroize the scopes I need and I've obtained a refresh token and have a method to obtain a new access token when necessary. This is how I download the images:
network.download(
"https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id="..decodedResponse.files[index].id,
"GET",
networkListener,
params,
decodedResponse.files[index].name,
system.DocumentsDirectory
)
where decodedResponse refers to the json obtained that lists all the files in the specified folder. This was working fine a few days ago but now whenever I try it, the image downloaded is invalid and corrupt. I even tried using a new folder in the drive.
I've tried other links such like
https://www.googleapis.com/drive/v3/files/FILE_ID_HERE?alt=media
and some others I've seen online but these give me a
code 403
"Daily Limit for Unauthenticated Use Exceeded. Continued use requires signup."
error. I read somewhere that specifying scope could fix the code 403 error but I'm not sure where exactly to specify this.
I'd appreciate the help, thanks!
Edit: I took a look at one of the images with a text editor, the result was some html that look to be code for a google auth page, some of it is below:
<!DOCTYPE html>

I can't post the entire thing cause it exceeds the body character limit
I was able to get it to work by using a different url and adding this:
local params = {}
params.progress = true
params.headers = headers
This was the URL I used:
https://www.googleapis.com/drive/v3/files/FILE_ID_HERE?alt=media

Change submenu's position

I'd like to change my sub-menu from horizontal to vertical, please let me know how this is possible...
My li is:
position: relative;
text-align: center;
display: table-cell;
and ul is:
position: absolute;
top: 95%;
left: 0;
z-index: 1000;
display: none;
float: left;
min-width: 160px;
padding: 5px 0;
margin: 2px 0 0;
list-style: none;
Try changing:
display: table-cell;
to
display: block
This should do it. Make sure you clear your Joomla and browser cache once you do this.

Alternate to background-size property to use in IE8

I have to resize the buttons on the screen initial size of button 157*70px and required size on screen is 100*50px. It has to be compatible with IE8 where the background-size property is not working although this property works fine in FF.
HTML:
<div id="return_button">
<a class="new_return_button" name="PREVIOUS">Previous</a>
</div>
CSS:(Firfox)
.new_return_button{
background: url("images/previous.png") no-repeat scroll 0 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);
backgound-size: 100px 50px;
color: #FFFFFF;
cursor: pointer;
display: block;
height: 70px;
line-height: 70px;
width: 157px;
}
#return_button{
color: #FFFFFF;
font-weight: bold;
height: 70px;
left: 10px;
line-height: 70px;
margin: 0;
position: absolute;
text-align: center;
width: 157px;
}
This css works fine in Firefox with background-size property and shrinks the image of 157*70px to area of 100*50px but doesn't work in IE8.
Please suggest a solution to this issue
One way to solve this is to use another element. You probably need to tweak the margins of the <span> to have it working as desired. Also note that this does not guarantee a specific height, instead it will give you the correct aspect ratio for the scaled graphic.
<style>
#return_button {
position: relative;
width: 100px;
}
#return_button img {
max-width: 100%;
height: auto;
}
#return_button span {
position: absolute;
top: 50%;
margin-top: -5px;
left: 10px;
right: 10px;
text-align: center;
}
</style>
<div id="return_button">
<img src="images/previous.png" alt="Button graphic">
<span>Button label</span>
</div>
