Persisting the default value of the numeric text after deleting entered value - kendo-ui

Have a look at the sample here.
The problem I have is that I need to have 0.00 value remain in the numerictextbox even though the value is deleted in the control. At the moment it appears as empty on the UI. Can anyone advise the cleanest solutions for problem?

You can achieve your goal wiring the change event of the widget and modify its value and the model's one when it is triggered.
<div id="view">
<div data-template="containertpl" data-bind="source: People"></div>
<button data-bind="click: AddNew">Add</button>
</div>
<script id="containertpl" type="text/x-kendo-template">
<div>
<label for="FirstName#:id#">Name</label>
<input name="FirstName#:id#" type="text" data-bind="value: FirstName"/>
<input data-role="numerictextbox" data-bind="value: Income, events: { change: numericChange }"/>
</div>
</script>
var viewModel = kendo.observable({
People: [
{id: 1, FirstName: "", Income: "0.00" },
{id: 2, FirstName: "", Income: "0.00" },
{id: 3, FirstName: "", Income: "0.00" }
],
numericChange: function(args) {
var numeric = args.sender;
if (numeric.value() === null) {
numeric.value(0);
args.data.set("Income", 0);
}
}
});
viewModel.AddNew = function(){
viewModel.People.push({id: viewModel.People.length + 1, FirstName: "Generated", Income: "0.00"});
};
$(document).ready(function(){
kendo.bind($("#view"), viewModel);
});

}
]
}
}
is assigned to this.tesTourist = this.objectValue.INCOME.TOURIST;
component.html
<form [formGroup]="accountsForm" autocomplete="off">
<div class="row">
<div *ngFor="let obj of tesTourist">
<div *ngFor="let item of obj.details">
<label class="text-left"> {{obj.vehicleNumber}} :</label>
<input type="text" formControlname="incomeTourist" value="{{item.amount}}">
</div>
</div>
</div>
</form>
component.ts
this.accountsForm = this.fb.group({
incomeTourist:[],
});
Let as take obj.details.length is 2. It displays 2 input box in page with the value amount binded(item.amount). While changing the amount in any one of the input field that could not bind the amount in incomeTourist. It constantly shows null as below.
Result of <pre><code>{{accountsForm?.value | json}}</code></pre>
{
"incomeTourist": null
}
You form structure should be like below.
this.accountsForm = this.fb.group({
testTourist: this.fb.array([]),
});
After that create 2 method to create testTourist and incomeTourist form array.
createTestTourist() {
return this.formBuilder.group({
details: this.fb.array([])
});
}
createDetails() {
return this.formBuilder.group({
amount: [],
vehicleNumber: []
});
}
And after that loop over the testTourist object in ngOnInt method.
this.testTourists.forEach(testTourist => {
const fb = this.createTestTourist();
testTourist.details.forEach((detail, i) => {
const cfb = this.createDetails();
cfb.get('amount').setValue(detail.amount);
cfb.get('vehicleNumber').setValue(detail.vehicleNumber);
(fb.controls.details as FormArray).push(cfb);
});
(this.accountsForm.get('testTourist') as FormArray).push(fb);
});
after this in html you should write below code.
<form [formGroup]="accountsForm" autocomplete="off">
<div class="row">
<div *ngFor="let obj of testTourists; let i= index" formArrayName="testTourist">
<ng-container [formGroupName]="i">
<div *ngFor="let item of obj.details; let j= index" formArrayName="details">
<ng-container [formGroupName]="j">
<label class="text-left"> {{item.vehicleNumber}} :</label>
<input type="text" formControlName="amount">
</ng-container>
</div>
</ng-container>
</div>
</div>
</form>
After this if you do any changes it will reflect in form object. You can console the form object.
console.log(this.accountsForm.value)
you will get expect same object structure as you are providing. And you will get updated values.

Simple Kendo DropDownList binding in window

I have a form with a DropDownList inside a Kendo window and I want to bind existing data to it. Examples for this abound and I've done it in other situations before, but this one (which seems like it should be really easy) is escaping me because I can't seem for the life of me to get the DropDownList to show the correct value. I figure I must be missing something really simple, but I haven't done Kendo in over a year, and looking at my previous work isn't helping me either.
Extremely simplified code:
<button onclick="OnButtonClick();">Click Me</button>
<div id="form-window"></div>
<script type="text/x-kendo-template" id="form-template">
<div class="form-group">
<label for="Url">URL</label>
<input name="Url" type="text" value="#= Url #" required="required" />
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="HttpVerb">HTTP verb</label>
<input name="HttpVerb" data-bind="value:HttpVerb" data-source="httpVerbsDataSource" data-value-field="verb" data-text-field="verb" data-role="dropdownlist" />
</div>
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var formWindow = $("#form-window")
.kendoWindow({
title: "Form",
modal: true,
visible: false,
resizable: false,
scrollable: false,
width: 500,
actions: ["Close"],
open: function () {
kendo.init($("#form-window"));
}
}).data("kendoWindow");
var formTemplate = kendo.template($("#form-template").html());
var httpVerbsDataSource = new kendo.data.DataSource({
data: [
{ verb: "GET" },
{ verb: "POST" },
{ verb: "PUT" }
]
});
function OnButtonClick(e) {
var dataItem = {
Url: "abcdef",
HttpVerb: "POST"
};
var windowContent = formTemplate(dataItem);
formWindow.content(windowContent);
formWindow.center().open();
}
</script>
When I click the button, the window opens and the form text field is populated correctly, and the DropDownList has properly been bound to the data source, but the value in my data item is not selected.

Kendo UI Grid Detail Template in Declarative Initialization

I'm trying to bring about a grid with a detail template using declarative initialization. I would appreciate if someone tells me why the details template in the code below is not working. Here's the fiddle I use: http://jsfiddle.net/SiddharthSD2/5MU4r/76/
<div id="demo-grid" data-role="grid"
data-bind="source: people" data-columns='[
{"field": "name",
"title": "Full Name"
},
{"field":"phone", "title":"Phone"}]'
data-details-template="detail-template"
></div>
<script id="detail-template" type="text/x-kendo-template">
<div>
<span>Phone Number for #=name#:</span>
<span data-bind="text: phone" />
<input data-bind="value: phone" />
</div>
</script>
JavaScript
var ds = new kendo.data.DataSource({
data: [
{name: "Joe", phone: "212-555-1234"},
{name: "Sally", phone: "212-999-7785"},
{name: "Bill", phone: "212-244-7035"}
]
});
// Create an observable object.
var vm = kendo.observable({
people: ds,
});
kendo.bind($("#demo-grid"),vm);
It is not data-details-template="detail-template" but data-detail-template="detail-template" (singular detail).

How to call the repaint() method?

Need a code example of repaint() method for dxList widget in Phonejs
NB: I want to call repaint() after a user action such as click.
Use the "repaint" method in the following manner:
<!--TRIGGER-->
<div data-bind="dxButton: { text: 'repaint dxList', clickAction: onClick }"></div>
<!--TARGET LIST-->
<div id="targetList" data-bind="dxList: { width: 100, dataSource: [{ key: 1, title: 'element_1'}, { key: 2, title: 'element_2' }, { key: 3, title: 'element_3' }] }">
<div data-bind="dxAction: '#itemDetailsViewName/{key}'" data-options="dxTemplate : { name: 'item' } ">
<div data-bind="text: title"></div>
</div>
</div>
onClick: function () {
var list = $("#targetList").dxList("instance");
list.option('width', 200);
list.repaint();
}

Ajax submit after validation (jQuery Mobile + Validator)

I'm having trouble getting this to work. It validates the fields as expected, but no matter what I try, I can't properly hook the submit.
Here's my form:
<form action="" id="m-frm-contact_us" class="m-contact_submit" method="post" data-ajax="false">
<input type="text" name="firstName" placeholder="FIRST NAME" title="" id="first" class="contact full required" minlength="2" maxlength="36" />
<input type="text" name="lastName" placeholder="LAST NAME" id="last" class="contact full required" minlength="2" maxlength="36" />
<input type="email" name="mail" placeholder="E-MAIL ADDRESS" id="mail" class="contact full required email" />
<button type="submit" name="submit_contact" value="clicked">Submit</button>
</form>
My JS:
$(document).ready(function(){
$.validator.addMethod(
'placeholder', function(value, element) {
return value != $(element).attr("placeholder");
}, 'This field is required.'
);
$("#m-frm-contact_us").validate({
rules: {
firstName: {
required: true,
minlength: 5,
placeholder: true
},
lastName: {
required: true,
minLength: 5,
placeholder: true
},
mail: {
required: true,
email: true,
placeholder: true
}
},
messages: {
firstName: "First name is required.",
lastName: "Last name is required.",
email: "Valid email address is required."
},
submitHandler: function(form) {
console.log('submitHandler fired.');
contact.submit();
return false;
}
});
$('#m-frm-contact_us').submit(function(e){
console.log('Submit event fired.');
e.preventDefault();
return false;
});
var contact = {
submit : function(){
console.log('Form is being submitted.');
}
};
});
The only thing I get in my console is 'Submit event fired.', called on form submit. Despite my efforts, the form always tries to post to itself, reloading the page.
I want to execute this code on submit:
var contact = {
submit : function(){
console.log('Form is being submitted.');
var _this = this,
post = $.post("/path/to/submit.php", $("#m-frm-contact_us").serialize(), function(response){
try{
if(response==1) {
_this.passed();
} else {
_this.error();
}
}
catch(e){
if(typeof e == 'string') console.log(e);
_this.error();
}
});
},
error : function(){ $.mobile.changePage("#error"); },
passed : function(){ $.mobile.changePage("#passed"); }
}
What am I missing?
I rebuilt the JS, and was able to get this working. Here's the code, in case anyone experiences a similar issue:
Form:
<form action="" method="post" id="m-frm-contact_us" novalidate="novalidate">
<input type="text" name="firstName" placeholder="FIRST NAME" title="" id="first" class="contact full required placeholder noSpecial" minlength="2" maxlength="36">
<input type="text" name="lastName" placeholder="LAST NAME" id="last" class="contact full required placeholder" minlength="2" maxlength="36">
<input type="email" name="mail" placeholder="E-MAIL ADDRESS" id="mail" class="contact full required email">
<button type="submit" name="submit_contact" value="clicked">Submit</button>
</form>
JS:
$.validator.addMethod('noPlaceholder', function(value, element) {
return value !== element.defaultValue;
}, 'This field is required.');
$.validator.addMethod(
'placeholder', function(value, element) {
return value != $(element).attr("placeholder");
}, 'This field is required.'
);
$.validator.addMethod("regex", function(value, element, regexp) {
var check = false;
var re = new RegExp(regexp);
return this.optional(element) || re.test(value);
}, "No special Characters allowed here. Use only upper and lowercase letters (A through Z; a through z)");
$('#m-frm-contact_us').submit(function(event) {
event.preventDefault();
if($(this).validate({
rules : {
first_name : {
required : true,
maxlength : 36,
regex : /^[A-Za-z\s`'"\\-]+$/
},
last_name : {
required : true,
maxlength : 36,
regex : /^[A-Za-z\s`'"\\-]+$/
}
}
}).form()) {
var $form = $(this), formData = {
firstName : $form.find('#first').val(),
lastName : $form.find('#last').val(),
mail : $form.find('#mail').val()
};
$.post('/path/to/submit.php', formData, function(response) {
if(response == 1) {
$.mobile.changePage("#passed");
} else {
$.mobile.changePage("#error");
}
})
};
return false;
})
