How can I add SDK 6.1 on livecode 5.5.3? - xcode

I need to add SDK 6.1 with my current version on Livecode 5.5.3. I've tried adding it in preferences-> Mobile Support but it will just say "the chosen folder is not a valid IOS SDK". Are these version of livecode and xcode compatible? I can add xcode 4.5.2 but can't add xcode 4.6.2.

I had no problems adding Xcode 4.6.2 to LiveCode 5.5.4 so maybe you need to upgrade your LiveCode.
Note: if you want to submit to the app store you need to upgrade to 5.5.5

Xamarin.iOS Target iOS 6 SDK

We have upgraded to XCode 5 and Xamarin.iOS 7.x, but have one app we are not quite ready to support iOS 7 for yet.
Is there a way to target the iOS 6.0 SDK, and compile the app so that it has the old iOS 6 keyboard, etc.?
We tried changing the settings in iOS Build->SDK Version, and we can change it when targeting the simulator, but the option doesn't exist for AhHoc or AppStore builds.
Any ideas?
Xcode ships with several simulator SDK but only one device SDK. So you need to install an older version of Xcode. E.g. installing Xcode 4.6 will give you the 6.1 SDK).
Both versions can coexists side-by-side if you rename the existing one before installing the 2nd.
Be sure to have XS points to the Xcode you want to use (it's not a project specific setting).

Creating a LiveCode IOS standalone application

I just started to use LiveCode and tried to create a standalone IOS app and get the following error:
"There was an error while saving the standalone application performing
iOS device builds requires the iOS 5.0 SDK platform to be installed"
We are using Xcode version 4.5.1 which includes the IOS 6 SDK along with LiveCode version 5.5.1 and thought that all needed SDK's would be installed when we installed Xcode.
We also don't know where to get the IOS 5.0 SDK and how to get it installed in Xcode so LiveCode can use it.
You only need iOS 5 SDK if you are deploying an armv6 or universal app. If you are deploying armv7 only then you won't get this error if you have iOS 6 or 6.1 SDKs. If you do that though your app won't support older armv6 devices from iPhone 3G back. When the standalone is built LiveCode needs the SDK that the engine was built against. This is why when a new SDK comes out LiveCode won't support it until its next release. If your using LiveCode it's worthwhile getting into the habit of retaining each version of Xcode.

How to add a "Base SDK" in XCode 4?

I currently use XCode 4.0 with Base SDK 4.3.
I would like to compile my app with an older SDK, for example 4.2, but I don't have this possibility as I have no other choice than SDK 4.3.
Do you know how to add older SDKs than the default Base SDK 4.3 proposed ?

You cannot do that. Xcode versions are released along with iOS SDK's. They are linked together i.e particular Xcode version can compile the code on the specific iOS SDK only (which it come with by default).
To compile your code in lower version of SDK, you need to download the lower version of Xcode
by changing the iosdeployment target you can run this.
for this,
go to the targets in the xcode and get the info .There you can find the second tab build.in that you have search field.type the ios deployment target.change that to 4.2.So that it can run on 4.2 also
In build settings, under Architechtures, you have something called as Base SDK .. you can change you base SDK there and set it to the latest ios version you have installed.

Mandatory to use XCode SDK 4?

Well you know they just released this new XCode 4 version thing...... I am still using version 3.x.x.

You can download iOS SDK 4.3 with either Xcode 4 or Xcode 3.2.6 from Apple's iOS developer page. Remember that the Xcode version number is not the SDK version number.
You should always use the latest SDK, even if you're targeting an older iOS version. As I understand it, Apple will sometimes fix bugs in older OS versions. In order to get those fixes, though, you need to use the latest SDK.
unless you don't want to try Git integration you should be fine :) I'm struck with xcode 3.2.5 and shortcuts. And I hate iTunes like toolbar for no reason :(

Base SDK missing after a fresh install of XCode 3.2.5 which includes iOS SDK 4.2

I'm new to iPhone development. I just did a fresh install of XCode 3.2.5 with iOS SDK 4.2. No previous XCode or iOS versions have been installed before. However trying to compile some sample project from some books gives "Base SDK Missing". :( What to do? How can I use XCode 3.2.5 for older iPhones like 3GS if it only supports 4.2?
When I go to "Project/Edit Project Settings/Architecture/Base SDK/iOS SDK's" only iOS 4.2 is available to be selected.
Do I need to install older XCode first and then upgrade?
In the build settings, you can support older phones by setting "iOS Deployment Target" to something like 3.0. http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/DeveloperTools/Conceptual/cross_development/Configuring/configuring.html has more details on the difference between this and the Base SDK setting.
Set Project/Edit Project Settings/Architecture/Base SDK to the Latest OS version, then quit and restart Xcode. You can later set the Deployment target to a lower OS version.
I had the same problem for most of the afternoon. I did everything suggested and nothing worked UNTIL I cleaned and cleaned and saved and rebooted and re-built. Unfortunately that doesn't tell me what actually worked, but it does give everyone "just one more thing" to try.
