PostgreSQL 9.2.4-x64 installation problems on windows 8 Pro 64bit - installation

I am trying to install PostgreSQL 9.2.4 on Windows 8 Pro 64, but nearly the end of the installation problem I am keep getting this error
"Problem running prop-install step. Installation may not complete
correctly The database cluster installation failed."
I tried to install it few times, with firewall turned off, I also deleted 'postgres' user that is created for PostgreSQL. But I am keep getting this message.
I also tried with older versions. 9.1, 9.0 but I am keep getting the same problems.
Any one with similar problem ?

Place in the folder on PostgreSQL security administrator permissions for the user of your machine and try to install again it will work

SCCM client error after Windows 10 upgrade

I've upgraded the Windows 10 to 1809 for test purposes and now the SCCM client has the problem that it needs a very long time until it starts and then aborts with the error:
Loading Software Center returned error code 0x80041001 (-2147217407).
Unfortunately I do not really find much under the error message, are there any solutions for that?
If I reset the Windows installation and then install the SCCM client everything works fine again ...
System information:
Version 1810
Console version: 5.1810.1075.2000
Site version: 5.0.8740.1000
Small addendum, after I did the following everything seems to work again:
SCCM Upgrade
SCCM client deinstallation
WMIRepair (Roger Zander)
Reinstall SCCM client

CouchDB 2.1.0 does not work with windows 10

I tried to install couchDB on windows 10.
now I know that there was a problem with couchDB and windows 10 creator update,
but the problem was supposed to be fixed in version 2.1.0 like they said in the apache issues https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COUCHDB-3395.
I searched everywhere and all the answers refer to CouchDB 2.0.0 with windows 10 creator update, but I tried it anyway.
switched the nssm to version 2.24
tried to run from the cmd
run it manually from the event viewer
even reinstall and restart the computer
but nothing worked.
I got this problem when Im trieng to run the couchDB manually from the services.
and when I go to the event viewer this is the error:
I'm really clueless!
Does anyone have an idea?

OBIEE installation

I was trying to install OBIEE 11g Oracle Business Intelligence, on windows 7, But when my installation reached the 13th step out of 14, any error appears indicating that coreapplication obis1 has failed !!
I followed this solution but still I can't start the weblogic server.
https://arunsadagopan.wordpress.com/2013/12/06/opmnctl-start-coreapplication_obis1-fails/
Any help would be appreciated?!?!
thanks.
Windows 7 isn't and wasn't ever a supported operating system since it's a desktop OS and not a server OS.
tl;dr: If you need an environment for learning and testing, get the SampleApp images whcih have everything you want + loads more:

Homestead not working after windows 10 latest update

Before updating windows 10 (november update) it all working perfectly using latest virtual box. after update everything is not working. I've tried reinstall the vagrant, virtual box no luck and i recheck the hosts file, it still the same where i left it before update.
All i getting when open using chrome is "Err connection reset".
Anyone having this problem ?
Check the Oracle VirtualBox log for the vagrant machine, it would seem there are various issues being experienced, mine was related to VirtualBox network connection on Windows.

After installing RHEL in Parallels on my Mac how do I log in?

I installed RHEL 6.4 server under Parallels 7 on my Mac OS 10.8 just now from an iso file I just downloaded from RedHat. The installation seemed to proceed ok, but at the end I'm left with a screen with a gray bar followed by the text "RedHat Enterprise Linux Server 6.4" with no obvious way how to login.
If I shut down the machine I see it running the shutdown scripts. If I boot it I see the boot scripts and they all look ok. But I always end up at that same screen with no way to login.
I can enter characters in the screen, but there is no Linux prompt at all.
Anybody know what to do next? I couldn't glean anything fro the RedHat install manual.
Thanks,
doug
I had the same problem. The issue is the X-win server will not start because Parallels tools breaks the framebuffer with the RHEL 6.4 update. This is especially easy to see because a fresh install works fine until you install Parallels tools.
When you see the "select system to boot" message, hit the key that allows you to edit the boot arguments. Add a "3" to the end to force the startup to runlevel 3 (which is a console login without the GUI).
After logging in, type the command "starts" and you will see that it fails. Once you are able to fix this problem, the normal bootup into the GUI login will also work.
I had to downgrade the video driver subsystem back to 6.3 for it to start working, and you also have to add an exclusion to yum to prevent it from updating and removing the fix. This will be necessary until Parallels releases an updated tools that addresses this issue. There is a procedure I found in the CentOS forums for how to do this, sorry I don't have the link.
