Can not see windows phone 7 emulator in visual studio 2012 - windows-phone-7

I can not see windows phone 7 emulator in visual studio 2012, I need to debug a wp7 project with visual studio 2012, but it seems that the windows phone 7 emulator doesn't attach on visual studio, anyone has ideas on it?

Did you install the Windows Phone SDK?
If yes, go to your project properties and make sure that the targeted output is the emulator.

You need to install the needed SDK for Visual Studio 2012.
Please find the link here
SDK 8.0 itself have the emulator for WP7 also.

Try reinstalling the SDK. I had simillar issue.

Windows universal app in VS2013

Is it possibility to create windows universal app for windows 10 in Visual Studio 2013? Should I install some kind of SDK, and after that everything will be ok or I have to use VS2015?
VS2013 won't work, you have to use VS2015.
You can run VS2015 on Windows 10, Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 to create Windows 10 apps.
Make sure to install the components for Windows Universal App Development during the installation of VS 2015. VS 2015 can be installed side by side with VS 2013.
More info can be found on MSDN
No need to have 2015. Not everyone is having this.
If you are using a different development environment than Visual Studio 2015, you can download a standalone Windows SDK for Windows 10 installer. Note that you don’t need to install this SDK if you’re using Visual Studio 2015 Update 3 – it's already included.

Install Windows Phone 7.1 SDK on Windows 8.1 RTM with Visual Studio 2013 RC

Does anyone know how to develop for Windows Phone 7, with Visual Studio 2013 (thus without installing Visual Studio 2010) on Windows 8.1 RTM?
I've checked the WP8.0 box when I was installing Visual Studio 2013, but it does not provide me the 7.1 SDK which is needed for my solution.
It would be great if I could do it without installing Visual Studio 2010. :D
Thank you in advance :-)
The Windows Phone 8.0 SDK include the ability to create apps for 7.1 and 8.0 so there should be no need to install the 7.1 SDK.
HOWEVER
Developing apps for 7.x is not supported in Visual Studio 2013.
If you must target 7.x devices you'll need to use VS2010 or VS2012.
If you want o build for Windows Phone 7.x you should use Visual Studio 2012. You can install this AND Visual Studio 2013 on the same machine. The only thing you may not end up being able to do is having a single solution with all projects in that you can use in both versions of VS.

Visual Studio Windows Emulator cannot run. give "The interface is unknown" error

Can any Windows Phone Application developer help?
When i run my project, emulator starts and shut down, and the error The interface is unknown is displayed in error log in Visual Studio.
It was running fine the other day.
What should i do to get rid of this error?
If you are using Visual Studio 2010, the window phone emulator for widow phone 7 series suites your PC. if you are experiencing problems with it, simply download Visual studio 2010 service pack 1 and re-install the tools. you can also update your .net frameworks from windows update.
if you are using Visual studio 2012, then you must be using the window phone 8 emulator which runs on only 64 bit and window 8 pro (or advanced) machines. it works on the visual machine. so you can re-install your Hyper V drivers or re-install the SDK
i hope this help fix the problem permanently.
Identified what the problem was :-)
"Windows Phone Emulator-512" is compatible with only Visual Studio 2012; it is not backward compatible with earlier versions of Visual Studio. So, now i used "Windows Phone Emulator-256", it's working fine :-)

Windows Phone development in Visual Studio 2012 RC

Today Microsoft released Windows 8 Release Preview and visual studio 2012 rc. I'm a Windows phone developer. What dev tool I have to use for create my apps in Windows 8 rp?
In Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 express download page, it is mentioned like
"A Visual Studio 2012 Express product for Windows Phone will be available in conjunction with the next Windows Phone release. Until then, you can continue to use Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone to create Windows Phone apps."

The Windows Phone 8 SDK is out now, for those that are still reading this. It includes the 7.1 and 7.1.1 as well, and all runs within Visual Studio 2012. You can get it here:

For Windows 8, install VS2010, the Windows Phone SDK, and don't forget the 7.1.1 SDK update that fixes problems with Windows 8.

Windows Mobile development in Visual Studio 2010

I just pulled the 2010 ultimate from MSDN, and I see there's no "Smart Device" options anymore. Does anybody knows how to enable it, or how to install it?
Sincerely,
Yvan
According to various sources in the net Visual Studio 2010 doesn't support Windows Mobile 6.5 development (see here and here for example). Of course there might be an SDK available in the future. For now, you need to use Visual Studio 2008.
Now you can with windows phone SDK7.1 You just need Visual Studio 2010 SP1 and download the Windows Phone SDK 7.1 from here
