I have created a Slider Control and an Edit Control that are linked, so that moving the slider changes the edit box's text, and manually editing the text moves the slider. For the most part it works but after I release the mouse button when dragging the Slider, the Edit Control shows 0. While I'm dragging it does show the correct value.
I can partially fix the problem by adding an if(nPos != 0) clause, which stops that happening. However when I click to move the Slider rather than drag, the Edit Control doesn't update.
Do I need a different handler for when the Slider is clicked rather than dragged? Or am I doing something wrong?

What happens if you try extracting the position of the slider directly with GetPos rather than using the nPos parameter?

In a C# Windows Forms app, I have a Form with a Panel with a PictureBox on it. The PictureBox is twice as wide as the Panel and has a graphics drawing in it. On scaling etc. I set AutoScrollPosition to keep the section of interest in the middle of the Panel: no problem. My problem is: when the app starts I want the Panel to show a section in the middle of the drawing, rather than the left hand side.
In the Form constructor I have:
panel1.AutoScroll = true;
panel1.AutoScrollPosition = new Point(100, 0);
textBox1.Text = panel1.AutoScrollPosition.ToString();
But on starting the app, the TextBox shows (0, 0) and the initial scroll position is at the left.
So, for test, I added a button which when pressed also executes:
panel1.AutoScrollPosition = new Point(100, 0);
textBox1.Text = panel1.AutoScrollPosition.ToString();
The TextBox then shows (100, 0) and the panel is scrolled as expected.
I makes no difference whether or not the AutoScrollPosition line is included in the constructor.
What must I do to initialise the scroll position without user interaction?
Finally solved it: you override OnLoad and set AutoScrollPosition in that, e.g.:

Give the need to do a work around for a tab control, I want to save then restore the CEditView contents. What I do is shown below, and while the scrollbars and position go back to where they were properly, the actual contents of the edit control don't scroll (it is in the upper left like it has never been scrolled). I tried RedrawWindow(), didn't work. I've been mainly dealing with the horizontal scrollbar, f I just simply click on the horizontal bar the contents jumps to where it should have been.
What am I missing or what is the trick to make it work?

I'm creating a small non-modal dialog in TornadoFX like this:

How do I go about setting (and retrieving) it's window position for later? That is, I have a preferences object for the window location and I want to update it so that the next time the user opens the window, it opens in the same place they last closed it.
I was able to mostly solve my problem by digging through some of the TornadoFX source code.
I added this to my init{} function:

This "mostly" solves the problem in that it does save/restore the window position, however the window flickers when it is created as it moves from some default position to the newly set position.
I am using VC6.0. I am trying programming to show contextmenu when I right click on the item of the ListBox. But now the popmenu can show anywhere in the rect of ListBox, since I only can get the rect of the ListBox, and I dont know how to get the rect of the item. I know that there is a macro ListView_GetSubItemRect which seems to get the rect of item of ListView. Is there similar way for ListBox, or is there a way to get the width and the height of item of ListBox, so I can caculate the rect? I didnt find some useful information on msdn and google? Can anyone give me some ideas? Thanks.

Current:
First, I left click an item to selected、 an item. And Second I right click the selected item to show popmenu. It shows normally. But in the second step if I click the blank area of ListBox, it shows menu either. That is not what I expected.
What I expected is:
The menu only shows when I click an item and the position only over the item. When I right click other area, it wont be showed.
You are looking for the ListBox_GetItemRect macro.
However, I do feel that the user will find it odd to click in one place and see the menu appear somewhere else.
The proper solution to this problem is to popup the context menu at the mouse position. Clicking in one place and popping it up somewhere else would be very bad.
To get the mouse position use GetCursorPos().

To be clear, first use ListBox_GetItemRect to work out which item is clicked on, and ignore it if none. Then use GetCursorPos so the menu appears exactly where the mouse is -- inside the list item -- and not somewhere a few pixels away. The Windows UI standards are that the context menu appears at the cursor position.

I have a windows application with DataGridView as data presentation. Every 2 minutes, the grid will be refreshed with new data. In order to keep the scroll bar in sync with the new data added, I have to reset its ScrollBars:

With above codes, the scroll bar reappears fine after data refresh. The problem is that the application requires to set certain cell as selected after the refresh:
dbv.CurrentCell = dbv[0, selectedRowIndex];
With above code, the cell is selected; however, the scroll bar's position does not reflect the position of the selected cell's row position. When I try to move the scroll bar after the refresh, the grid will jump to the first row.
It seems that the scroll bar position is set back to 0 after the reset. The code to set grid's CurrentCell does not cause the scroll bar to reposition to the correct place. There is no property or method to get or set scroll bar's value in DataGriadView, as far as I know.
I also tried to set the selected row to the top:

dbv.FirstDisplayedScrollingRowIndex = selectedRowIndex;
The row will be set to the top, but the scroll bar's position is still out of sync. Not sure if there is any way to make scroll bar's position in sync with the selected row which is set in code?
I found an answer to resolve issue. As I mentioned that the control does not have methods or properties to set the correct scroll bar value. However, the scroll bar and the DatagridView content will display correct if there is an interaction directly towards to the UI such as touch the scroll bar or grid cell. It looks like that the control needs to be refocused and a repaint.
Simply use the following codes does not cause the scroll bar reset:
dgv.Select();

The way I found is that I have to make the DatagridView control disappear to back again. Fortunately, I have a tab control with several tabs. Then I switch the tab to get scroll bar reset:

If you don't have any way to hide the DatagridView on your form, you could simply minimize the form and then restore it back.
The problem is that there will be a fresh on the UI.
It seems, TAB, SHIFT+TAB, END keys don't always bring last column into the visible view.
