I'm fascinated by TDD. I looked some stuff up on the internet, saw the video of uncle bob where he made the bowling application and now I want to go further. In my normal jobs I don't build bowling applications. Mostly I build crud/data heavy applications. Those are build in multiple layers etc.etc.
Does anyone knows a book, video, tutorial etc that describes the use, does and dont's etc for TDD in CRUD centered applications?

One of the best resources for real-world TDD I know is James Shore's free Let's Play TDD video series.
Let's Play: Test-Driven Development is a screencast series featuring Java, test-driven development, and evolutionary design. It chronicles the development of a real software project, warts and all.

I am searching for a good book to study and implement recommender systems. I tried to follow the recommender systems course offered at coursera but I could not work on it because I was really busy with other work. I want a good book to study and implement a full fledged recommender system. A book, because with that I can manage reading and working on it when-ever I want.
Also, I want use mahout/hadoop in implementing it. So a book that will guide me through architecture using mahout apis step-by-step would really help.
I think the book you want is Mahout in Action. I'm a coauthor and don't mind recommending it to you since I think it directly addresses your points: Mahout APIs, Hadoop, steps to implementing a recommender.

We are searching for a free alternative to TargetProcess.
We would like to use the following features:
Collaboration Software
Project Management
Gantt Charts
maybe SVN/ GIT support
Usual things like release plans, boards & charts
Does anybody know a good free software for about 10 or more people?
TargetProcess has no Gantt Charts. As for free alternatives, Trello is pretty cool for Kanban projects. If you run Scrum, you can try IceScrum, it is a decent free tool that has everything to plan releases, sprints and track progress.
umm, something along the lines of http://alternativeto.net/software/targetprocess ?

I'm interested in finding out how customers use features in my Cocoa application.
I want to build up statistics on which features people use and how they use them, so that I can measure the value of features I'm implementing.
I'm building a desktop app to run on Snow Leopard.
This feedback of course will be opt-in and anonymous.
Does anyone know of any frameworks that have been developed that can achieve this without me having to write stuff from scratch?
Might want to look into Flurry Analytics. It's "free" and will track just about anything you're interested in.

I'm planning to perhaps purchase an android phone, and would love to be able to script some simple apps in Ruby on it. I found this article from back in August where the author was able to get the scripts working, but since I'm not a Java head, I had a hard time understanding all the steps.

Do you know of any other tutorials or how to's out there that explain the process in more detail? Do you know if performance has improved since August?
There is a nice implementation of an Android app (irb in fact) based on JRuby in headius's repository on github. He has some details within the readme on how to use it and the source gives a good example of how to implement anything further.
There is a simpler app (think to "Hello world") but shifting to Mirah (formerly Duby) as opposed to JRuby. I know it's not exactly the same, but you get much the same coding experience but significantly more performance.

I am an OS X user. Often, I need to share architectural, workflow and other data with managers and developers in a visual fashion.
Can anyone recommend me some software and tell me why it's awesome?
I love OmniGraffle for diagrams
http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omnigraffle/
Easy to use, the result really look great, and support various programmer stuff like UML.
A lot better than visio
I am a big fan of ConceptDraw Pro
