The extension manifest is invalid, CompositeC1WebFormExtensions.vsix - visual-studio-2010

I just downloaded the CompositeC1WebFormExtensions.vsix from the official composite CMS C1 documentation website and I'm getting an error when trying to install this.
I'm on Windows 8 using Visual Studio 2010 pro
CompositeC1WebFormExtensions.vsix
Has anyone been able to successfully install this extension?
Thanks
David

I am afraid that VSIX extensions
CompositeC1WebFormExtensions.vsix
CompositeC1RazorExtensions.vsix
are only compatible with Visual Studio 2012, as it reads on these pages:
http://docs.composite.net/Functions/User-Control-Functions/Creating-User-Control-Functions/Creating-User-Control-Functions-in-Visual-Studio
http://docs.composite.net/Functions/Razor/Creating-Razor-Functions/Creating-Razor-Functions-in-Visual-Studio
Note. The current version of the extension works with Visual Studio
2012 only.

David i am also using Windows 8 .I have installed visual studio 2010 and 2012. i got this CompositeC1WebFormExtensions.vsix working well with Visual studio 2012...
I think it is compatible with visual studio 2012 only...

Is it safe to install Visual Studio 2019 preview side-by-side with Visual studio 2019 (Blazor wants the preview)?

I want to try out Blazor and it wants Visual Studio 2019 Preview. Now, I already have Visual Studio 2019 (Professional) on my machine. It is safe to install the Preview version side-by-side?
Tried to find any help on forums, but didn't find any advice.
Ok, I'll answer my question myself. Visual Studio 2019 Preview works fine side-by-side with released Visual Studio 2019. And I only got Blazor to install after I installed VS 2019 Preview.
Link to official Blazor Getting Started Documentation which specifically requires the Preview version (as of today)

Regarding installing Microsoft Visual Studio 2017

I am trying to download the Microsoft Visual Studio 2017. I first downloaded Build Tools for Visual Studio 2017 from https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/visual-cpp-build-tools/ . Running it does not give me the option of installing Microsoft Visual Studio 2017.
Any previous versions of VS can no longer be installed with the VS installer. Here's a link Microsoft's page for older VS versions: https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/older-downloads/
Hope this helps!

How to allow Visual Studio to upgrade the project automatically?

I have some compatibility problems with vs 2010 file opened in vs 2013, i have read that maybe i can solve it activating the option "upgrade project automaticcaly" but i can't find it. Where i can find this option in Visual Studio 2013 Express?
EDIT
I can't launch the project ,i have tried in VS2010 Express , VS2012 Express , VS2013 Express... It seems so strange, it's an official demo of kinect sdk.
EDIT
Suddenly it starts work on visual studio 2010
It's not a project upgrade issue but the sounds of that error message - VS2013 Express doesn't support the project type you are trying to open.
The following page describes the s/w requirements for use that project
Kinect or Windows SDK
Specifically the s/w dev requirements are:
Visual Studio 2010, or Visual Studio 2012. The free Express editions can be downloaded from Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express or Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Express.
.NET Framework 4 (installed with Visual Studio 2010), or .NET Framework 4.5 (installed with Visual Studio 2012).
There are a lot of other requirements also listed on that page.
I would suggest you download VS2012 Express (its free) and work from there.

Visual studio issues after installing visual studio 2013

I have Windows 8 machine.
I had visual studio 2010 and Visual Studio 2012 installed on my computer.
I installed the visual studio 2013 preview, and the 8.1 WDK.
After I installed Visual Studio 2013, my old project in C++ wasn't able to be compiled (in Visual Studio 2012) so I uninstalled Visual Studio 2013 and the WDK.
But the issue remains, i cannot compile my C++ project. I get error message such as "Windows.h cannot be found" I looked at the include directory and saw that I have the following include: $(WindowsSDK_IncludePath). but when I open "Macros>>" I can't this macro "$(WindowsSDK_IncludePath)".
I tried to uninstall Visual Studio 2010 and 2012 and reinstall them but it didn't fix the issue.
Does anyone know what might cause this issue and how to resolve it?
In order to build windows 8 apps in visual studio 2013, you must be using windows 8.1. (defined here). This is possibly the issue.
You also wouldn't see the windows sdk include path because the wdk would be uninstalled. I would recommend one of two things
get visual studio 2012 again, and download the windows 8 sdk
get windows 8.1, then install visual studio 2013, and use the windows 8.1 sdk
I know, its quite silly.

Installing Visual Studio 2012 in Windows 8

I have recently installed Windows 8 Preview. I would like to install Visual studio 2012. The problem is VS 2012 is looking for .Net 4.5.x. When I install .Net 4.5.x, it tells me that it is already part of the operating system. Any workarounds ?
The latest Visual Studio RTM versions won't install on Windows 8 Release Preview.
You can try one of RC versions:
Microsoft Visual Studio Ultimate 2012 RC
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29917
Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2012 RC for Windows 8
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29915
To solve the issue download Visual Studio 2012 though Microsoft Dream Spark, rather than any other source i had the same issue on two separate machines.... this fixed both.

I hope this helps everyone.
Thanks Andrew.
Please Format the system and install the RTM Builds Of WINDOWS 8 and VS 2012
