I send following curl request to get result from mongodb.
curl --data 'cmd={"geoNear" : "items", "near":[6.8590845,79.9800719]}' 'http://82.196.xxx.xxx:27080/weather/_cmd'
It is working. I try to send ajax request to do above curl request.
$.ajax({
url: 'http://82.196.xxx.xxx:27080/weather/_cmd',
type: 'POST',
// dataType: 'default: Intelligent Guess (Other values: xml, json, script, or html)',
data: {"geoNear" : "items", "near":[6.8590845,79.9800719]},
})
.done(function() {
console.log("success");
})
.fail(function() {
console.log("error");
})
.always(function() {
console.log("complete");
});
I think issue is my data object. curl request has 'cmd={"geoNear" : "items", "near":[6.8590845,79.9800719]}. But i don't know how it convert to ajax request.
But it is not working. I got 200 OK status. Please help me.
$.ajax({
url: '/weather/_cmd',
type:'POST',
dataType: 'json',
crossDomain : true,
data: {
cmd: JSON.stringify({
"geoNear" : "items",
"near": [6.8590845,79.9800719]
})
},
success: function(res) {
//do stuff with res
}
});
ProxyPass /weather http://82.196.11.207:27080/weather/_cmd
ProxyPassReverse /weather http://82.196.11.207:27080/weather/_cmd
Add above Proxy pass to your Apache and try this. it will work. problem is you cant pass POST Request by using jsonp. mongo we need POST requests. this is one way to do it. :D i tested it and works perfectly for me.
-update - it will not accept json and you have to pass it as string.

I have this ajax POST code, which works directly on browser, but when i want to make a POST using the same data on Fiddler or SoapUI or using httpClient or HttpWebPost it doesn't work, always returns ERRROR. Below are the Ajax code and Fiddler. Thank you in advance.
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "http://IP/address/post/something",
contentType: "application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8",
dataType: "text",
data:
{ message: 'testMessage', destination: '8888888888', campaign: 'UATTest', agent: 'TestingAgent'}
,
success: function (resp) {
if (resp != "ERROR") {
} else {
}
},
error: function (e) {
}
});
Update :
Does anybody know how to consume a REST API using FormParam ? how is it differ from JSON and XML ?
params:
#FormParam("destination"), #FormParam("message"), #FormParam("campaign"), #FormParam("agent")
I am sending username and password as request parameter to the server in AJAX and trying to show the response message. But not able to showing the response message.In fiddler it is showing the response message. But while on the browser screen it is not showing.PLEASE somebody help me out where i am wrong or need to change anything..
I have written like this-
$(document).ready(function () {
$("#btnCity").click(function () {
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "http://test.xyz.com/login",
crossDomain: true,
contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8",
data: { username: "abc", password: "1234" },
dataType: "JSONP",
jsonpCallback: 'jsonCallback',
async: false,
success: function (resdata) {
alert(resdata);
},
error: function (result, status, err) {
alert(result.responseText);
alert(status.responseText);
alert(err.Message);
}
});
});
});
TL;DR: I guess the problem is on the server side of your code (that we don't know yet).
At first: I don't know why it fails for you. I've taken your code and ran it against a public available JSONP API, that returns the current IP of your system and it worked.
Please try yourself using the URL: http://ip.jsontest.com/.
So most probably, the server doesn't return the right response to the JSONP request. Have a look at the network tab in developer tools. With your current code, the answer of the server should be something like:
jsonCallback({'someResponseKeys': 'someResponseValue'});
Note: The header should contain Content-Type:application/javascript!
BTW, even if this doesn't for now solve your problem - here are some tweaks, I'd like to advice to you:
Don't set async to false, at the documentation of jQuery.ajax() says:
Cross-domain requests and dataType: "jsonp" requests do not support synchronous
operation.
You don't need to set a jsonpCallback, because jQuery will generate and handle (using the success function a random one for you. Quote from the docs:
This value will be used instead of the random name automatically generated by jQuery. It is preferable to let jQuery generate a unique name as it'll make it easier to manage the requests and provide callbacks and error handling.
So here comes my code:
$(document).ready(function () {
$("#btnCity").click(function () {
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "http://ip.jsontest.com/",
crossDomain: true,
data: { username: "abc", password: "1234" },
dataType: "JSONP",
success: function (resdata) {
console.log("success", resdata);
},
error: function (result, status, err) {
console.log("error", result.responseText);
console.log("error", status.responseText);
console.log("error", err.Message);
}
});
});
});
A working example can be found here.
Another solution, like Yonatan Ayalon suggested, can be done with a predefined function and then setting the jsonpCallback explicitly to the function that should be called.
if you see the response in Fiddler, it seems that the issue is in the callback function.
you are doing a jsonP call - which means that you need a callback function to "read" the response data.
Do you have a local function that calls "jsonCallback"?
this is a simple jsonP request, which initiates the function "gotBack()" with the response data:
function gotBack(data) {
console.log(data);
}
$.ajax({
url: 'http://test.xyz.com/login' + '?callback=?',
type: "POST",
data: formData,
dataType: "jsonp",
jsonpCallback: "gotBack"
});
You can try with the following methods and close every instance of chrome browser in task manager, then open browser in web security disable mode by the command "chrome.exe --disable-web-security"
success: function (resdata) {
alert(resdata);
alert(JSON.stringify(resdata));
},
And the better option to debug the code using "debugger;"
success: function (resdata) {
debugger;
alert(resdata);
alert(JSON.stringify(resdata));
},
I am using jquery to post Json data to server. However when I make a post request as below,
$.ajax({
type : 'POST' ,
url : uri,
data : jsonStrJson,
contentType : 'application/json',
success : successFunction
});
The http request header content type is not "application/json" even though I posting a json object.
Since it is not applcation/json, the server does not process the requset and returns 415.
Is there a way to set the header using javascript or jquery API?
Can you try this,
$.ajax({
beforeSend: function(xhrObj){
xhrObj.setRequestHeader("Content-Type","application/json");
xhrObj.setRequestHeader("Accept","application/json");
},
type: "POST",
url: uri,
data: jsonStrJson,
dataType: "json",
success: function(json){
console.log(json);
}
});
"contentType" instead "contentTYpe" should also solve the problem. ;)
Also for setting http request header parameters you can try this approach:
$.ajax({
type : 'POST' ,
url : uri,
data : jsonStrJson,
headers : { 'Content-Type': 'application/json' }, //this line
success : successFunction
});
I have to do a POST from my ExtJs script in order to delete something from my DB:
Ext.Ajax.request({
url: 'deleteRole.html',
method: 'POST',
headers: {'Content-Type': 'text/html'},
waitTitle: 'Connecting',
waitMsg: 'Sending data...',
params: {
"rolename" : rolename
},
scope:this,
success: received,
failure: function(){console.log('failure');}
});
when the post is sent i can see in the firebug the rolename in font but not as a param. I would like to show you another post (made with spring:form) relative to the user registration. If i inspect the post i can see the following:
(source: subirimagenes.com)
And i can get the parameters in my controller using #RequestParam.
But in the post that i have problems i can't see the parameters part, i can only see the Font(Fuente) part:
(source: subirimagenes.com)
As a consequence, my spring controller does not detect any parameter. Is it something wrong in my POST?
Thank you
The problem is that you are using the line headers: {'Content-Type': 'text/html'}, in your original question. This would set the content to text/html instead of the content being post data.
I solved it with the following code:
var rolename = 'myRol';
Ext.Ajax.request({
url: 'deleteRole.html',
method: 'POST',
params: {
rolename: rolename
},
success: received,
failure: function(){console.log('failure');}
});
I'm using this in a Sencha Touch app. I had to add an extra config called jsonData and make it true or else nothing is passed to my endpoint url.
Ext.Ajax.request({
url: endpoint,
method : "POST",
headers: {
'Content-Type': 'application/json'
},
params : {add: formattedAddress, lat: latitude},
jsonData: true,
useDefaultXhrHeader : false,
withCredentials: true,
success : function(response) {
Ext.Msg.alert("Success", 'yea');
},
failure : function(response) {
var respObj = Ext.JSON.decode(response.responseText);
Ext.Msg.alert("Error", respObj.status.statusMessage);
}
});
I'm trying to do a jquery GET and i want to send a parameter.
here's my function:
$(function() {
var availableProductNames;
$.get("manageproducts.do?option=1", function(data){
availableProductNames = data.split(",");;
alert(availableProductNames);
$("#nameInput").autocomplete({
source: availableProductNames
});
});
});
This doesn't seem to work; i get a null in my servlet when i use request.getParameter("option");
If i type the link into the browser http://www.myite.com/manageproducts.do?option=1 it works perfectly.
I also tried:
$.get(
"manageproducts.do?",
{option: "1"},
function(data){}
which doesn't work either.
Can you please help me?
EDIT:
also tried
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "manageproducts.do",
data: "option=1",
success: function(msg){
availableProductNames = msg.split(",");
alert(availableProductNames);
$("#nameInput").autocomplete({
source: availableProductNames
});
}
});
Still getting the same result.
If you say that it works with accessing directly manageproducts.do?option=1 in the browser then it should work with:
$.get('manageproducts.do', { option: '1' }, function(data) {
...
});
as it would send the same GET request.
Try this:
$.ajax({
type: 'get',
url: 'manageproducts.do',
data: 'option=1',
success: function(data) {
availableProductNames = data.split(",");
alert(availableProductNames);
}
});
Also You have a few errors in your sample code, not sure if that was causing the error or it was just a typo upon entering the question.
I got this working : -
$.get('api.php', 'client=mikescafe', function(data) {
...
});
It sends via get the string ?client=mikescafe
then collect this variable in api.php, and use it in your mysql statement.
This is what worked for me:
$.get({
method: 'GET',
url: 'api.php',
headers: {
'Content-Type': 'application/json',
},
// query parameters go under "data" as an Object
data: {
client: 'mikescafe'
}
});
will make a REST/AJAX call - > GET http://localhost:3000/api.php?client=mikescafe
Good Luck.
