I have a grid,
grid = new Slick.Grid("#myGrid", loader.data, columns, options);
How do I get the grid to reload? I'm using a remote model as by the examples as provided by the slickgrid documentation.
I want to force the reload based on clicking a button.
Thanks
I found my problem.
I'm using the remotemodel from Slickgrid's examples. The problem I had was I did not "clear()" the data. The "clear()" function deleted all of the old data it contained. I then invalidated and everything worked.

My primary question was preserve jqgrid scroll position when it is reloaded. I found the solution from below post.
jqGrid paging question
But now I am facing another issue. I have added new row in grid and call my save method. So when grid is refreshed using above solution, I am not getting the Id of my new row.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks..!
I want to create editable Kendo MVC grid bound to local data(some IEnumerable<>).
I found this and this. But first is only for js and second is not ediatable.
Is it possible?
I have tried all modes of Editable. But Editable() requires to specify related actions and it's impossible to prevent its execution.
As far as I know, editing is not supported with server side binding. In the past, I have used a Template column with links to edit the items. An example:
cols.Template(#<text>Edit</text>)
I'm trying to use a kendo.data.ObservableArray as data for data source of the grid. It shows ok. When edit inline, change a field, then cancel, the values are changed. When clicking edit, then click edit on another row, the last one remains in the edit mode. Sometimes cancel not work. On the array it works as expected.
I took the Kendo UI Demo, http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/editing-inline, to reproduce the issue. Here is the issue: http://dojo.telerik.com/uLiCi/2
Does anyone have any idea why so strange behavior?
In my opinion, it should work with both, array and observable array.
Thanks in advance
I have a grid that is populated by a JSON response (MVC3 controller) that has a userData component for some additional data for grid captions, etc. All that works just fine. I recently switched the the grid's data loading to "loadonce: true" as in working with larger grid results sets, I wanted client-side sorting and filtering. All that works good. BUT, I was surprised that the userData got wiped the first time I clicked any column for sorting. If I turn off loadonce, userData is fine, but it is of course going back to the server each time. The items that make use of the userData fire on gridcomplete and are now coming back "undefined" after a sort (and probably anything that reloads the grid). Any thoughts why this might be happening? Oh yeah, I also noticed that clicking a column sort wiped out any multiselections (perhaps related to the same culprit?).
Thanks,
Mark
You are right. +1 from me. It's a jqGrid bug. Inside of internal addLocalData method after the line 1527 of the file grid.base.js of jqGrid 4.1.2 or after the 1532 of jquery.jqGrid.src.js (you can get modified version from here) one should add the following line
retresult[ts.p.localReader.userdata] = ts.p.userData;
It will fix the problem. I posted the corresponding bug report here.
I need a grid on an MVC3 Razor page that will have to load by JSON or AJAX call. I need this grid to be editable as well.
Also I need the grid to have the ability to have the first 6-8 columns frozen. I looked at the example on Codeproject.com and I couldnt get it to work. My scrollbars would show up but couldnt get the columns to freeze.
I have been working on this using Telerik grids, but it doesnt have the ability to freeze columns by default in a razor setting.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to implement this or where I could look for some more information?
Try jQuery EasyUI http://www.jeasyui.com/documentation/datagrid.php
I did initially suggest jqGrid: http://www.trirand.com/blog/
but apparently it's a faff to get frozen columns using it.
